  1. Was driving north on El Camino in my burgundy Ford Taurus (urgh, like a heavily spring mobile mattress) and saw two Azure's (no spoiler at all at the back, not even the diddy UK one) and one Kuru with black whells Nissans are popular here - saw loads of Murano's, Pathfinder-types, Navarras and Infiniti brand is everywhere...
  2. I can afford a respray + extra clear coat, think I might do that next spring. Hey Jonathon - good to hear from ya mate! Not seen you since last year's Wales meet. I have used the mitts etc but its still a PITA...
  3. Bryan I never asked, what are your thoughts on me having some pieces resprayed like you mentioned the front bumper, of course, but what about the roof and the boot lid? I'm not averse to having the whole thing resprayed and lacquered in the same colour... then well detailed with that extra thickness!
  4. Sarnie --> Bryan has done better cars than yours! Ha! He could make your tangerine dream look half decent
  5. Forum members will remember me agonizing over the kuro - full respray was what I was expecting. I am flabbergasted at the great job Bryan has done, and I feel like I have a new car! The black is deeper and "wetter than a otters wotsit" - great job. Him and his missis are lovely too! If any of you want your Z to be a real head turner, pay Bryan a visit - awesome job, thanks so much, Bryan! Hope your daughter had a great 4th birthday too! Steve
  6. You should be able to take it to any dealer, right? Save you a 150 mile trip. I had the same problem and took it to the dealer I bought it from (West London Nissan, Shepperton) and they put a call in to Nissan, then told me they were replacing both CV joints, and I've never had any bother since. They also replaced the CD player too (it was sticking) - which has gone wonky again (CDs jammed in it!). The only solution is to replace CV joints.
  7. What's the car like on the new suspension? I'd like a firmer ride...
  8. I assume this effect (heat soak) affects the JWT Popcharger too?
  9. I'm going to buy a new SquashedSky when I get back from the States - went for a drive in one, loved it. 4WD 2.0 Diesel pour moi in black with the side bars on it
  10. I did the nurburgring a few times in the wet - it's the best time as all the mad loons aren't out there so you actually have some space. Mind you, I might need the seat retrimmed after my butt chewed it a few times with a bit of sideways and understeer (sometimes both in the same corner!) moments
  11. What do you mean "NISSAN" number plate? N15 SAN?
  12. Is it a UK car? I just make sure PTY and TA are off and it's all good - you saying that even with PTY off (ie. there is no PTY shown on display) it still does the news?
  13. Get a beemer, sounds like you aren't suited for the Z
  14. ahahhaha! I knew someone who went to the states for a few months, when he came back his garage had been broken into and all that was left of his lexus was the shell. He'd cancelled his insurance too. He spent the next few months buying replacement parts off Ebay (probably from the people who nicked em!)
  15. aye, phil already has... couldn't do the job myself, though, otherwise the engine bay would look like a scene out of Saw IV
  16. I'll believe you (thousands wouldn't!) :-) He's not selling the wheels, seats, lights, etc too (where did he leave the body shell?)
  17. rob, that would be awesome! perhaps I'll overcome my northern inclinations and part with some brass then. The only sockets I own are holding my eyeballs, so you can see how I get confused. Getting the car done by driveandshine next tue! can't wait, he reckons it's a straightforward job to fix the dint inthe door + all the paint work issues. Nice bloke to boot (not literally). Lemme order the pop charger then I'll pm you about that offer of help! You sure, now? Be ready for assinine questions
  18. agree about the handbrake - has anyone managed a handbrake turn? I have tried and failed
  19. Good job, I'd love one of these but I'm mechanically inept, don't own a drill or even a spanner, so unless someone with more of a clue (wouldn't be hard) is willing to do it for me... ...did you have to drill anything? What tools did you need...
  20. I was going round a roundabout as you joined - managed to wave whilst changing gear and steering!
