I never heard back from me laddo on his old Lotus routes... I'll ring him tonight the bugger. I think the route I normally take from Staines is M25, A3, then pick up the A287 and head to the coast. It takes a couple of hours, mebbe three. Not as "rustic" as the Welsh run - I think we might have to go out West for those kinds of roads...

If we do we will need to book in advance as Sundays are always pre booked and really really busy, especially lunch time. Proposed date for this meet: Saturday 13th january 2007? Hows that? Couldn't believe the muck behind the alloy when they took the wheel off.. from now on I'll be taking the wheels off to clean them properly! Excuse my ignorance here, but if I take a wheel off and put the bugger back on is there any need to get the wheels aligned again or will they be ok... ? EDIT: I have such a low regard for my own ability with mechanical things that I'm convinced I'll f*ck it up somehow...

After the balancing, they removed the old weights and I have an unseemly mark where they were... won't have time to clean the wheels properly until mid-Dec - wondering if anyone else has had this, and was it easy to remove... looks like glue residue... and I'm hoping that's not corrosion under there!!!

Keep posting the ebay stuff is my vote! I certainly appreciate the postings, not that I bid on any - it keeps me abreast of dodgy offers and is teaching me what is available and how it goes, and if it wasn't people like Mike et al posting dodgy deals then I would be one of the many scam victims I reckon!
