Got ya. More importantly than retaliation, did they sort out Spills car?
-
Correct, fitment to the 06 motor is different.
-
Thats a good idea Dorian. Im sure it will be snapped up, bargain for someone.
-
I agree Dorian, the yanks drive just as hard as us, for sustained periods. Who knows??? It seems to be the accepted norm though. APS are sticking to it, thats the main thing.

Europe has roads which allow more prolongued use of high load/speed conditions than the US, and speed limits to suit. European domestic cars usually have more in the way of cooling parts for cars, be it transmission/oil etc. This is the reason that the Single turbo kit was not marketed for the UK/European market, as it is not suitable for use. Its pretty hard to know who's telling the truth, when the parent company is saying one thing in both written and spoken format on the matter, and the dealers saying an entirely different thing. The problems arise when you need backup for your car, and you cant get anyone to take responsibility/ help you out. Shame, as the kit is a great product.
-
The car should not have been tuned without the APS exhaust, thats the point Im making. If APS havent communicated this to you, you are leading yourself wide open for problems further down the line. APS have clearly stated that the product is not being sold as intended if the exhaust isnt fitted to the car, if you arent aware of this, then you need to sort that out with your supplier. The reason it blew up was confirmed by an independant engineer, thermal load on the engine, due to an exhaust that was not fit for purpose. APS then stated that all kits in the UK/Europe are sold with the exhaust as part of the package. Funny how, once their is a problem, nobody wants to help out.

Thanks for that Allan, very interesting, thats not how thing were described by the parent company. I know a man that will find that information very 'enlightening'.

Jon / Lee Dont you just love hearsay ? The APS Twin Turbo System in the UK for 350Z is priced and specified exactly as per USA. The two kits are identical in their content with the exception of specific components required for RHD vs LHD. The reasons we priced UK at exactly the same as USA pricing were twofold:- 1} APS wanted consistency on 350z product worldwide 2} We wished to restrict internet shopping to those that really felt the added aggro was woth speculating on currency / vat avoidence etc. With this in mind the "kit" as delivered from APS does not contain an exhaust for either market. The fact that APS have recently suggested that the exaust is mandatory for Europe has not altered the fact that we still have to order the exhaust in addition to the TT kit ! The addition of the exhaust as mandatory may or may not have come about as a direct result of failures, who will ever know. The safest route when you are unsure of your facts, would be to refrain from commenting. Regards Allan Allan, I am not unsure of my facts, I suggest you check with your supplier, as that came from Peter Luxon at APS. Not hearsay, as you put it. Cheers. Jon.

What was?

The kits are supplied with the APS base map, which with the exhaust, is a conservative tune. From what I have seen, these dealers dont deviate from this map very much. Make sure you get the right exhaust fitted, thats all Im saying.
-
Thing is, regardless of the way you map the car, at the end of the day, the zed engine isnt designed to run turbo's, and the engine needs to get the gases away as quick as possible. To that effect, the car needs to be fitted with the APS designed exhaust, as the kit was designed around it. Other supposed high flowing exhaust that are out there, just dont cut it for evacuating the gases from the cylinders. Thermal load is a major factor with this kit, the exhaust valves are not designed to run at the EGT that this kit will produce. Of course, the tune is important, as well. Cars that are already turbo are a different story. Dealers shouldnt be letting these kits go out without the proper exhaust fitted, exhaust design is vital on turbo engines, more so on high compression ones.
-
Headbanger, you should have the APS true dual exhaust fitted as part of the package you are buying. This is mandatory for all cars in Europe, as the exhaust helps with reducing the thermal load on the motor, and produces very low back pressure. I would recommend that you fit the test pipes to further reduce thermal load on the engine. If you are not getting the exhaust as part of the package, then WRCT are not playing the game as they should do. This has happened to alot of people in the UK, as APS only sell the kit complete with the exhaust, but the UK dealers are selling these on for extra profit. This already cost on guy his engine, as the subsequent thermal load caused an exhaust valve to melt and drop into the cylinder, killing the motor. Please check with your dealer, I would hate to see another owner get burnt. PM me if you have any more questions. Regards, Jon.

LOL, what a load of rubbish. Dress it up however you want, your attitude is plain for all to see. That is my final word on this matter.

then you say it'd be helpful if your ideas were a bit clearer. I never said anything about you deleting my comments, I mentioned you changing your posts to change how the thread reads, once locked. Hence the comment about it not showing that mods have changed their posts to suit. Clear enough ? The reason you got my back up is nothing to do with you calling me a dick, or whatever, Im big enough and man enough to take that on the chin, and as it goes, I did throw the first punch on the insults, I accept that. The thing that winds me up, is how you lash out just because I said that painted plastic wasnt my bag. The way you reacted is typical to how you react to anyone that doesnt agree with you, you just lash out. In this case you criticised my car, which had nothing to do with the topic at hand. Pulling the 'Im a victim card' just wont wash Val, you are always prepared to keep on tit for tat, until your imagination runs out of steam, at that point you lock the thread, and pull out the forum rule book. Your quite happy to argue with people when it suits you.
-
Im not saying you deleted anything, censorship takes more than one form, as you have demonstrated. Still, Im sure its for the 'good of the community'. Cheers.
-
I dont need to call you childish anymore, people can see that for themselves. How come my posts show when they are edited, and mods posts dont, strange that.
-
Funny but, you were quite happy to argue until you realised you made an arse of yourself. *EDIT* I'll just edit this post instead of making new ones, as that seems to be the thing to do. You cant have it both ways mate, on one hand you like to carry on like a child and say what you like in posts, then when it doesnt go your way, you give it the big 'I am' and start throwing rules around.
-
Not for yourself, but Val seems to practice this. The only reasoning was a couple of insults, then saying 'It is my thread after all' What a load of shite.
-
Does locking of threads by mods, whenever they are losing ground on a discussion/debate constitute censorship??? I would say so. Hardly fair in my opinion. Also, mods editing posts after they have locked it, doesnt really give a fair picture to other users reading the locked thread. Seems abit rich, after all the constant promotion on this site about freedom of speech, and how 'other' boards dont allow such rights.
-
Ohhh, the power, let us all kneel before you, Val, you truely are the man!!! If your gonna insult me, at least have the bottle to speak English. Your obviously busy at work then, Im at home
-
Oh right, you've still got alot to learn when it comes to English then. If someone calls you a dick, 'clever dick' isnt what people take it as. Shame it doesnt filter out childish Italian people as well, you'd be f*cked!
-
Haha, steady on fella, your letting your old childish nature take over again here, Val. Calling me names is one thing on the internet, I'd hazard a guess you wouldnt say that to my face. I will post a full blog when done.
-
You should have, but were too busy being a clever c*nt. I'll be sure to post them to aid and benefit the 'community'.
-
What, on a 55 plate car???
-
Ah well, your choice.
