  1. Jon, At 499 bhp and 384 lb/ft for the M6, your shiny new re-built twin will pi$$ on that - yes ? And just think, you won't have spent £82K ( yet ! ) Gus Quite; Off-Topic and I doubt it Not any more off-topic than 90% of the other threads on here - Jon mentioned the speed of the M6, I followed up on that, relating it to Jon's car - how exactly is that off topic ? Only 90% off topic you sure you can count LOL
  2. Something like that fortunately I had a Sicillian teach me how to swear in Italian so I think I might be OK on this no obvious traps in there that I can see LOL Cheers Tom
  3. Ok so whats Italian for the fastest Automotive protection film in the world Val (would make a good sig) LOL Cheers Tom
  4. Had the priviledge of driving a couple of these that have been through our hands, we have done loads, not surprised Ford are happy with the sales Great Car IMHO found it more intuitive to drive than the vanquish although the Vanquish is still an awesome motor car, never been behind the wheel of a DB9 though Nice motor you must be chuufed to bits Cheers Tom
  5. Absolutely I was particularly impressed by how well the film did with hi speed salt crystals flying around, for the duration, according to the guys at Honda it looked as good at the end as it did in the beginning also when you know how much we put on there and its a white car, you can not see it at all Cheers Tom
  6. Not really just rimming And bukarki which is spelt wrong, I know Bukaki is a proper good laugh if you can get a willing/drunk participant Ok I made the mistake of looking up these terms in wilkapedia and rather wish I hadnt bothered especially Bukake I would say cmon guys! but on this thread it could be dangerous LOL
  7. Joking apart they did put the thing in the wind tunnel with the film on for tests just to check it out. I saw pictures without the the film on, from their tests last year and the damned thing looked like a kids crystal farm from school Cost a fortune in development costs, but it was worth it for the guided tour around the facility alone, dear god do the F1 teams spend some serious dosh or what?? Awesome facility at Brackley if you ever get the opportunity of a visit bite their hand off Cheers Tom
  8. Hi Just thought I better qualify that last post that price is for the normal Kit not the full wings and bonnets god If I could do it at that price I would have my Villa in the south of france already Neil drop me a Pm or give me a call on 01476 592777 To discuss Cheers Tom
  9. Hi Guys I have sooooo been wanting to talk about this earlier this year we started doing some work with the Honda F1 team which we could not discuss (for me a tough assignment in itself) well now we can Joe who many of you in here know was implanted into Honda Village in Brackley to develop a kit for the Landspeed record attempt car they had been putting together, to protect the car against the abusive environment in Bonneville UTAH. Welll the boys went and done it and following designing and installing the car, the vehicle was shipped to Bonneville and Honda got a parcel of records with our film on it, what that means now is that Paintshield/Xpel (our sister operation in the US), now have the fastest Automotive paint Protection film in the world And that is documented and timed By the way the film never needed to be changed once during the whole period of the deployment!! Those of you with our product on now have bragging rights So chuffed with this I cannot begin to describe it Cheers Tom Full Story here http://www.xpel.com/relations/viewrelease.asp?id=79 Honda website herehttp://www.bonneville400.com/ Heres what we fitted to the car perhaps the most extensive Kit we have ever designed. UK RULES AGAIN
  10. The joins actually run in the bottom of the groov efor the full length you cannot see the joins except for a tiny section at the top and bottom of the bonnet flutes About 3/4" at either end. Impossible to see until you get really really close. Cheers Tom
  11. Yep the Vaseline works great Cheers Tom
  12. Hi if you dont want to use the vaseline then the beige lo tack masking tape that we are all familiar with works well too. We have ferraris and Astons come to us protected in this way It may look dumb but it works real well Cheers Tom
  13. Hi I hate these guys put the Celica in for MOT to get her sold and they cracked the laquer on the carbon bonnet basically it is so bad it will have to be trashed which has delayed me selling it. I dont understand how they are still in business if I did stuff like this to customer cars I would be shut down in minutes!!! In 3 Years we only ever had one accident and we are fully insured so that it was instantly taken care of, no grief no debate just get me the details of the pricing fill in the forms sorted. Doesn't seem that others in automotive have the same standards tho Cheers Tom
  14. According to the MD of Paintshield france (Who I rang this morning) apperently he was called an Algerian terrorist or something similar according to the French Press, no excuse I know but a bit more understandable if true Cheers Tom
  15. Might be worth checking with us on this as if you are doing agroup buy and doing them all at the same time you will need to bring them here as I doubt Protec could cope with a number of cars at the same time:) If you are going to do them over a few days then they should be fine. And yes our discounts are honoured by our distributors (they arent daft) Cheers Tom
  16. HI The Guys in Bradford (Shipley) are one of our distributors (Protec) they do a lot of Astons and such (Theres money in Yorkshire) So they should do a spanking Job for you. Cheers Tom
  17. HI We currently do have the 05 Nismo Bumper in the data base we are waiting for the first 06 Nismo to come to us we would need to do a design (no Extra charge) just needs more time. Its not a problem as we can design anything Cheers Tom
  18. Hi sarnie give me a call and I will walk you through the options 01476 592777 Incidentally done this way you CANNOT see the film it just is not there unless you get within an inch or so of the edges Cheers Tom
  19. Carl can you post a general pic of the car as it would be useful for peeps to see the finished product in its overall effect IMHO. Cheers Tom
  20. This is a tricky one, the cause is that the bumpers and other plastic components on all cars are usually manufactured and painted in a specialist plant, therefore the paint is NEVER a perfect match. It should not however fade at a different rate so the differences should stay consistent between the two areas as the paint ages. bad news is now that you have picked this up it will drive you nuts cos you will start noticing this everywhere Cheers Tom
  21. Heres a Black Porker done the same way Full Wings Bonnet and Bumper The main benefit here is it is really invisible as there is no obvious end point (unless you get really really close and of coure no muppet is ever going to key the front of this. The cameras were all out when Ian had his done and we did a Blue one the day before the same way and have no pice of that either However until Ians show up or he gets back here for a little tweaking (if necessary) then these will have to do. The full wings on a 350Z are one of the toughest things we have ever done but the end product is worth the effort Cheers Tom
  22. That would be one way to go except if they can demonstrate they really DID fire diamonds at the car in which case the ASA would not view it as misleading. They can and usually do demand proof from the advertiser. We know this as I reported a competitor for misleading statements and they were forced to pull the ad as they could not supply the proof of the claim. Cheers Tom
  23. Unfortunately none of this will do any good as the Car Manufacturers will cite that they are complying with Statutary regulations on Environmental protection. The fact is all manufacturers at every level have this problem now some are worse than others mainly due to the fact that some of them have been utilising clearcoats that have been outside of the regs (Will change this year). I have seen a 12 month old rolls with 56 Stonechips on the front!! The only solution to this issue is to fit PPF to the car, whilst the occassional Item MIGHT Get through on one in a thousand cars (Lorry wheel nut etc). The fact is that it will stop 99%-100% of the damage in most cases in regular use. Next year the mobile chip repair guys come under the regs and most of them will be forced out of business leading to a large increase in the cost of re-sprays (fixed capacity increased demand = increase in price). If you are going to get a respray I would do it this year. Cheers Tom
  24. Seems pretty much Par for the course in a quality bodyshop at consumer rates IMHO Cheers Tom
