And there I was thinking that you were the Michael Schumacher of 350Z-uk! That comment has the hallmarks of Boris and the Titanic - are you his advisor

All the fancy footwork for changing manual gears is becoming a thing of the past given firstly the advances in gearbox technology and now that auto box technology is now so efficient what with Ferrari having announced they are not making manual boxes any more and , er...... AMG have made left legs redundant for some time with no manual offerings At least with Nissan adopting the synchro rev for the 370 it at least gave us lesser mortals using the manual box option, and whose pedal footwork was not always spot on when it came to heel and toeing, the credibility to those who we passed that we had our gear changes spot on and by God it sounded good in the car enough for me that it was never turned off when I had the 370
-
Yep, just the base models without the synchro rev.

Quite normal with 'summer tyres' when the weather gets cold, and no need to worry that it will cause damage. From my own Zed experience, it was more pronounced with the 370 that the 350's - no doubt due to different suspension set up.

Thanks for sharing your experience lol

Were they all mapped the same at the factory though, given the known octane differences in countries where Zeds were sold new?

Not so sure the ride height helps the looks at all..... OK so that is necessary so the owner says for the sump to clear speed humps, although it might make a lovely noise I'm sorry it just doesn't look right in my eyes and do wonder about the handling on our B roads as a result.

No its not! That one in the pic is just for the post as let's be fair your real "home" is recently constructed at the rear

As someone who has been around as long as you on the forum we know that in the early days there is no doubt these were the rims to have and I seem to recall I paid around £1650 for them new in 2008 (iirc) and that included Falken 452's from a trader on here. And for anyone looking to get their 350 kitted out with the original Nismo options these wheels are probably top on most peoples list. But, times have moved on the range of aftermarket wheels now available is so much better and some really good rims can be had for not too much money. Moreover, we are seeing more and more Zeds being modded with what are regarded as 'todays' wheels to have rather than going down the traditional route. So what I am trying to say is that the demand for LM GT4's is not so hot and buyers prepared to spend up to one and half grand on a set, and then probably another 500 or so quid on tyres, are likely to be looking for as perfect condition as possible. That is not to say there may be those who would be put off by the price, but you may have to wait some time for those buyers. And we have seen these wheels in the wanted sub-forum from time to time - in fact that is how I have sold nearly all my ZED parts (and the 370) rather than resorting to 'for sale' ads. Hope that helps and offered solely in response to your ask.

Suzanne the LS3 6.2 V8! Caution very long build thread....
Ebized replied to Wasso's topic in Member Build Projects
And it was both the V8 and the auto box still bolted on too, lifting onto the back of your pickup Chris. Not been the same since So how many years since you last drove Suzi Ian? -
Life moves on but your vid is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the contributions you have made to the forum over the years and the support at meets/drives. Love the vid and glmpses of some of the drives you took part in, particularly those in Wales which were dear to my heart. Good luck for the future to you and your misses and look forward to hear what new wheels take your fancy.

I too dropped Sky some 6 years back due to the ever increasing cost and petty awful service back-up. Bought a Humax Foxsat when it first came out about 6 years for £300 and its been great and trouble free apart from the remote needing to be replaced once. Yes, I miss some of the motorsport but quite honestly most of the other Sky offerings, over and above what you can get on terrestrial + freeview, were wasted on us. But fortunately a family member helps me with Sky Go access, so I can watch F1 But interested in what others are now using as needing to upgrade the telly, so watching this thread for ideas

Just had a full set of MPSS for the '45 from Tyre Leader (4 x 235/35/19) for just less than £640. Last time I bought MPSS in 2013 for the 370 the best price I could find was just north of £1100 for the set of 4 Damn that Ekona Looks like the next set will be the MPS4S.....the way the £ is currently going it looks like it will be nearer a grand or more

So we expect to see you down in the 56, if not the 55sec bracket around Knockhill early next year then

I'm sure I recall another member some while back having this issue and it turned out to be the battery, so if yours is getting on years might be worth having that tested, or do a swap before handing over your hard- earned.

I can certainly vouch for a some truly epic laps around Knockhill in Alex's previous R35. I doubt few have lapped that track more than Alex so he knows every millimetre and it was awesome how he kept the same line on the limit through the corners on every lap. An experience I will never forget.

