Glad you liked the photos. I don't think mine or those in the Piston Heads article do the car any favours. I think it looks much better in the flesh - apart from the hole by the left headlamp - really not sure about that. I don't know if it's clear from my photos, but the original rear spoiler is still on the car - the higher level one is fitted just forward of the original one. And the mention of Novidem - that's printed on the button by the gear shift as well if it makes it's purpose any clearer. Personally, I don't think the 350z has anything on this (see attachment). Much better by miles!

And the final 3. These are smaller versions of the originals - shout if you want copies of the larger originals. Hope you like the photos

And some more pictures (because I only appear to be able to attach 3 files at a time...)

Okay, here is a selection of some of the better pictures I took of the car at todays FoS. The car itself was just a bodykitted MY06 - there was nothing special about the interior. Although there was a small button labelled "compressor" next to the gear shift. I'm not familiar with these things, but presumably that's something to do with the supercharger? Finally, the wheels look like bronze versions of the Nismo variety (but without the Nismo label). Did see the car in action, but they didn't really put it through its paces. Plus it didn't sound any different to the standard car either. Maybe it would have been better if I stood next to the start line... Anyway, hope these photos are of interest.

Thanks for your requests guys - I'll see what I can do tomorrow and hopefully I'll have some pictures uploaded during the evening.

Hi all, I'll be at the FoS on the Friday so will try and track the car down and get some more photos for uploading (hopefully) Friday evening. If there are any requests for specific photos of the car let me know and I'll see what I can do.

na I think they refer to the little panel we all got that is attached to the bootlid. people got confused the first time round too with that Pardon my ignorance, but what little panel is that?

Here's a link to the full thing. Not top quality and streaming only. Haven't found a way to download it yet, but working on that one. And here's a link to Rendezvous - the inspiration for The Run. Again, streaming only. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jLUv6buMXE Enjoy!

When I placed my order the dealer asked me if I wanted one. I pointed out that the 06 model came with one which they seemed a little surprised at. Guess I'll just have to wait and see what turns up.
-
According to the specs list, the 06 model comes with a tonneau cover. Don't know if it's the same as the one you can buy as an accessory - I'd like to think it is.

polarbear, I hope my earlier post didn't offend. What's the sound quality of the iTrip like? Do you get any interferrence from commercial stations at all?
-
FM transmitters like the iTrip are banned in the UK by some 60 year old act of parliament. This would be the ideal gadget for me and I'm glad to see we're so up to date in this country. The good news is that Ofcom are reconsidering that ban. The following news article on the BBC explains more... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4993528.stm

Just thought I'd drop by to say I ordered my car at the weekend Just got to wait until mid-September for it to be delivered Oh well - the wait will make it all the sweeter when it arrives.
-
Thanks for the extra info guys. Only a couple of days now til the weekend. I can't wait!
-
Thanks for the info - I'll see if I can get in touch with one of them. Are there any extras you'd recommend having on the car? I like the Nismo kit but I won't be able to get it up my drive without grounding the chin spoiler.

I'm looking at an MY06 Coupe with the GT pack in Azure. I haven't fully decided on all the options yet - I'll go through them with the dealer - but most likely simple things like carpet mats, etc. It's interesting what you say about waiting until the end of the month for the best deals. I didn't think the dealers would give much away - I've heard at most £500. What sort of deals could I expect if I waited?

Hi everyone, just thought I'd drop by to say hello and introduce myself. My name's Adam and I've been visiting this forum for the past few weeks while I make a decision on what car to get next. After test driving far too many cars I've finally made a decision - the 350z! None of the other cars I've driven have put a bigger grin on my face. So... I'll be paying my friendly local Nissan dealer a visit at the weekend to place an order. I can't wait!
-
Thanks Speedball - I took the car out for a test drive yesterday and loved the roar from the exhausts. I don't think the stereo will get used very much. I'm looking at Azure, Gun Metal and Black but I'm leaning towards Azure. I've seen some other posts on this forum that the paint on the Z is quite thin and that black suffers from "swirls". Presumably all the colours suffer from that problem - its just that it's more obvious on black. Do you happen to know if Supagard eliminates "swirls"?

My only concern is that by adding the Nismo kit post factory I'm giving the dealer just the excuse they need to not fix something under warranty - even though it is just a body kit. All I'm doing at this stage is gathering as much information about the car as possible so that there are no surprises later on. Many thanks for your help so far. I'm sure I'll have more questions the closer I get to placing an order...
-
Thanks for such a quick reply. I've thought of a couple more questions about the Nismo kit... 1) If I was to have it fitted at a later date, would that invalidate the cars warranty? 2) Looking at photos of the car with and without the Nismo kit, the attachment of the nismo spoiler to the boot is narrower than the original spoiler. Would there be any marks left on the car once the original spoiler has been removed? Would it involve a respray of the boot at all? Many thanks

Hi everyone, I'm seriously considering buying a 350z and will be looking at the 2006 revision of the car. Before I take the plunge I have a few questions and I was hoping you maybe able to help out. 1) Maybe one day I would like to add the Nismo Aero kit to the car but my budget doesn't allow me to do it just yet. Can this be done at a later date, or does it have to be done at the same time I order the car? My local dealer said it was a factory fitted option only, but a friend of mine who owned a 350z was told by his dealer that it could be done at a later date. 2) Looking on the Nissan USA site, the Bose stereo included in the GT pack also plays MP3 cd's, but there's no mention of this functionality on the UK site. Does anyone happen to know whether the UK model can play MP3 cd's at all? Also, is there anyway of connecting an iPod to the stereo? 3) My experience of servicing cars has been pretty straight-forward - one service every 12000 miles or 1 year. I'm looking at several performance cars and not only do they have their annual service, but they also have a host of other extras not included in that service - such as brake fluid change every couple of years. Does the Z require similar services? Or is it as straight-forward as an annual service? 4) And finally, does the car require a cambelt change? The dealer said it used a chain - but I don't want any running costs to be "hidden" by the dealer just to get a sale. Many thanks in advance for any help you can give.
