Top Gear this Sunday – Hamilton takes out the old Liana
Kev946 replied to GC350z's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Give Nigel Mansell more laps and he would have beaten the Stig. Bear in mind the Stig is just a national pro racer. God but not in the same league as an F1 star. His lap times are good because he has completed many laps of this circuit in that car. Also you can bet the Stig's time was recorded in the best conditions possible, i.e. temperature, dry etc.. -
I owned an Elise when they first came out. If Lotus had made the M250 I would probably be driving that and not a 350Z as I had one on order! Europa? Anyway enjoy the Zed..

Lotus....tell us more... Welcome BTW..

Speaks the track day regular...... -
Agreed bold but not as a design exercise. I'd be surprised if they make it.

Seen this on SELOC and It's still fugly. They still didn't have the balls to make an entirely new design. Considering it would have to be fibreglass due to the curves at the back they could have done just about anything. Someone over there said it looks a little like the 70's Toyota 2000GT. The window profiles are very similar. Certainly ain't nothing new.. PS: The wheels look like the M5 ones and wrong on a car like this.

Yep, wide body kit. The car is up for sale. I was talking to him, he's spent a fortune on it. It's a N/A Exige and he's added a Komo-tec S/C conversion so now running 255 bhp. The Mustang was a Shelby i think. Well it had a Shelby badge on the boot. -

Pictures from today -
I see. £160 though ain't cheap for Donno but I suppose its the GP circuit. I need to do a cheap track day to see if the diff settles down.
-
Sounds like a plan. Never done the full circuit. Is this direct with Donington Park?

My favourite kit car is this...Lancia Stratos. The original was designed and built by Betrone and shares a lot with the X1/9. Reminds me of watching the RAC rally. You can build it with a V6 3litre Alfa engine, of even a Ferrari was the original. I saw Hawk Cars at a show and their show car was so authentic it was hard to tell it was a kit car. Complete with Ferrari engine http://www.hawkcars.co.uk/hf3000/index.html Try this site for Kit Car info http://www.kit-cars.com/kcguide/replicaguide.html You might find so here plus try Pistonheads http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/6/

I'm sure people won't mind you making a quick comparison. I would have thought the ST, especially in your spec will be much quicker than a Zed. I followed an Orange ST down a slip road and onto a motorway in my 650i, and although I stuck with him up to silly speeds, I was well impressed just how quick it was. He had 4 in the car too. Obviously he was trying to impress his mates by trying to leave me for dead, so I had to oblige by sticking to his bumper... See i had a play in the zed and a mates ST and did some nice rolling sprints etc and the 350 had the edge but quite a bit. However i did notice - when in the car with my friend - that he isnt very good at changing gears and changes way too early, which could be why the zed had the advantage Especially with a turbo, as it could come off boost.

I've just read a post on SELOC. A guy posted at 5:30pm He was close it was 8 minutes... They deserve to loose and at least we can hopefully then waive goodbye to McLaren.