To help the OP on this thread I was attempting to balance out opinions being expressed and this post below of yours G Man is quite helpful in that it lists many of the pros of 370 ownership but highlights the road noise as well as your misses not enjoying the ride as "issues". My misses was very comfortable in the 370, apart sometimes from when I was, er, testing out the car's dynamics on the twisties . Posted 02 May 2016 - 18:07 I've had two 370s, one a GT and one a Mk1 Nismo. What a lot of people don't realise on here with regards to the Mk1, is the suspension set up. Superior in every way to the GT, a different class over a 350. I did some basic suspension mods to my GT, a set of Eibach Pro's, had an Akropovic Evo true dual exhaust, was UpRevved, but the Nismo would smash it all day long on twisties, fact. (Ask Gstraw on here, he couldn't believe it when I gave him a cabbie, he has a 370 GT) You will get a lot of negative opinion about a Nismo on here, from some that have never even driven one, never mind owned one. The servicing on a 370 is inexpensive. As a track car, I've no idea, but if it's mostly for track, get a stripped out MX 5 like Ekona has, you'll have more fun. As Ebized has said, as for a fast, fun and well equipped GT, it's in a good price bracket. One or two things about a 370, the road noise is pretty bad, not enough steering wheel adjustment (only up or down, no in or out) and my Mrs always complained that, as a passenger, it wasn't the most comfortable of, erm, rides It is a looker, gets loads of compliments and attention and the equipment level is very good. I've no real idea on a Porsche or TT RS, no doubt very capable cars, for me, now a 'redneck', they both have an image problem in my eyes. The Audi, because the company that produces them are cheating bast3rds, and the Porsche, if not the right one, is a wannabe statement. You won't wring a lot of extra oomph from a 370 without spending serious cash and going FI, but as was mentioned, unless you're getting one really cheap, it might be the wrong car if you require that level of power. Anyway, good luck in your search, buy one off a club member, it'll be looked after and not at a dealer premium. Edited by The G Man, 02 May 2016 - 18:09. OK, hands up to being defensive about the qualities of the 370 - my only issue about the car at the end being the absence of 4 seats. For me it has been the best car I have owned/enjoyed and that includes the present car that so many driver aids it kinda takes away from the nut behind the wheel. That is why I still follow the forum regularly and try to help those interested in making a 370 purchase

Black 350z sat under tree cleaning advice please?
Ebized replied to skidder's topic in Car Detailing
Cheers Headphones As i say I took it to the local Romamian car wash but the paintwork is rubbish after cleaning. They didn't look to cheerful when I drove in lol..A friend of mine knows them well and there was no way it was coming off..I even got my own cloth and 'shampoo' from them and attempted myself. It definitely was not coming off.. I've been here loads of times before and I know I should wash it myself but normally I go there and get a semi decent result... And no my car does not have a recent wax/sealant unfortunately... In the meantime I've parked it down the road. Looks like I need a full on assault? If you are in the Surrey/Kent area, why not give your Zed a real treat: http://www.350z-uk.c...ces-and-offers/ Bear in mind those prices may have changed, but even if you just check out a few of his details you can see what can be achieved (either with Ed or another good detailer near to you) - if you are serious about aa "full on assault". -
What this thread needs is a poll as to whether owners feel their 370's are troubled by the tyre roar, or not. What I sense from your posts on this thread (and others) G Man is that you had an issue with your 370 that did not trouble me, and putting our opinions to one side it would be good to see what owners, past and present, feel/felt about noise levels with their 370's in everyday road use. Oh, and although I do have a motorbike licence I am wise enough to know that at my grand old age and level of fitness I am well past the mid-life crisis to endanger me or other souls out there on two wheels, or even three before someone has that bright idea.
-
No not deaf I am pleased to say, but admit to being a petrolhead that puts joys of driving a car built for drivers first, rather than worrying about the absence of comforts for getting from A to B that others might look for that I hope you have found in the Mustang G Man.
-
No droning withe Stillen exhaust I had on the 370 for the near on 5 years I had the car and having done several road trips to Scotland and Wales from the that included a significant amount of motorway mileage. And I bought my 3 Zeds to enjoy them as sports cars that sounded like sports cars and whereas the standard 350 exhausts were OK, if not perfect for a decent noise, the standard 370 exhaust is so muted it was like driving a boring saloon car. Great thing with the A45 is the noise it makes as standard..........but there is also a comfort setting that turns off the exhaust valve that allows the pops and bangs in Sport & Manual modes that wouild no doubt suit G Man, but for me that is boring too on motorways, even for this OAP.
-
At least we were entertained to a couple of great laps between Ricciardo and Verstappen, as up to then it was another pretty boring race, and then a well deserved race win for Ricci, given it was starting to look that the new boy at Red Bull was getting all the luck.....in addition to his natural skills.
-
If you have the standard exhaust then yes the tyre noise will catch your attention, but as most upgrade to the music of an exhaust more befitting of a sports car (and its a decent one) then more of these than these will be the result. If your exhaust is already upgraded and its the noise with motorway driving you find of concern then most will enjoy their second favourite music.....from the internal speakers
