People claiming copyright over their submissions etc... So they offered free lifetime membership to anyone that had contributed to the database prior to 31 Dec 2005.

Your £2 gets you free downloads for a month, you can pay an annual subscription of £20 which is much cheaper than similar products etc charge for access to their database. Also, they offer an incentive program, if you are the first person to spot a new static speed camera location that gets verified you earn yourself free membership for life. If you read the T's & C's the £2 is for membership of the site, the database is a free benefit of membership (otherwise they could be stuffed under the SOGs act for selling something that was not up to date).

Shame you will never get to see it light up (on account of the fact that your foot will be on the brake pedal, so unless you are "elastic boy" you never get to see it). I would like to know if the LED's could be replaced though, for white ones, then I could put one on the front..... Or am I just mad......

Agreed, Autosol is a bit harsh for frequent use, it includes an abrasive component (as all polishes do...) thats a bit coarse for everyday. Great for a refurb/infrequent cleanup.

Is he *actually* selling it? From the description it looks as though they are just using ebay as a cheap shop window to break the car for spares themselves rather than auction the wreck as a whole. Especially with a newly registered UID with zero feedback. Or was that completely obvious and I have missed the point of the above?

That made me laugh! How would I ever resist! Even on stock I slow down and accelerate on dual carriageways for no better reason than to listen to it! Thanks for your advice though, its great to hear from people that have been here and done it.

Hi Baptist, yes that is a great help, I dont really want more than the magic 400bhp but I use the car as a daily driver so I dont want to compromise the reliability if possible. Will a boost controller allow for the car to run at reduced boost 90% of the time and only at 400 when I wish to "turn the wick up" or would such a setup mean that the fuelling etc would be way out of whack in one or the other (on/off boost?)? Should I consider a Nitrous system instead as that would provide the boost on demand? Am I just a power obsessed deranged petrolhead? Sorry for the dumb@ss questions, I am happy with how a turbo works and what a boost controller does but have not actually done much tuning of cars. So I'm learning all the time....

Hey Smoky, Its been a couple of months now since this post kicked off, how have you found the performance now you have lived with it for a bit? is it hardcore all the way or is it *possible* as a daily driver? I want more power *everyday* but I dont want to do a doughnut every time I'm sat in traffic! seriously considering an APS TT and would love to know your experience of living with it, reliability, how well it holds its tune etc.... Any info appreciated.

Teach me oh wise one..... My concern is that the FI route puts extra strain on the engine and there is lots of (possibly hearsay) info floating about that the VQ has weak pistons, and open deck, weak con rods etc. This makes me very nervous about going FI. BUT I WANT IT! So my thoughts were, if the engine is bulletproof to start with then it is more capable of taking the extra FI load???? Finding it difficult to find any info about peoples long term experience of FI, is the engine reliable? What are the issues? I have read the "tuning 101" guide on here that says FI needs frequent attention to keep the engine in tune but what does that mean? Trips to the dyno every 4500 miles? or every 500?

and chewing up all your hard earned optimax as a result. Fuel economy is worse with the aircon on, hate to think what it is with the aircon on and the windows open......

If you get the right Sat Nav then it can also function as your "Speed cam thingy". You can load a database file of all the camera locations and common police laser traps and it will warn you as you approach them using the sat nav's GPS to determine how close you are and even if you are over the speed limit. Might just save you a few quid to spend on something else...... like the girlfriend
