  2. I agree, from what I can see, they are trying to appease everybody...look responsible whilst trying to giving people as much of a break as possible. ISA limits have been raised which is good and I guess they are trying to promote savings and trying to stimulate the property market by raising the stamp duty level to 1/4 mill.
  3. Are you contractually obliged to keep it for a certain amount of time and do a certain amount of press with it?
  4. Have just heard that the 3% hike in fuel duty is actually going to be 1% from April. Still pretty appaling bearing in mind what it was just a short time ago but could have been worse I guess.
  5. btw, for anyone thinking of doing largeish quantities of fibreglassing you need this in your life..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT Bargain!
  6. That's exactly what it is! It has one hell of a stretch in it so is perfect for what I am using it for and it also takes the resin nicely. I have already resined the inner section and will layer up the back with some matting to give it some extra strength as that won't be seen so I won't have to make it 100% good looking. I can't even remember where I got it from now but bought a huge amount a couple of years ago and have been working through it ever since on various things! Will see if I can find the details for it.
  7. Could just flock it all, pretty cheap to do and looks cool. Wouldn't matter if there was some glue residue left over either (I think)
  8. I think 90% of peoples buttons have gone through their dash! That lower panel is just held on with clips so just pull it off and push the botton back through. The O2 sensor is probably due to aftermarket cats so you may just need some anti-foulers, ZMANALEX does these I believe. As for the other electrical problems, is probably worth seeing if the AA can red any fault codes then post them up and they can be checked. I'm sure it isn't anything too drastic tbh. At the end of the day it is a free car, so if it needs a few little bits & pieces done, I wouldn't worry too much!
  9. Cheers! Update time........now the main body of the car is finished bar a few touch ups, I have been concentrating on the smaller niggly things. I have rather a lot of them on my white board job list so wanted to start knocking these off one by one. I managed to get new battery & brake fluid covers as the clips had broken off mine which was a result as they are like hens teeth! I also wanted to tidy up a lot of the wiring as I had changed my mind on he location of a few items during the build and some of the wiring was now either redundant or messy so I figured the most efficient way to sort it all out was to take it all out and redo what I wanted so I stripped the center console out & all the plastics as well as my sub box and a lot of the install. I had decided to relocate my EpiCenter from the boot to behind the passenger seat along with the NOS bottle so I rerouted all the required cables to there. While the center console was out, I fixed a small issue with the cubby flap where I hadn't put it back quite right and also painted the headunit surround to match the other colour coding. Will post pics of this later on once the camera has charged. I have decided to somewhat hide the NOS away as it is quite big and I wanted to use the bulk of the main boot space for the actual install so decided to put it behind the seat. Test fitting of the NOS bottle With deciding where the NOS was going, I fabricated a back bracket to hold it in place and modified the glovebox to be able to mount the bottle in there. I also decided to mount the EpiCenter next to it in the glovebox lid. With the seat normally sitting quite far back, I couldn't have the bottle sticking out too far as I didn't want it to mark the seat or make an indentation once they are retrimmed so I started fabricating a housing for the neck of the bottle so that once in place, it will all look flush fit. The rectangular space on the left is for the EpiCenter and the material on the right has been resined to form a housing for the bottle and will be trimmed in due course (pics to follow) The bracing looks awful but is only a temporary thing until the resin is strong enough to hold its own weight, is only cosmetic after all. I have also had some Varad LED kits sitting in my stock room so while the car was in bits, I decided to fit these to test them out. They come as a set of 4 lights and I was debating where to mount them and in the end I put one in each footwell and one in each wingmirror to act as puddle lights. (Pics of the mirror install to follow as well) I wired these in having taken the mirrors apart then routed all the cabling to the passenger rear glovebox and tidied it all away under the plastic tray. All I need to do with this now is wire up the optional input cable to he interior lights so when I unlock the car, they come on. Should look trick at night in a dark car park. I took a short vid of them as well while they were on the breathing setting. Quality is rubbish I know More to follow once I remembered what else I got up to this weekend and once the camera is charged later.
