  1. I like the looks of them and would appreciate your views on quality. It would also be nice to find out what type of led is used so it can be replaced should one pop. Edit..did the kit include the drop relay etc?
  2. Anyone fitted the Torqen DRL's and can say if they are any good ??
  3. Other way round - I think it is only on the manuals. I have it on mine and it seems that it only kicks on when the car is on or above a certain gradient. I find that certain small hills do not seem to engage the assist, but the steeper hills do. Mine is great, it holds the brake for 2-3 seconds, or until you pull away. It sometimes takes a split second to realise I am trying to pull away before releasing but otherwise its great. Do you get a noise of any kind if you pull away before the time out period??
  4. Jjust shows the operational variability of the system, some work fine other make noises others intermittent operation. I don't want to disable the system, I quite like it, I just want it to operate like our S-max or like Alpinamans. Emailed Nissan yesterday and as usual NO HELP AT ALL!! After going to some length telling them how little confidence I have in my local dealers after years of poor service, what do they advise.....take it to the dealer.
  5. It's strange it's so hit and miss on other 370s. My daughters seems to work every time but it just seems to need a little tweaking to improve it. I might email Nissan to see if I can get some guidance unless a knowledgeable member can share their thoughts.
  6. Well the 2010 Black edition has it, just wish it was better quality. It works every time it's just that it feels like an inferior system compared to the S-max. Descriptions I've read suggest it should hardly be noticeable, if at all. I was hopeing there might be a software fix.
  7. The hill start assist delay from talking my foot off the brake and moving it over to the accelerator seems a bit too long in that I have to either wait a couple of seconds for it to release or I get a squeezing from the rear brakes as I drive forward and it releases. I've looked at the manual and the braking system seems to rely on several types of sensor under computer control, offering what looks like little to no adjustment for the diy'er. Does anyone else experience the same delay/squeal and can this system be adjusted to improve its operation. My wife's S-max has the same system and there's nothing to be heard when pulling away.
  8. Don't believe the manual is available any longer. I've had to revert to my DVD copy.
  9. Anyone know if there's any performance advantage in these or do they just provide aesthetic value
  10. Haven't had a go yet mainly due to the weather (not that I'm scared of being blown up you understand) I'll report back when done. I've got my 350 and my daughters 370 to try and sort.
  11. No response so far.....................Maybe those who tried all died in the explosion!!
  12. Anyone removed one of these before. My daughters seat belt it slow in retracting and has to be assisted to fully retract. I've washed the belt itself but still the same so I'm going to try and tension the retract spring. Can the spring be retensioned and I'm a bit worried about any explosive devices in the system. They say to disconnect the battery negative and wait for 3ins + but it seems a bit scary. Any advice?

    Spacers

Fitted 20mm spacers all round about 10 yrs ago now and nothing but positives to say about them. No damage to any other parts but the road holding has greatly improved. Would without question recommend fitting them
  14. Hate Iffy oil gallery gaskets Iffy boot lid release Iffy clutch slave cylinder Clickey clutch pedal Road noise Poor visibility Like. I have the 350 & my daughter the 370
  15. That puts my mind at rest a bit, thanks. It could be something or nothing but unfortunately I always tend to fear the worst
  16. Thanks for the input. No I don't think so because it's only when going up my drive at slow speed. On the flat there's no problem. I was wondering if it had a single mass flywheel (the noisey one) but the previous owner doesn't seem to know what's fitted so I assume it must be original. I was just wondering if anyone else has experience it. I'll check if any heat shields are loose but after that I'm concerned if it might be possible clutch problems, but then again there's no noises on the flat ??
  17. What ! no one has noticed this. I'm getting worried now
  18. Haven't received any pics as yet but looks like your tearing along. Falcon told me the crank pulley was horsed up really tight and had a lot of trouble getting the timing chain cover off. They had to use heat at one point and blamed excessive liquid gasket material around it. Once that's off though the hard works done. Good luck you'll save a bunch of dosh!
  19. The Nissan dealers around me had a range of hourly rates, £120/hr, £59/hr (but labour quoted at around £1000 + parts), £79/hr. None of them had done the work before.
  20. Apologies for yet another 370 enquiry but as a new owner I've one more concern to resolve to make me happy. My drive slopes up from the street to a single garage at the top so you have to drive very slow and ride the clutch a bit when driving in. When putting the car in, I drive quite slowley towards the door to line it up. When doing this I can her a metallic clanking noise as the clutch is released to move forward. Does anyone else experience this noise at very low speed. It sounds to me like timing chain slap although I'm pretty sure it's not as this has just been inspected in the last couple of days. It could also be clutch related but I'm not sure what type of clutch is in there or how it normally sounds. The cars only done 36k mls and as far as I'm aware the clutch is standard, however I've email the former owner on this but not received a reply as yet. Edit: I should have said the car runs perfectly on the road, no noises at all ( other than tyre roar )
  21. I have been told it's the case of those screws being finger tight in a lot of cases Thanks for that! I'm glad you told me. Falcon guys weren't sure how it's happened nor me. I recently bought the car for my daughter and got the service history with it, nothing in the paperwork at all to indicate any work requiring the time chain cover to be removed. In any case I'd have thought a seller would want to promote something he'd had fixed prior to selling. It would be a selling point to me (saves me having it done!) 22. Certainly a lot of lateral thinking going on there
  23. Tha gaskets have now been replaced along with some additional oil seals and O rings. Falcon Performance, ran by Steve and brother Dane, appear to have made a Proffessional job, which I am well pleased with. The job cost a little more than quoted but I had given instructions to replace anything that looked iffy, which they did. They kept all the parts removed and replaced the oil, filter, coolant etc. The job took a bit longer than expected due mainly to the timeline chain cover which was well stuck on. However they absorbed the majority of the additional labour. The most satisfying bit was that they fully believe that my decision to have the gaskets replaced was a good call (lucky I suppose) because they found that all of the gasket cover screws were just finger tight ! and would have given seriousness problems not much further down the road. They have taken pics of the whole job and will send them on to me. I will post them as soon as I can figure out photobucket.
  24. Well that's what I had been thinking the cost would be for my 350, so when I got this ballpark figure I was supprised. A lot of his focus was on the flywheel cost. I don't want to mention names because the guy seemed genuine to me and I don't believe he was looking to rip me off. Edit..meant to say the price included labour and vat (all in as he said)
  25. Yeah, I think sound proofing the boot area can't hurt any. Is there any special material or would stuff like carpet underlay do the job?
