  1. Didn't know that but it's good to know
  2. Not that I've noticed but then I don't rub the plastic bits much. You certainly don't get polish all over your hands. I've just touched up the worn bits ie when the little bubble like raised bits on the plastic seem to pop and look a light grey colour. It blends them in again, not perfect but an improvement. As I said I've also touched up the coin try on the drivers door that always seems to get scratched. Here again it certainly improves the looks.
  3. Did u wrap your whole centre console (gear lever to gauge binicle?) Thinking of doing mine now a bit of wear is showing on my gear lever surround plastic bit. Yours looks like satin black? A picture would be nice if you have one and the time to post it.
  4. Used kiwi high gloss shoe polish to cover the wear on the plastic bit that sits over the gear knob and carries the air con switches also used it on the coin tray area on the drivers door panel. Seems to work fine. You put it on, let it dry and that's it. Also used kiwi anti scuff on the drivers seat bolster which also seems to disguise the wear.
  5. The colour looks much deeper in the first two pictures. Makes me feel like buying one of those polishers and give it a go myself. The car looks brand new.
  6. Yeah this is the guy I contacted and the bit that holds the air con controls is what I wanted off him. I've sent another email to him but I don't want it if its scratched or worn (no point then) I was hoping there might be a cheaper supplier of a new one. Thanks anyway.
  7. Cheers young man I'll do that! Well done that man the guy had a used one and for only £28. The stealers want over£100. Thanks again Well my hopes have been dashed. The guy above was selling bits from a breakers yard i believe and following initial contact hasn't bothered to contact me again. I don't want to go to the main dealers as there price is something like £180 quid, FOR A PIECE OF PLASTIC. Any other suggestions would be welcome. Cheers
  8. free coffee and toast how about that? Coffee nd toast sounds good (suppose a loose woman's out of the question?)
  9. Your a star! Thanks for that cos I'm now so much cleverer than I was yesterday. Sounds like a handy device, although lifting my left arm up and tilting the mirror isn't that much of a pain. Anyway if it were I'd just get the wife to do it ( that's voice activated technology) ha ha
  10. I didn't really want to know anyway!
  11. Looks good but Ooooooooooo the cost must be prohibitive!

  14. Hey Mark..... do I get a discount for kicking this thread off? If not do you do cheap rates for pensioners (Shy bairns get nowt you know) ha ha
  15. If you mean the silver or carbon fiver ones I don't fancy them, but thanks anyway
  16. Unfortunatly already contacted him, very helpfull but no luck
  17. Anyone know a supplier of these bits. I'm especially after the bit on the centre console that the gear lever pokes through and olds the air con controls Ps 2004 car
  18. Last question.....does the Momo handle have a ratchet release button which acts upon the original handbrake button, or does the original button just poke through the end of the Momo handle.?
  19. What, pray tell is an auto dim mirror. Does it automatically prevent you from being blinded by headlights from behind??
  20. Did that hold the handle secure without the other two grub screws? Yes no problems as it was a snug fit anyway so was only needed to make sure it doesn't come off Cheers young man
  21. BUGGER wish I'd had that before I started! I did find an old post by Andeyzed but couldn't get the pictures to display and as we all know a pictures worth...................
  22. Did that hold the handle secure without the other two grub screws?
  23. I fitted a speed camera detector in the cubby a couple of years ago. From memory I removed the cubby false base and drilled a hole in the LHS back corner. I then pushed a long length of single core white wire down the hole and fished it out of the passenger side foot well. I then attached the wires I wanted to pull in to the white wire and pulled them throgh. Hope that helps or gives you a better idea!
  24. Can you tell me, is the Momo handle fixed to the existing handbrake (once you've removed the leather/plastic covering) by three grub screws? I bought a cheap handle off eBay a while ago and having recently bought a gear lever and handbrake gaiter also off eBay, decided to fit them today. WHAT A MESS. The gaiters are fine but the handle fixing method is crap. Removing the fake leather covering from the handbrake was a bit stressful given there's no return having cut into it. Anyway having removed the leather/plastic covering I slid on the new handle and tried to tighten in the three fixing grub screws. The two screws on the sides just weren't long enough to make contact with the metal handbrake. Tried replacing them with longer screws which only managed to stop the handbrake ratchet from working. I'm thinking of relenting and spending the £60 or so and buy a quality Momo handle but worried its fixing method may be the same. If anyone who's fitted one can advise me I'd appreciate it.
