  1. Its not about who has the biggest toys, but who owns the pram.
  2. And its even higher compression.
  3. Im just saying what he experienced, it wasnt a scientific test, but a run upto about 140, and the Aston wasnt much quicker. With my car, it was just nowhere near as quick, at any speed.
  4. Or an F-35 JSF STOVL. Exactly.
  5. It could if it were a Harrier AV-8b.
  6. No, you tadger............... Its called 'Pursuit Mode'
  7. What boost were you running and could you translate that into BHP About 11psi at the time. Must be in the region of 450bhp, with torque probably about 450 lb/ft. Another thing that makes me think about the Aston figures is this. My friend who has a 200sx running 300bhp had a proper go against one. He said that the Aston was just managing to pull on him, albeit very slowly. To put it in comparison, he said that the Aston was that little bit quicker than his car, in the same way that my old Vortech Zed used to be quicker than his. With my car running 11psi, the Aston was totally, and I mean totally murdered. I would have gone upto full boost, but was struggling for traction badly as it was.
  8. Rubbish, totally wrong for the car. Not the best quality of rim in the first place.
  9. You wont need to change the sump plug, just the crush ring.
  10. Well, to be honest, since I got the car back the only thing that has had a go was a DB9 and a 911. Before, when the car was approx 400bhp, it walloped a 355, 911 no probs at all. Tell you what, I think Aston are inflating their power figures, I wasnt running full boost, and the Aston was dog slow in comparison.
  11. Did 2.5k miles last time home (4 weeks off). Car has done 18k miles since delivery last June.
  12. Mine mostly says that I invite all manner of fast exotic cars to be thoroughly lashed by a blue Nissan. My car clearly states that most Porsche drivers in my area will visit the local dealer for 'my cars not working properly, check over' after being destroyed by previous Blue Zed. I thank you.......... And Im the smug **** you can just make out behind the tinted glass laughing at your Porsche.
  13. Its not a question of as much, more a case of its safer than a TT setup on standard internals.
  14. Shocking isnt it. Even my neighbour said he wasnt happy with the build quality of it. I hope to see him out on the road very soon.
  15. My neighbour has got one in black. Ive had a sit in his and wasnt that impressed. Sounds gorgeous and looks good, but I know what you mean, very dissapointing build quality.
  16. If only it were that simple. You still need an engine builder who knows what he's doing to do all the re-assembly. I wanted to get my work done by a proven UK builder, who would give me some after service for the future, which I've got. You still need to get the motor pulled, re-assembled, re-installed, run in, etc. Then you will need the setup re-tuning.
  17. Not really. The pistons are not really suitable for FI, either, so they would also need changing. You will also need uprated studs, head studs, head gaskets, crank regrind, new big ends (whether you uprate them or not, is personal choice). Like I say, the costs are mostly in labour, so just changing the rods alone wouldnt be very cost effective in the long run. While you've got it in bits, you might as well do the job properly. What I've described above, is a basic bottom end upgrade. But if you knew you had a bottom end that was capable of holding much more than 400bhp, wouldnt you want to explore the realms of more power????
  18. I'd like to see the evidence from DSA myself, I wouldnt believe a word that the previous company that occupied that premises said, and I believe that alot of the staff remain under the new company. As far as rebuilds go, its not just parts, its the labour costs that are the killer. Although your talking a couple of grand for the basic of parts. Add on engine removal, engine stripping, machining costs, rebuild and assembly costs, then re-installation and it gets very pricey indeed. Then you come to the question, well, if my engine is uprated, why not get more power out of it, off you go again.
