1. Technically...you ride a motorbike don't you?!
2. I'm pretty sure the carbon ceramic disks shouldn't need to be replaced, they're meant to be fade free......I suppose only time would tell on that one though
3. Here's a couple of 'fast family mobils' although the budget may need looking at Audi RS6 Avant http://www.channel4.com/4car/rt/audi/rs6+avant/16879/2 BMW M5 Touring http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/cargrou ... uring.html Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/12022008/49/me ... te-35.html
4. £2 that's enough to get the zed off the forecourt and back round to the pump again-as long as you don't rev it of course I've heard on a number of occasions that putting in £10 is a false economy because the more room you have in the tank, the more evaporation occurs and so you lose petrol as it turns to fumes, therefore fill her right up and you should get an extra mile or two. Having your windows down also causes so much drag that it uses as much fuel as having the aircon running! Amazing the sh!t that you learn from random places & TV shows - however if anyone knows different then please speak up as i'd like to know if these Urban Myths are true or not?
5. I know that feeling, I've always run the car on vpower or bp Ultimate right from the start but every now again I have been caught with the feeling of is there enough to get to my BP/Shell garage, no I'd better not risk it - being at the side of the road with a Zed that's run out of fuel is the ultimate shameful experience - so I had to put £10 of normal ASDA fuel in I had to apologise to the car for the horrible taste in its pipes and promptly topped up with some good juice Putting £10 in made me feel a bit 'Pikey' as well - you could almost imagine the comments - he's got the car but can't afford to run it!!
6. I know - I had no idea what I was doing I just linked a picture from my photobucket page and then it seemed to work, although my first attempt ended with a picture of the car so big that it filled my screen and I couldn't see the text on the forum Fingers crossed they let it stay as it's a really good picture
7. forgot to say it would most likely be for one of the bank holiday weekends 2009
8. Hi All, I'm looking at organising a Gumball Style rally from London to most likely Scotland somewhere, stay over night and then back to London. It's not exclusive to 350Zs but it is not going to involve any citreon saxos or ford fiestas either, I've already got two Ferrari 360 & 430 owners, 3 porsche 997s, One BMW M5, One Bentley Continental GT & A couple of M3s that are interested - I'm trying to gather if anyone else is up for it before I dedicate too much time to orgaising anything? It will be a route card issued on the day to prevent cheating and then a convoy run right up through the country most likely at night so as to avoid any traffic and hopefully the 'Rozzers' Post any interest and if there's enough then I'll start work on it. Cost is not going to be massive, unlike the £30K entry fee to the Gumball 3000 rally. Most likely looking at £100-200 depending on the cost of hotels & a few jumpers/jackets & maybe flyers, it is going to be by invitation only and you will only know where abouts in london we will meet 48hrs beforehand so as to minimise any tag alongs. All entrants will be submitted for approval.
9. I'd reco. using Vpower of BP Ultimate, although it is a more expensive way to run an already thirsty car, I have noticed the performance drtop when I've been forced to use 95ron, however if petrol prices keep increasing as they are at the moment and my fuel bill hitting £500+ per month I may soon be using 95ron. Is there an addiditve that you can put in the tank?? as besides the performance, the Vpower of BP Ultimate clean the engine as they go better than regular fuel.
10. I've got one these keyrings, the black comes off unless you spray it with a laquer cover or a coat of the wifes clear nail varnish will be even better or it will chip away quickly. I've had mine now for about a year and the black is long gone, I ended up scraping it clean and then thought - that looks quiet cool in Silver - I'll leave it. I have dropped a few times and never split in two yet....touch wood
11. Used JWT PopCharger http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-350Z-WOLF- ... 286.c0.m14 Sounds Amazing When Fitted.
