  1. Bl00dy rip-off I have a pdf of the 2003-06 UK owners book ( note there will be some differences for JDM imports and MY06 models). Can someone host this somewhere for people to dowload ? Else, email me your address and i'll send Gus
  2. I paid £120 ( I supplied oil ) for my p2 Gus
  3. Stone chipping - yes ( but varies greatly from car to car ) Blistering - he's talking b0llocks Gus
  4. I bought a set of Auto-Socks ( they don't do the exact size, the biggest they do is slightly too small ). The one day I needed to use them last year, I couldn't actually get them fitted ( had not bothered trying them beforehand - but had seen pictures of someone on the other channel who had fitted them ) I found that there was just not enough space between the tyres and the arch to get your hands in and to manoevre them over the tyres. As I was at home, I gave up after about 10 minutes with the backs of my hands all scrathed. If I had been stuck somewhere I'm sure I would have perservered more, and if necessary I would have jacked the car up a bit to get some more clearance between the tyres and bodywork. Be warned - these are by no means easy to put on ! Gus
  5. Well, that's cleared that up that No idea what you're on about mate Gus

    Shell Optimax

My 3 local Shell garages are all out of Optimax at the moment - wonder if that's the reason Gus
  7. Most annoying things for me are :- 1. Not having a separate clock that is on at all times - would like to use the computer for showing digital speed, etc 2. Headlight washers 3. Being absolutely useless in the snow Gus
  8. That is a cheap dealer, I was about £120 for a P2 ( also supplying my oil, and with the 10% discount ). Gus
  9. Funky, we had one on Monday evening, well was a mini-meet, as in Derek-ZR, Alex and myself met in Livingstone and drove thru' to Motherwell to catch up with Val who is up here working during the week. Sorry you missed that thread, and I'm sure we'll be having some more. Revsport was keen to come, but couldn't make it, so he'll be up for one I'm sure. Gus
  10. Val, As we were discussing on Monday evening, CE28 Gus
  11. 40K - if only. They're talking about £70K I think.
  12. The first official oil change is 9000 - it is OK to go fully synth at this mileage. Some people will go for an additional early change at 1500, or 2000 or 3000 - it was previously recommended to go semi-synth at this point Gus
  13. Chris, I don't think that can be right. The Nismo definitely failed the UK limit, which is why it's not offered as part of the dealer pack when you buy a new car ( it was originally intended to be available as an option along side the bodykit and wheels). I have seen the official post from Nissan explaining it all, but can't put my finger on it. I think the UK limit figure was in the 90's , so perhaps all your individual model figures are correct and perhaps you UK limit figures are not right ?? I 'll keep looking Gus
  14. I "think" I remember reading that the UK bose stereos were linked in some way to the car that they were originally installed in, so you could not install it into a different car. Sounds like you would need to get Nissan ( or someone else who knows how to do this ) to reset the uk headunit to allow it to play in your car. Hopefully someone else will confirm/deny this Gus
  15. Was your dealer able to tell you which Nismo kit you will get - the "old" one, or the "new" one ? I'm assuming here that you and the dealer are aware that there is a new Nismo kit out now. Someone on the other side was getting their front Nismo bumper replaced as part of a claim, and Middlehursts fitted the new style one, which he didn't reaklly like. Gus

    Zeds Here!

All I can say is it's a good job I wasn't still hungry by the time we got to dessert Good to meet Val and Derek again, and Alex for the first time. Let's see how long Alex sticks with his plan to not put any mods on ! Go on, you know you want to Next time Lew hopefully, and we can see all your hard work ! Gus
  17. I bought from Arnold Clark at Sighthill, Edinburgh. They no longer have the franchise. I've had a service at Arnold Clark, Livingston. Seemed OK ( service very cheap ) I've been out to have a look at the new Alex Noble dealership near Penicuik - salesman was a bit of an enthusiast, gave a good impression. He even recommended an ex-Nissan mechanic colleague who has set up his own garage where work would be a lot cheaper than franchise Gus
  18. They are becoming standard on the new revised 06 model Gus

Derek, you got a postcode or description for Deer Park ? I don't know Livingston at all. Also, if you PM me a mobile number, I can let you know by 6pm whether or not I'll be coming - will save you waiting around wondering. Gus
  20. The time is out by one hour - not sure if it's been like this since the clocks changed last week, or if something else has happenned Gus

Depending where it is, then one of the PDR ( Paintless Dent Removal ) companies such as Dent Wizard, or Dent Master, etc, etc may be able to get the dent out. To do so, they need to be able to get in at the back of the dent, they then use metal rods, with rubber ends to push the dent out. Doesn't sound as if it would be much good, but I had one just above the rear arch that you can no longer see. Note that they don't do any painting ( as the P in PDR implies ) Gus
  23. Don't think so - Laser Jammers are definitely illegal though Gus

Pretty busy at work these days, not sure when I'll get out. Where you staying Val, I'll possibly try and make it, but can't guarantee anything. Be good to see you and Derek again - wouldn't like to miss a Scottish Z meet - think I've been to them all ( ie 2 ) so far ! Gus
  25. Be aware that most of the hand held guns are Laser these days, as they can target a small area a lot more accurately ( ie further away, so less chance for you to see them and brake ). Also, if you do get a Laser detector, and it registers then basically you're already caught at that speed, no chance to slow down, as it is more or less an instant reading. Gus
