  1. I've got the illuminated one. It's nice
  2. Gosh, I was arse-raped then. I got Bridgestone Potenza S-03's though - not cheap.
  3. Oh no! Then you'll have to put THIS part in Off Topic discussions, and the other half in...

    HKS Turbo kit

Crumbs! I would ask the J-Tuner boys but... oh dear, the mag's folded. PS - this unit looks nice. Strange marketing pitch though - going for a tuner customer by not including all parts for a turn-key solution, but making it the sort of kit that provides reliability and day-to-day driveability, which isn't always a tuner's priorities. It'll have a niche though, especially as there's not a wealth of proven single turbo kits in the UK. Good luck with it!
  5. Definitely. What make/size you guys?
  6. Eh? You just said you could get them half price.
  7. Can we all queue up to give you one back?
  8. for 4 * 19" wheels? 2 * £250 rear, 2 * £200 front. Remember I have 9.5" wide rims at the back. And that price is fitted (no small effort).
  9. I was tempted to But that said, that thread has kicked off somewhat already. I read the whole thing. There's some serious angst amongst the main tuners and sponsors on there. PS I'm infinitely more qualified to know what is and isn't a joke. Let's not forget that
  10. Ooh get you! Is this possibly the only car forum where the *moderators* tell the members to f*ck off when they're told they're posting in the wrong forum? It's NOT AN FI UPGRADE. It's as much related to FI as using higher octane fuel is (i.e. a big improvement in conjuction, but with NA benefits nonetheless). So it shouldn't be in this forum. Stop being stubborn and move *this* thread, don't start a new one. That's cross-posting and I believe it's not allowed on this board
  11. Hmmm. Changing tyres is a £900 expense for me... I'll just avoid rainy days for now
  12. I typed out a huge reply to this thread at 10:45 am and then the power in Brighton went off for two hours. And yes, I have a UPS, but no, my router wasn't attached to it :grrrr: Anyway. In a nutshell: My 2nd hand Vortech no problems, Novidem clutch technlogoy used on Blitz kits for 8 years, Recommend Vortech anyway, Val getting married is no excuse - my sc was fitted while I was on honeymoon, perfect time for a ridiculous expense (as that's what a wedding is), 0-60 times will kill your clutch anyway, so factor that cost in if you will do lots of standing starts. Whew Stephen
  13. Sorry, I was obviously being too subtle. Move the thread Val - it's not an FI power upgrade. Don't want to look like you don't know what you're talking about, do you ...
  14. Good shout on the Bridgies, but Falkens? Never in a month of Sundays!!! I had the Falkens on my old Celica, they were absolutely lethal in the wet - really - like trying to balance a penny on a beachball.
  15. Nice, but why put this in FI? This is a performance upgrade that NA people can have.
  16. Good to know I'm not on my own there. Bap - I have lots of tread left, and they're Bridgestone Potenzas, which aren't known for being too shoddy in the wet, though I haven't ruled them out. That said, it's not the speed that appeared to be the problem, but the rear end lightening up under power. I was wondering if my aftermarket spoiler is actually lifting the car up, but that would imply it was speed related.
  17. My 'beater' is in the bodyshop, so I'm having to use the Z for journeys I wouldn't normally - i.e., work. Hence I drove it to Chertsey Weds, and Southampton yesterday. All good (despite the terrible feeling I get leaving it parked on a public road in a town centre), but on Wednesday, the roads were quite damp. And then I suddenly realised... in all my time owning and driving this car, I've never had it on a wet road with the supercharger on. And my God is it hairy. Hairy, in fact, at speeds so low that it would be the same without the charger attached. Blip the throttle in almost any gear at almost any speed and traction brakes instantly - on all 4 wheels sometimes - such that the ESP can't help you. I was overtaking on the motorway at 80mph, quite leisurely, and then blipped the throttle a touch too hard and suddenly I was sliding across the lanes. Teeth-gritting stuff!
  18. Have fun, and welcome to the world of grins
  19. I would have thought about £2K less, must admit the TT is a tidier setup and the vortech is noisy but I didn't want the aggressive TT feel Cheers allan for clarification Nearer £3K for a correct setup - the install is lengthier with the APS also.
  20. Good thread! Firstly, the Supra comment is correct. Toyota, despite pouring an astonishing amount into F1, have no sports offerings at all and have no plans for one in the future either. Only the Lexus LFA-1 is on the Toyota horizon. Madness, eh? The noises from Nissan is that the new GT-R would get a simultaneous worldwide release because it will not be rebadged as an Infiniti in the US (which seems mad). Also, the £50K price estimate is almost definitely too low; I'd add about £15K - £20K to that.
  21. Have been watching both threads on both sites. The comment that surprised me most was that someone complained about the chat being all about BMW's. A valid point, were it not for the fact that the forum in question is called 'Other Cars'.
  22. There's another Brighton one - a big one - next Saturday. Come along to it http://www.brightoncomedyfestival.co.uk ... grant.aspx
