Do not think it will look like this when released but can you get any sleaker http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/95466 ... m-v10.html

Kev, I am a big Lotus fan but at £48k it is way to close to the GTR which has entry point at £53k http://secure.gtrnissan.com/index.html? ... nfigurator For the extra approx 10% I would go GT-R About the Nissan badge, looks like its not just the badge....they have problems with spares causing delay http://www.gtrblog.com/index.php/2008/0 ... ays?blog=4 and now the bonnet is popping when it shouldn't. http://www.gtrblog.com/index.php/2008/0 ... cti?blog=4

Another 7 to compete with the GTR (performance wise)
steve_b replied to steve_b's topic in Other Cars
Why not. Totally different car and reason to buy, but now when I think about performance then I think about the GTR and if anything else is as fast as it. Hence the comparison of this 7 to the GTR as its now my benchmark. As an everyday car I would choice the GTR everytime before the 7, on a track would choose the 7 everytime. With both you would never need anything else except something to tow the 7 around and right now that would probably be a M5 touring for me. -

Just do it andy. you may still get one cheapish, but in the next 2 months when weather is better and races start then price goes up. Even lower power ones are great fun. but this would be worth a look as Dave Andrews is king. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/400143.htm Even if you keep it for 2 years you are looking at less than £2k loss which for a 4-sec car is as good as it gets. -
well Caterham just bring out a new R500. 0-60 in 2.88 The duratec may take it up to 150mph if similar to the CSR. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=17883 £37k is not OTT either but still steep.

I was not saying Phil is in it for a fast buck. My view point only comes from a business perspective and a business only runs on its bottom line, not its reputation. But the reputation massively effects the bottom line. I am suggesting that Phil given his great service would make a premium compare to a back-street trader and could gain similar margin that a Nissan dealer would want, yet he would still provide a better service than a Nissan Dealer. By the way a Nissan dealer is easily make 2-3k out of everyone that is buying a £20k motor whether we like it or not. 10% margin is not a lot really. If Nissan had the reputation or public perception of Porsche then I think they could make another £10-20k profit on the GTR, but they dont so cannot. If the GTR had that Porsche badge on the front but still the same performance then they would sell 1000's of them at over £70k.

Phil, Think it is all about knowing your market. What I mean is people paying top dollar are willing to pay that much more for the better service and reputation of the company. They know that you will get looked after since the company have a lot more to lose if you are not looked after. How that fits in with cars sales are: If you are selling sub £10-15k cars then no one will pay and extra £2-3k just because its you. If the car is closer to £20-25k then yes I would pay more to deal with the right company. But then can you be better than the dealer. I say yes as you are getting sorted car and you pay extra, a dealer you are just getting high price but still could end up with a lemon, the dealer is just going to fall back onto the warrenty to ensure they do not have a cost to them. If you can take a £10-15k car and customise to order, taking the price back up to the £20k mark then yes again you will make the extra £2-3k

If you get it serviced by nissan dealer ask them to approach NMGB and see if they will pay for "part" of the fix....They may pay for everything except new tyres if you are very lucky and they want to improve their image for customer relations.

Major credit to H5 for pulling off a joint meet. still cannot believe it so you are a GOD.... Now if the above pic of our logo stays on their site will be well impressed and looks like its all blown over now. I am glad. Good to see you all enjoyed it. Sorry I could not come but think not so many meets are open for non-zed owners (ex-zed owners) pity as still like the zed just cannot do what I wanted it to do.

Try Bracknell tyres, they may do them not sure. I use them for tyres as cheapest. I think I know the one John uses as I got tracking done there. Very friendly give them a call. Purleytyre 01189 843 217 26/28 PURLEY RISE, PURLEY ON THAMES, RG8 8AE

Sorry Anyone have contact details/mobile for zebedee. He is at the the bike race today and wanted to have a chat urgently

Did it look like plato had a rolling start on the 2nd race on TV. looked like it to me. By the way the beemers looked good. Also did they show any of the other races. There was a jap driver (yakamoto I think) in the renault series with NISMO stickers, was walking around the pits area when they started and was funny watching two Japanese Nismo chaps speaking to 2 French Renault engineers all in the UK.
-
Anyone know when/if its is repeated as just been there all day and the 2 bigger off's looked great from the sidelines. Jelley hit someone into paddock and Plato rear-end a vaux and chap thrown into wall between gb bend and surtees..

Well done chap

No wonder why Nissan had to make this car so good. Its the only way someone will pay £55k with nothing else up to the standards you would expect with that price point car.
-
Just proves its a good place to be since people still hang around even after their zed has gone.

I ran the Nismo braid lines supplied and fitted by RJN for 2 years with road and track use. Think they mad a big difference in feel but not stopping power. Just seems that after a bit of track work they did not have as much fade/pedal travel compared to normal pipes. I did 6-7 track days in the Zed including the Ring, Abbeville, Brands GP, Silverstone, Anglesy and Bedford and the biggest gain is changing the fluid. Also 40,000 road miles with braided lines. 10,000 miles with Nismo pads and 5,000 miles with DS2500 front pads. Recommend the Nismo pads (less noise than DS2500), EBC fluid and Braided pipes. Think upgraded brake kit is OTT unless you are going to have a dedicated track car. Only speaking from experience as not a car mechanic or in the car trade, so only independent views here.

Closing this 30mins before the draw tonight. So far only 3 people in it. If you have donated but not posted here please do so as ONLY working from this list. -
I did say it was long thread and may not be worth reading every post, BUT goes to show the positive impact of the internet when the small guy challenges the Big boys. The word spread like wild fire and I am sure the dealer has suffered more financially than if they did the right thing first off. Page 49 loads for me, think they have done most of the work as the original poster has gone quiet and most think it be related to a confidentiality clause. Everyone that is taking it further is on a "mission" and some people did act in a way I would have not. PS tells a story about where ebay stand and how much help they will give you.
