  1. Any pics of the l.e.d's ?

Apologies for the delay. The led lights are great I fitted them after having fitted a pair of led fog lamps I got off ebay, commonly know among those who read my post as the “Chip Shop Lights†(sticks & stones---)

Anyway I fitted the side lights because the original filament ones looked yellow when the fogs were on. Now they all match.

Sorry the pictures aren’t too good with my old phone but I’ll try to get better ones later

You can see how bright they are though and how yellow the old ones were

  2. Got a price this morning. The wing liner is in two parts, the front part (damaged part) is the thick end of £50 inc vat which isn’t as bad as I thought. The round plastic clips are £1 but he didn’t have a price for the metal ones. I’m thinking now that Ty wraps are a better solution than the metal clips anyway, easy to fit and replace. Give that man a gold star ;)

  3. Fitted led's to the front yesterday :teeth: . Soon realised that the dam clips securing the wheel arch liner to the front bumper and the lower engine covers are all made of steel and end up rusted solid the day after your new car encounters rain for the first time.

You obviously can’t see behind the covers so you get your 10mm spanner out and begin to turn. NOTE if you do 360˚ you’ve already done the damage. The bolt AND the clip turn and the clip destroys its locating slot in the soft plastic, so you cant fit a replacement.

On completion, of what I thought would be a simple job, I’ve now got a chewed up melted plastic liner which came loose while travelling at warp factor and got heated up by a frenzied Bridgestone.

Anyone know where you can lay your hands on a cheap replacement? I suppose the stealer will want about £100 for one (plus a drink for the boss of course)

By the way I noticed that my covers have lots of screws scattered around underneath, where the mechanics have had the same problem during servicing. What a stupid fastening given its location the material used and the frequent need for servicing access.

  4. one wonders why one wants to do that anyway?

Thanks one and all. One had thought one might have to lift out ones centre console and one had already removed ones two back screws but couldn’t see how one could wangle it out after that.

By the way the reason One wishes to do this???

Well you may or may not know that one is the guy with the “Chip Shop†fog lights on ones mean machine. One is fairly well know in these parts don’t one know ( see “Don’t get Jealous Nowâ€)

    viewtopic.php?f=9&t=21171

and one wants to switch them on and off!

  5. One was wondering if anyOne can tell One how to remove One’s switch blank mounted next to One’s heated seat switches in One’s centre console as one cant seem to hook it out?

  6. Thanks for all your input chaps. So I suppose it’s pretty much a resounding “I’m not Bloody jealous of them Mate† One big advantage though is that everyone will know who I am when driving along the road “ Oh look there’s Dicky with those Chip shop fog lights†

    FAME AT LAST

  7. Yup, no pollent filter. Not had any issues with airflow in mine. Maybe a blockage somewhere thought. Try downloading the service manual (if you havent already) and trace through where the piping is routed.

Is the service manual available on this site Chris? cant find it on the Search, or do you have a short cut to one.

    Cheers Dicky

  8. There brighter than I thought they'd be but not so's you'd blind anyone. They look realy good with the headlights on but the side lights look a bit yellowish next to them. I think Im begining to like them.

Not very good pictures using the phone due to the glare so this is the best I can provide.

  9. I eventually got a jesture of goodwill out of Nissan (but only a small one mind you, it is Nissan Customer Services after all). The fault had something to do with the play heads being out of alignment ( acommon problem they eventually divulged) My local dealer took the unit out and sent it off for repair and if memory serves Nissan paid the brunt of the repair bill.

  10. Fitted a couple of fog lights to the car. Bought them off ebay for around £15 the pair and fitted them today. Not sure I like the look but going to live with them a few days. Anyone seen any other better alternatives?

    What do you think these?

Anyone know if the side light bulbs can be replaced with brighter led versions?

  11. Hi all,

As yet I've still to purchase my first 350Z.

I've been on the look out for some time but I'm biding my time for the right car at the right price. I doubt anyone remembers but I mentioned on here a couple weeks back that I have the option to buy a friends Uk '04 GT with Rays in gunmetal grey. The only problem is I'm just not that over keen on the wheels or colour...

I'm looking at all the other colours too but just can't decide on what colour/spec to go for.

If you could all do me a favour and post me some pics of your motor that would be great, I need inspiration!!!

Im a bit late with my two pennith but----

Come on--- it’s a no brainer, everyone knows that gunmetal with the contrasting silver rays is BEST of breed, that’s why it’s the best selling colour. The grey makes its occupant look even more handsome and desirable than usual and---- keep this under your hat mind -----it’s quite a bit quicker than those other colours as well.

Bugger-- didnt see that green one above before I posted. On reflection gunmetal might be just about as quick as that one.

  13. Don’t think it’s got one. I believe a unit called the BCM (Body control Module) takes the turn signal info from the indicator stalk on the wheel and powers the indicator lamps itself. I also believe the clicking indicator sound is also controlled by the BCM which powers an audible sounder from one of its outputs.

If that’s not the right answer it does sound quite good. No doubt someone will put us both right on the subject.

  14. BUGGER, what a shocker! Been away from the site for a while and just read this today. I live in Newcastle and bought a couple of things off Phil a short while ago. Spoke to him on the phone at the time with a problem I had and a more pleasant and helpful guy you couldn’t wish to meet.

I’m not religious but my wife is a committed Christian so I will ask her to get her church congregation to pray for him and your family.

Really do hope he gets over this one and you and your family find the strength to cope with such a shocking turn of events

  15. So its got nothing to do with the rain only the colder more dense air. Hey Im starting to get the hang of this. I'll be fettling things next .

So I’ve got to make the air colder and more dense even if its a sunny hot day. You know IanSi6’s air con idea has merit.

However since Mr Pingu’s suggestion hints of an in depth understanding of old Einstein’s thinking, which I like, then:

    if e =mc² and I =v/r

    D (air density) = air con o/p x O² % :scare:

    ∑πr² x 106p/litre

sod it, who need’s the money anyway!

  16. Ok im no techie but isnt it due to the air density.

Colder air = denser air = more oxygen

    Am i right??

Denser air would definatley make the car feel more responsive probably add extra 5-7 bhp gain

So if I the air's as dense as say----------me, then I can book my appointment with the Dragon's>
