So, I see some folks have a picture at the bottom of every post along with their signature. How do you do that I ask? pardon my ignorance

Do we have a fitting guide on the forums anywhere?
-
Just out of interest, what is it about the Bridgestones that people don't like - is it just the wet grip? beacause I only take my car out in dry conditions, and I have no complaints at all with the std. tyres - my car seems to stick to the road very well
-
I know it's a bummer getting charged a hefty premium for something that really doesn't make much difference, but imagine how you would feel if you wrote off the car and they refused to pay out because the wheels or tyres were none standard....... I think they are taking the p**s with the extra money, but what can you do - I can't afford a total loss on the Z if the worst happens

Got a brilliant quote yesterday on the Z renewal of £386 protected NCD incl. Had to phone up to tell them about the Nismo exhaust... 'it's not stainless steel is it sir?' answer - yes. 'Oh - is the power increased?' answer 'no' 'are you sure? answer - yes! 'OK sir that will be £656 please I asked how an exhaust was a mod anyway, as you would change it when it wore out anyway - no answer.. I politely declined their offer

Of course this is a warranty issue - I don't see how anyone could argue otherwise after only a year in service - however I have not noticed anything amiss on my 05 ZR, and now I daren't look either Anyway, there is mention of similar proble here http://www.cliffshade.com/350zr/issues.asp#ragtop Quote 'Early-2004 roadsters can develop pinhole leaks in their ragtops  apparently from repeated chaffing against the rear metal strut. Oddly, the holes usually develop on the passenger side. The potential for leaks is apparently limited to roadsters (like mine) manufactured in June and July, 2003. Nissan apparently made substantial changes to the top's design and materials after that. My July, 2003 top remained water-tight for about 9 months. When a pinhole appeared in the usual location, my Nissan dealer replaced the top under warranty without a squawk. To inspect your ragtop for pinholes, get inside the car with the top up on a sunny day and look for light coming through the cloth  particularly around the bends in the rear crossbar. Confirm any pinholes with a flashlight, then take your roadster in for a top replacement (cloth plus frame) right away. Nissan has been replacing leaking tops without hesitation, but they apparently won't replace tops with partial-thickness rub marks alone.' I hope this is not a case o NMGB denying faults that have been well documented in other markets again Not very good treatment for premium model car buyers is it......

Hmm... sounds tempting - that's my neck of the woods. BTW are you allowed passengers in the car - I've never been to a trackday.

Sorry, that Z is just pimped although I do rather like the seats..
-
Allan, Sorry if I didn't make myself clear - I'm not disputing that you can get 15 bhp extra out of the engine, just wondering if that really makes a noticable difference on a car that already has nearly 280. Also regarding the learning capabilities of the ECU, I thought that mainly referred to changing fuel octane ratings and the engine adjusting to suit, not the ECU detecting a different exhaust and winding back the power to stock

It would be nice to get some feedback from the owner on this mod. Most gains being above 5000 rpm suggests there would probably not be much noticable benefit under normal driving conditions, and at best this is 5% - which is less than claimed for both JWT pop-charger and Nismo exhaust. I already have both of these and really can't tell any difference from stock. My other car is a Revo chipped Leon Cupra, which gives extra 40bhp min (over 20%) and therefore does give a massive difference in the feel of the car. Just my thoughts, but I would doubt there would be much noticable difference in a NA engine remap - I mean what can you do apart from adjust the ignition timing? I hope I can be proved wrong, but don't get your hopes up that you will get a big transformation. The JWT pop-charger claims around 12bhp and costs under £100 btw.

Hello from the far east (of England)!

Hi and How far North are you? I'm in Teesside area. -

Good on ya! what is it with all the subterfuge - it's only a web forum - some people are so insecure -
I think they are I find it strange that the chav mentality stretches to Z owners. The Z to me clearly shows a person with taste in cars, so why would you want to send out signals - btw there should be an emoticon with a burberry cap for this thread.....
-
Yes - I want
-
Fantastic - I missed that on TV as well
-
I have a JWT pop-charger and although it looks good, there seems to be negligable gains in performance - 12bhp claimed, but even that is not much on top of 276. I would say overall only buy it for the looks
-
The Nismo exhaust is quite a bit louder than standard - I have a Roadster and although it does not sound much louder than std. with top up, with top down it is pretty loud. However I am happy with mine and the build quality seems to be first class - very bling
-
I use avast free AV scanner - works seamlessly in the background - auto updates etc. and I've had no problems. Best of all it's free for life
-
Supaguard is a complete rip-off IMHO - don't bother Invest £100 in a Zymol starter kit and it will last you for years. This stuff is the best and I would recommend it unreservedly
-
I have the DVD, which I'm sure I need to back-up..... PM me your details and I'll send it to you for safe keeping
-
I can also vouch for these - they are very good quality and NMGB should start selling them instead of the cheap imitations they put out

Hi Val - I saw your posts on the 'other' site, but I didn't know where this site was then. Anyway good to see some folks from 350ZUK.com here. Who started this site then - was it yourself?
-
Hi all - Yorky here from the old 350Zuk site. Just discovered this site exists, and its freee I look forward to seeing what is going on here, cos over at the ownersclub it all seems a bit 'members only'
