Bennetts and Carole Nash both worth a try.

Go for it mate. Pete recommends them. I've only done one Airfield day at Elvington near York. There all pretty much the same principle, i.e. coned off and lot's off run off area, so ideal for confidence building...

My 996 was £350, which doesn't seem bad as it's my first bike for 11 years.
-
Wow that's cheap..
-
Hard luck mate. These things happen. Don't let it put you off what must be a awsome car to drive. It could have been a lazy Aussie who didn't tighten up all the hose clamps properly.

The Scooby I saw roll did it by simply overcooking Redgates and sliding into the gravel. Then the wheels dug in and he rolled it about 3 times... Best track cars to start with are cheap lightweight FWD cars such as XR2's, 205 GTI's etc. Cossie's can be cheap, especially Saphs and you can upgrade a standard Cossie engine to 330 bhp for about £200. Most are already at stage 2 as well. Why wreck your expensive road car.
-
What's the point when I have a track car already. The thing is if I wrote off the Cossie I could sell all the bits, engine etc for more than I could the complete car. Also much cheaper to fix and much more difficult to drive. I will track the Exige at some stage but unlikely to drive it as hard. I'd be worried about stone chips....
-
It would have to be the spring for me. The Cossie is laid up for the winter, no MOT & Tax etc. Sarnie seems very keen though...
-
I remember now, but I thought this was a one off event. I don't see any adverts for future dates though. The issue for me would be noise in the Cossie. I get black flagged on full chat at Donington. My exhaust is 105 Db's static, but fortunately Donington don't usually do a static before you go on track. I have to lift or change up when passing the sound meter to pass the drive by test. Also, red mist sydrome takes over when you are timing and it can end up in tears, so be prepared to right off your car. I've seen a few accidents on track days, the worse was a Scooby that rolled on Redgates at Donington. Apparently he'd had the car a montha and paid £19k for it. It was pretty much a right off with a bent roof and just about every panel on the car bent. The quicker the car the more chance of a high speed off...

What is this? Can't be ar5e'd to read 9 pages. I'm sure you were around this time last year when this was about. Basically its a semi track day on the official Top Gear track where you get some driving instruction. You then get 6 timed laps on the TG track and placed onto the leaderboard. You can then compare your time with the Stigs in your car and also how you got on against people in other cars etc Ever wondered why my status is the site Stig?? I was around but never read this thread. I'd be up for it. Are slicks allowed ? I could do it in the Cossie, although I have a diff issue at the mo. Where's the times then? PS: How much

Are you going then Steve.I'd love to meet some of the guys. You'll have me selling the Cossie and buying a race car to enter the LoT Series next....Noe there's a thought. Maybe a Cossie powered S1 Exige... Come on you London guys, surely a Zed Club stand would be an incentive. -
Ah an excuse to post a picture of the Cossie. As for what I've owned. Too many to remember. My first car was a Mk 1 Escort. First bike was a Honda XL125R.

I realise there may not be many Lotus fans on here, but this is a really cheap weekends racing so good for all motorsport fans. Tickets are on sale, (via the discounted link via SELOC), for only £5.88 each day. Normal price is £10 in advance and £12 on the day. http://www.elisetrophy.com/Brands_Hatch_10-11_November I don't think you need to own a Lotus to get the discount and who knows it may convert you into a Lotus owner one day. Saturday night is a Britcar endurance race as well. I'm planning to go on the Sunday...

Calm down Chris, were you counting on his tax contribution personally.... Don't forget he now has many young fans, e.g. Great Ormond Street. They don't understand the first thing about Tax. Then again neither do I.

He's been told to say that. The british culture is to hate the rich and wealthy, when they admit it of course. I reckon he's picked a nice place to live, fabulous all year round. I love Switzerland, only been there once in the summer and keen to go back.
-
Not when they start getting older. Mines a '99.. Maybe a RSV next.
-
Nice, I was looking for an RSV or 996, but the 996's seemed great value, probably due to potential buyers being frigthened of Ducati's reliability. Saying that mine just had £1k spent at the last service.....
-
Hello stranger!!! Bet he's gone now.....

Someone mentioned Top Gear. Just found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEzFqPXcqdI
