  1. Thanks mate, that was the link i was looking for and could'nt find again to follow tomorro, wether permitting, failing that, i'm helping put a Supra engine in over the weekend, so will have all the tools for a bumper off, but hope to avoid that one Andy You cannot avoid taking the front bumper off mate...it's easy though. One pointer...the black plastic clips in the wheel arch and also on the top of the bumper in the engine bay require a knack to get them out (as I found to my cost!). Lift the centre piece and then push it in a little (until it feels free) and then lever the outer clip out. Once you have done one you can see how they clamp together. You do not need to disconnect the front washers by the way. The attached might help you as well. Neil
  2. My XDA Exec also has had problems with bluetooth, as teddy said the new version helps, have you dropped it? last problem I had was the bluetooth connection kept dropping half way through conversations, basically the motherboard had cracked, according to O2 technical, this can cause serval problems with the bluetooth settings. It works (more or less) ok with my Bluetooth headset and certainly doesn't have the same kind of problem where the voice isn't passed through but everything else works. I've had several different MS smartphones since they were first launched (what does this say about my inability to learn from past mistakes ) all of which have had issues of one sort or another - I really should just get an ordinary phone and stop being seduced by promises of convergent technology I suggest you try the Nokia 9300i communicator as I, like yourself have gone through the PDA phone route. I have no problems with the Bluetooth (tempting fate now!) and the symbian software works well. It automatically pairs with the BT adapter every time without fail. Neil
  3. Hi All, I have just had the Alloys resprayed and the CV joints replaced at Holdcroft Nissan in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. I am not on commission here but I find them very proffessional and their work is spot on and it's worth travelling the 120 mile round trip even though I have a Nissan Dealer 8 miles away! Having spoke to Lee in the Service Department and John Colley in the Parts Department (he can get you anything cheaper!), they have offered a 20% discount on BOTH parts & labour for all 350z Members. This applies to servicing as well! I am sure that John will endorse this kind offer to us in this thread, but I thought I would make you aware as soon as possible. There username is Holdcroft2005. Thank you Lee & John for offering the discount to us 'poor' 350z owners Neil

  6. No...and I am sure that one of the site administrators can clarify...when you go to the site via Explorer, a reference will be made to ensure you are visiting again by looking at your PC for a cookie that was placed the first time you logged in to the site. If you have removed cookies whilst 'cleaning' your Internet connection such a History, Cookies, Temp Internet Files, Form Data & Passwords, ('Control Panel - Internet Options - General Tab) you need to prompt the site to place another. This is where I get lost I am afraid as I do not know how to prompt the site - Can someone help Jim please? Thanks Neil
  7. I am sure you are aware of this but do you allow cookies to be placed on your PC? This is how the site knows it is you that is accessing it (I think ) Hitting 'remember username & password' in XP also helps. Neil

Has anyone bought / fitted these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-350Z-350-Z ... dZViewItem Are they cheap and nasty? (I know they are cheap!) Anyone got any better suggestions please? Many thanks Neil (PS Fitted my EBC Red Stuff Pads by the way - doddle thanks everyone for your advice)
  9. I can't see any way that you can alter any car kit settings without speaking to it and if it's in German, that's obviously a problem mate. Suggest you take it to the stealers. Alternatively, I'll buy you a german translation book. Does this mean you have to hold your telephone conversations in German as well? Neil
  10. no bollock dropped ,no need to swop the discs if they arent worn out Phew !! That's a relief. Thanks mate.
