TrackDay SHOW 29/30 April 2006 FIRST 10 TICKETS FREE!

Val, If you bring the tickets tomorrow, then I can meet up with Grant. If will be in a hotel close to Rockingham Sat night and therefore people can get them from there. If that no good, then can you mail them out. Steve -
Hagar, I got my car new from Fish, got the first service done there but will NOT use them again. I had problems with my gearbox and they where not helpful at all, I almost had to cancel Le Mans last year as they could not tell me if it was safe to drive. I did not like the attitude to them fixing my phone kit issues, which still is not fixed, and therefore for P2 I used the Reading dealer. I will use Reading again, even with the fact that I can get 10-15% off services at Fish since I got the car there. I would prefer to pay a little extra than get bad service. Just my opinion but I would avoid if you can. Steve

Arrangements for this weekend @ Donny!
steve_b replied to Removed's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
Gents, I am off to Vegas on Tues am, got to leave my house at 6am. So will only be able to make the Saturday. (I am on track tomorrw so thats another 6am start) Sorry to let you down on the Sunday but work must be done before I leave for the states. I will meet you at Donny Services if that is where we need to be. Steve -
Someone may correct me on this, but Yellow EBC may not be "e type" approved. The problem with that could be insurance companies may be a bit iffy. As I said, may not be true as just reading an advert in "Circuit Driver" yesterday it had "e type" on reb and green.. Steve

Hagar, Cannot rember the cost, but the disc was from the JP Bedford cars, they replaced OEM with others. You will be okay with OEM. They really only had deliverly milage but half the price of the dealer, I only needed them as I really did not change the pads soon enough. Steve
-
Space do you find the Nismo pads a little more prone to screech...not a real problem but happens slightly more than basic OEM pads. Steve
-
Bob @ RJN motorsports did mine, fluid-disks-pad-brake line They are really good and you can see some real sorted 350Z. They were cheaper than getting it done at a dealership. http://www.rjnmotorsport.com/ 01235 868000 Ask him if he will do discount for 350z-uk members.....should be okay. Very close to Williams F1 team at Grove so not too far. Steve
-
Hagar, I do not have them but from track experience.... There was a chap with a Porker GT3RS that had them standard fit, first thing he did was remove them and fitted normal. The reason, not much in performance gain but he said they woulf cost over £10k to replace, therefore not work the money. He would refit when selling the car. My adice would be spend your money on something else. Steve

BLADE/GM they all look the same Coupe leaving Wallingford
steve_b replied to WoREoD's topic in Spotted or Flyered
I have no problems telling Blade from GM. John, your eyes are starting to fail you or the bright yellow is tinting your vision. Steve -
Looks great.....keep them coming.

Looking good....certainly worth moving from the Zed to one of these when they are released. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=13606 Steve

Chris, Great post and now we know a lot more about the why and what for. I am really grateful it happened and appreciate the really hard work you and others have put in. My personal opinion is still that both clubs serve the same purpose: That is to have a bunch of friendly faces who help and advice with a shared common interest around the 350z. Just because I pay for one and not for the other makes no difference to me. I get advice and information from both, I get discounts from both, I get meets from both, I get a forum and chat room on both, I even get stickers from both. I do not need a hidden area as I have nothing to hide so everything that I need is here, apart from a few people on the other site that have not also joined this site (It’s the only thing missing for me). My belief is that this site is a club for owners of the 350z and expand and that family to the site in the US and other countries. Hence it is an Owners Club. I would like them to join and get rid of this “them and usâ€

Testing the waters on another track day.
steve_b replied to steve_b's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
Yeap, how did you guess, there is 2-3 other tracks, Criox etc. Need to see if there is enough intrested and numbers of possible people, then from that can get price. PS You been yet as its a great circuit, not airfield. Want to see how many Zeds take the first 2 corners in one. -

Also if I could book a track in the north of France, 45 mins from tunnel (tunnel is about 80 and you could pick up supply of wine/French food) how many would be interested. This would be exclusive to us or anyone that we agreed, not an open invitation public day. -
Gents, Ladies Would anyone be up for another Abingdon track day on the 30th of June. Likely to be good weather, so who's up for it. Steve
-
Gents, Be careful about timing as you may get thrown off. You can use the on-board stop watch, that’s what I did at the Ring, but only because you are away from the marshals and the start/finish is 2 bridges which are on the straight, therefore safe to take one hand off the wheel. On UK track would not recommend it really. The video is not a timing device, but will get the results of how long it took and will see the line and if you got it wrong. Steve John, really up for Abingdon again as only got take twice last time out and have now been told that I have another 1000 RPM to use before the limit kicks in so looking forward to testing it out at 8000 rpm. Steve

Anyone going to the BTCC meet next Sunday Steve
-
Kai, What GPS do you have since you can get POI's databases that show camera and their limits. I use this site with my TomTom on PDA: http://checkpoint.oabsoftware.nl/ and http://www.poiedit.com/ or if Go then http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/tomtom-go-poi.php Steve

Val the other thread was in the members only area. It has now been closed, bit premature in my books but its is private and closed. Steve sure mate what other thread anyway? I guess it's in the members only section then, as I can't see it
-
John, Experience may say go down the gears and keep the power on, then greater exit speed and less chance of lift off-oversteer. If need be, I can take the 350z out at an Abingdon day and let you compare the 2. Were you really any slower or was it that someone had a TT. Were others pulling away. Steve
-
John, I have been with 4 different track people and none allow timing. The big reason is insurance, if you must get timing the best way is to use a camera and get timing from that. There is also a devices that measure G and timing of 0-60 and similar ranges. I do have a bullet cam if you want to borrow, do you have a camcorder with AV in. May be able to post vid of Abingdon from mine and friends elise if I can find the blinking firewire card for my laptop. Steve
