    Bye for Now

I have been invited to Japan for 10 days, and I'm leaving this afternoon. I'll back at work on 6th November, so please contact Sam@tdi-plc.com or call 01708 866609 if you need anything prior to my return. Thanks

    HKS Turbo kit

That's what I heard, but is was 2nd or 3rd hand information so I don't know how reliable it is.

    HKS Turbo kit

So if you wanted to run 400 bhp and 400 ftlbs of torque, other than the kit, the injectors and the ecu, what else would you need and would the stock engine support it with out going bang? I doubt very much whether the standard engine would last very long, especially if high revs are used consistantly.

    HKS Turbo kit

That's OK Dorian, I'm not a spokesperson for HKS - I was just letting you guys know that it's available for anyone that's interested When I mentioned the torque/reliability characteristics, I was speaking about what we have found our customers priorities to be - not those of HKS - sorry for any confusion

Not normally. They may do in the US, but most figures stated in the US can be taken with a bucket of salt.

    HKS Turbo kit

I mentioned the 480hp as being the turbocharger capability - not the supporting hardware. We don't have any more technical data to hand at the moment, but the intercooler "looks" capable of supporting 480hp too. The APS kit looks like a nice peice of kit too. I wonder what the idea is behind oversizing the turbocharger beyond the kit capabilities and most peoples requirements?

    HKS Turbo kit

It may be worth noting that the turbocharger itself is capable of supporting 480hp. We are sensitive to clients varying priorities, but we generally find that the primary considerations are the torque delivery characteristics and the reliability, rather than the power.
  9. Here's the engine safely back in it's rightful home.
  10. Here is the front of the 350Z without the nose cone, showing the intercooler.

    HKS Turbo kit

Seems strange why they don't include them as they are needed The FCON, pump and additional injectors were included in their supercharger kit. Perhaps it's to allow people to choose their own solutions?

    HKS Turbo kit

Hi, Just to let you guys know that the HKS turbo kit has been officially released in Europe today. Please find attached PDF document. Please let me know if any further information is needed. Thanks
  16. In an effort to expand our levels of capabilities and expertise, I am glad to tell you that we have successfully completed the Prodrive Vehicle Dynamics training course, and have been certified. If you are not already aware, Prodrive are at the top of their game and are experts in many disciplines of F1, WRC etc. The subject is an all encompassing arena that covers a comprehensive in depth analysis of everything from geometry to tyre selection, spring and damper rates, anti roll bar rates, differential types and corner weights etc. Basically it deals with everything that influences how a car moves, behaves and is influenced by internal and external factors. We will be sharing this new wealth of knowledge with Tony which should add value to WIM as it progresses from a Geometrist to a Dynamisist smile.gif
  17. As a primarily Service Orientated Enterprise, we aim to create and maintain exceptional levels of technical competance and service. Part of our enablement policy is to provide the highest levels of training that we can find so that we can make these skills available to you. I am very happy to tell you that the TDI technical staff (including TDi North) and one Manager have successfully completed the EFI University Advanced Training Course which deals with the theory and practice of engine management calibration at the very highest level. As you would expect the TDi guys were very good already, but some new knowledge and skills have been attained that reinforce our foundations. Training in other disciplines is also ongoing, which we hope will bring value to you.
  18. Sorry, I have only just seen this (so is probably irrelevant now) I just wanted to say: 1) The FCON that comes with the kit is "plug and play" but it seems to be calibrated on the safe side (rich and retarded), so further calibration makes a substantial difference. 2) The HKS supercharger system has been discontinued, which is a shame because it is a great system.
  19. I like the Super Streets with EDFC. The Flex is a bit too harsh for my liking.

    Cosworth Plenum

I agree, it is very interesting. The head of Cosworth USA came for a meeting at TDi yesterday, so I can tell you that there are some even more interesting developments in the pipeline. There are no price indications on the plenum yet - sorry
  21. The RRP on this unit is £545 plus vat when new. You will need a harness (if you want to make life easy) which is £285 plus vat. We have a couple of new units in stock with 15% discount (making way for the new replacement model), and a used one too (PM me for a price please). If you do buy it, there are approx 4 dealers around the UK that can install and calibrate it. Best regards Mark

    Cosworth Plenum

Hey Guys, I saw a 3D model of this manifod today. It is nothing like I had expected I can't say too much but I can tell you it's a combination of cast alloy and carbon fibre, that the design looks quite radical to me and that it is designed to produce another 16hp. Fair play Cosworth
  23. Hiya Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of months. Mrs Mark has been poorly so it had befallen to me to look after the kids etc (poor them!) I'm back now and almost at full throttle again, so I look forward to being of service. I will get the blog updated at some point this week. Thanks for reading
  24. Hello, The HKS FCON SZ is being replaced by a new model so we would like divest our interests of the 5 that we have in stock for the special price of £544.32 including vat (normal price is £640.38 including vat). You will also need the wiring harness to make connectivity simple which costs £334.88 including vat. There is no soldering or wiring etc required - it's a simple "plug and play" system. These are a very effective mid priced ecu that will cater for most peoples requirements. Please note that the software is licensed by HKS so that only HKS approved Power Writer Dealers can calibrate them, of which there several around the country. Please let me know if you are interested or need any more information. Thanks Mark