  11. I wondered that so I read the description for each (as follows) EBC V4 Greenstuff Fast/Heavy Street Use Brake well from cold Effective to above 650°C Low dust formula Generally recommended for cars producing up to 200BHP and / or NOT 4WD Triple Max Power Award winning Greenstuff are the ultimate performance/fast street brake pads you can get for your hot hatch or sport compact. These pads have a high friction coefficient, great initial bite from cold, right up to a blistering 650 degrees centigrade. Another major benefit of the Greenstuff compound is its award-winning feature of being LOW DUST. Being awarded the UK magazines Autotrade Innovation Award for its low dust features, Greenstuff pads cut down between 60-90% of the dust common with most competitive types of semi-metallic pad on your alloys keeping wheels cleaner and delivering performance at the same time. Greenstuff pads are available for a huge range of cars, SUV’s, light trucks and mini vans. EBC REDSTUFF CERAMIC High Performance Road M3, Evo, Impreza etc. Generally recommended for cars producing over 200BHP and / or 4WD Since this material was introduced in late 2003, it has received many positive write ups from performance drivers of faster cars such as the Impreza. This is a truly impressive fast road pad for repeated heavy braking. It emits far less dust than semi-metallic pads and has been proven to stop a saloon car 13 metres quicker than OEM pads from 100mph/160kph. Features EBC Brake-In TM surface coating which conditions rotor surface and accelerates pad bed-in. Average friction coefficient 0.5 Found it on http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/car/info.asp It was the bit about cars over 200bhp that convinced me! Hope this helps. Neil
  12. At the risk of sounding thick... I am just changing the pads to EBC Reds. I don't have to change the standard discs do I? I ask because everyone thinks that £113 delivered for both front and back sets is cheap - it's a pad price only? Hope I have not dropped a b*****k here? Thanks Neil
  13. Bear with me mate.. I will email the Car Kit Manufacturers for a soft copy of the operating instructions. Neil Note from Mod Team - the guide which Neil posted on a separate and later post may be found here http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2713
  14. 'list names' 'store' 'delete' 'delete all' 'redial' They are all listed on page 3-30 in the manual mate. Neil
  15. Thanks for your help. One question Val - the Nissan manual tells me 'Apply PBC (Poly Butyl Cuprysil) grease or silicone-based grease about 0.5 g (0.018 oz) per surface equally to back plate side of Inner Pad and Outer Pad.' What grease do you use? Thanks Neil
  16. I have Brembo's Val... I thought the same....there seems to be alot of room around the arch? Looked like the wing had been taken off for display purposes and yes..I was joking. Thanks Neil
  17. http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2165 with huge pictures, follow the link Thanks Val.. Wasn't planning to take the wing off though Got me thinking about Ferodo Pads now! Neil
  18. Thanks Jacko but I think I'll buy them from here...(£112) http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/ Liam - I check my nuts every hour...I'm a bloke! Neil
  19. Many thanks..appreciate your advice. Think I'll go for EBC Red if that's what everyone else goes for. All I have to do now is work out how to replace them myself Do you know what the wheel nut torque setting is by any chance? Thanks again Neil
  20. Thanks Kev & Dorian I read that thread before I posted mine and noticed that it referred to non Brembo calipers? Sorry to sound thick guys but having never bought these before, what are the best type (I do not want standards again), where can I buy them and roughly how much do they cost please? Will it affect any warranty as well? Many thanks Neil
  21. I have been told that I need to replace both brake pad sets front & rear as they are 75% worn (27,000 miles). I have been quoted £300 for the lot and I need to do this by the weekend as I am having my wheels shot blasted and re sprayed, along with the CV joint replacement, on Monday/ Tuesday next week. Can you tell me if a) that is a good price and should I be looking to buy better quality pads, if so, please tell me which I need guys. I have Brembo Calipers by the way. Thanks in advance. Neil
  22. Thanks Prescience Really appreciate your comments mate... Neil
  23. Thanks for the next day delivery John.. Paired the device to my Nokia 9300i and it works perfectly If I had one criticism, and this relates to the Nissan car kit and not the BT adapter, it is that the call volume could be louder. I can turn the volume up to hear the caller more clearly without problems, however, that bloody women 'the name please', 'pardon' and so on, ends up shouting at me the next time I make a call!! I have spent my life being shouting at by a women for one reason or another - I do not need a 'computer' to do it as well! Just have to remember to turn the volume down after every call I suppose? Thanks again John. Neil