12. You wouldn't want the foam part to sit against the filter as it will then restrict the air flow by a small amount, the idea of it sticking upwards like that is that it pushes against the bonnet (when shut) and it will then help to create a seal between the heat shield and the bonnet & therefore keep as much engine heat away from the charger as possible and so you get as much cold air as possible for the charger to suck up. The screws that connect the heat shield to the air dam are self tapping, so by keeping pressure on the opposite side of your air dam to the screws then they bite into the plastic nicely. Good luck
13. Here is the JWT Popcharger including Heat shield http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll17 ... 8_1808.jpg
14. I've just fitted (this weekend) a JWT Popcharger and it's wicked Sounds awesome - you get a pop-style sound & swoosh of air being sucked in when you blip the throttle while stationary but then above 4,000rpm, the engine sounds even better than it did before, with IMO a better, deaper growl & snarl Acceleration is not noticably/if atal faster, but feels smoother and the engine doesn't sound strained in anyway. I would reco a JWT without a doubt, although my MPG has dropped to just 19mpg but that is my fault as as I can't stop myself from running in high revs just to hear the array of noises as it roars, pops and whistles. If you're buiying then I got mine from BigPhil @ ESR £95 + post (Incl. heat shield as some places sell this as an extra).
15. I've used EBC Yellow stuff pads which are the top rated pads from EBC, the only other option are the Blue Stuff, which don't stop as hard, but do last longer and so are recommended for the track, I would never use the Red/Green Stuff on the Zed as they are advised for smaller, slower cars - lets not forget that the Zed is a heavy car to stop when it's steaming along at 'Motorway Speeds' If you're track racing then te general EBCs to go for seem to be: Yellow Stuff or Blue Stuff. Some links that you may find helpful: http://www.k300performance.co.uk/ebc-brake-pads.htm http://www.ferodo.net/frame-detail.asp? ... -stuff.htm http://www.miata.net/products/perform/ebc.html#yellow http://www.ebcbrakes.co.nz/reviews/ R
16. Very true, sometimes standing in front of the guy, does change his attitude somewhat With all this in mind, can anyone advise as to where I may be able to find some 19" Nismo Alloys and whats the best price I should expect to pay? thanks,
17. A good point-cheers , however, even with the taxes, delivery etc.... you still stand to save a considerable amount on some stuff. I would suggest speaking with them first, they open at 4pm UK time so you can phone in the evenings after work and confirm any questions that you have before placing the order, they also run you a bespoke shipping cost within 24hrs.
18. Hi all, Been on a website I only found recently (you may already know it) and found some interesting stuff, with the exchange rate highly in favour of the sterling, most of this stuff is roughly half the price you see on screen - making some things very cheap indeed. Have a look click http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/350z Even with shipping it's much cheaper than the UK, thought you all may find it useful. They've got some great mod stuff as well, which you don't see in the UK or you see highly marked up on eBay etc...... Laters,
19. Thanks to M13KYF for the recos and big thanks to BIGPHIL for sorting me out with; 2 rear shocks and a new JWT POPCHARGER - Let the fun begin Can't wait to get them fitted now. Cheers guys.
20. Hi All, I've been offered some Tokico D-SPEC Adjustable Struts & Shock Kit, are they any good, do you gain anything from upgrading these or are the 'stock' units pretty much as good as it gets. I've got a leaky rear shock and so looking at replacements - if anyone knows of a good place to buy 'stock' parts then please shout up as I would use that as the back up plan. Thanks guys, Reece
21. Thanks for all info guys, much appreciated. I've found this one; http://www.superchargersonline.com/prod ... abactive=1 Looks to be the one to have without having to go too mental on extra mods. Does anyone know anything about this model as claims to be able to deliver 412bhp which would be ample and come with a 3 yr warranty!!!!! The reviews seem to be in favour of the Vortech chargers so thanks to tmjack for that reco , but as I say, this is all new to me so any extra advice would be greatly appreciated. I think that the TT option would require too many changes to the engine and would leave me with an option that would be maybe too brittle for everday use. Do you know if the Vortech Superchargers can be turned on and off like the one featured in the 'Nissan 350z GT-S' shown at Goodwood below are some links to read about it; http://www.testdriven.co.uk/news.cfm/ni ... ay-special http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=146&i=15344 http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews ... _350z.html This gives the best of both worlds, the go when you want it and the economy (seems wrong saying that about a Z) when you're just cruising. Cheers, R [/img]
22. A very good point! Thanks, Reece
23. Open to all here guys; what do you think of this as a reliable and relatively low custom job - I don't want to have to spend ££££££ on a 500bhp engine. http://envyperformance.net/index.cfm?fu ... ct_ID=6028 has anyone experienced this supercharger or can recommend another? cheers, R
