  1. Bring both.... there would not be a limit on the number of cars...you would only pay once. does not mean a mate can drive one and you the other and only one pay, but there would not be a problem with you having 2 cars. I always do as I tow the 7. steve
  2. If its single seater and open wheels it will not count for free place, but I think Andy will still allow it if you ask nicely.
  3. All, Just back from France (Croix and Abbeville) and had a word with Andy. An "activity day" can be arranged, it cost £900 to hire one part of circuit, £1000 for 2 parts. Typically they have 30 cars, which is about £35 each. You will not get a cheaper way to safely test your car. Also first who beats my time for the mini circuit will get his place paid for by me. (I will be using the 7) With 30 people you will not get one-2-one training but a very safe place to have fun. 1-2-1 can be done on the Carl limits site. Andy will give you advice. You do not need helmets for this, so no extra hire costs. No cost for passenger rides either. For local hotels: not bad at £51 a night fort up to 3 adults. (it is less than 10 mins from North Weald) http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hote ... NorthWeald Just be careful not to let your wife/partner run riot in Bluewater with credit card in hand. If people are serious about it, I will do in-car video 15 Sept if you want to wait.. George, you will have fun and you are with very nice chap in a black 111s S2 Elise, enjoy it.
  4. Gents, I also do a day with Andy that is just for the LoT boys. We have about 20 of us and it cost approx £25 which is subsidised by the club. (one thing, some of the club act as marshal’s to save on money, so slightly less driving time for them but not a problem as an all dayer has plenty of time.) Is anyone interested. Even if we only get 10 of us, would be like £70. (please note that’s during the week, weekend are more expensive to hire the place) Let me know and I will ask him at the weekend. George, Let Andy take your car around and show you what it can do, if you want him to drift it let him know. My time for mini circuit was more than 10sec slower than him, think he did it in 51 with the quicker car, 53 with mine.) If you are into old aircraft take a camera for lunch as there is lots of odd ball stuff. Steve
  5. Jim, Yeap thirteen inch not 18 Sarnie, Some would say not really a kit car, but a classic designed by Colin Chapman 30+ years ago. But I not to fussy and so a kit car it is.
  6. If you want proper track day tyres then its got to be on 13 inch.
  7. Andy used to do it at Knockhill but I think the demand was not there. I will ask him, as he may know others. How many scot's would be up for this.
  8. The more notice the better for me. Steve
  9. I would say an Andy Walsh day is ideal. You can get you and 3 mates and he will teach you quite a lot about the car and how to take it to the limit. Going on track at airfield may be crowded and have risks. andy will set up a couple of courses when you go on your own, he has high speed corner designed to ensure you take it just beyond the limit of the car and the driver. Has massive ruin off and is designed to teach you where the limit is. I would be willng to take one of the 4 places if you want, also think I will see him Friday/Sat so can ask if him. See his site: http://www.carlimits.com/
  10. Andy, Will more than likely be buying with money raised on UK house. It will be quite cheap, approx £100k as just looking for something to use when doing track days and the odd weekend. If I get it, may even offer a weekend or two on here, if you cut the grass (or turn on the heating if during winter) and redirect any mail if there is any. Glyn, Will PM you after the weekend as going out to Croix and Abbeville to do tracks and also have a look around. Thanks for the offer. Steve
  11. Nothing wrong with his driving, esp when 3 in the car. Sod off! I've seen you drive
  12. Looking at get a cheap house in north France, between Abbeville and Croix to be precise. Anyone got experience of buying abroad. Steve

They even let cars other than Lotus join. Think there is now 3 Zed's. Do not know how many cossie, but have seen a couple M3, CSL and one M5, no 6's Some old striped 3's. You will not get any cheaper, anywhere. I also use MSE for airfield days. LoT even starting proper race series, but will be limited to Elise S1's to restrict the spend -to-win syndrome.

Kev, Best bet is at http://www.lotus-on-track.com/events.html Brands GP is fully booked and would have been good. SPA is probably your next best bet for speed track. Silverstone in Nov may be wet, but for £99 would will not get better value.
  16. As in title, you going to Abingdon on the 1tth of Aug. I will and a couple from work in elise/exige will be, be good top see you there. Steve

Back in the early nineties the X1/9 was what I really wanted. Thought of it as the predecessor to the MR2 even if by different companies. Glad you enjoy the Bemmer, did think about swapping my Z for a 535d when everything on the other site was getting SAD when bitter and twisted people pi55 you off. But back to loving the Z now. Still want to see that cossie round the track, I am at Abingdon on the 11th if you are going past. Have a look at LoT as lots of great people there and lots of days organised. Steve
  19. Everything is similar, we are both OWNERS Clubs no question on that, we are not JUST a forum, we have meets, discounts etc....., the 2 differences for me are You do not have to pay for anything here, ie, you get discount and meets 100% without payment. (please ask them to explain what you get for your money then see what the response is.) Most on here are very friendly without attitude to new people who do not pay. I have never seen anyone being bullied here but have on many occasion seen it there, mainly only by 2-3 people, the rest are also great and many are members of both. It is worth saying that bridges are getting built and thing are getting better. Try post the same question over there with links to this site and see what happens, we don't mind links to them on here. By the way Steve

Looks real nice. The only one bit I do not like is the boot line, very similar to the 7 series. Everything else looks great. Is the X19 yours also. How does it drive compared to the Z.
  21. Any chance for entertainment we can get people like Disgsy and Stephen G to do a slot. I know at min we would need to cover their costs but I am willing to contribute to that. Just throwing things out to see if they are go'ers, if not do not shoot me, as just trying to help. Really would like a track driving experience if we could. Steve
  22. ming, Think Blacky is have a bad day also and his father needing an ambulance may have clouded his judgment on the post. Sure he will be back soon and let you know his real thoughts. This really is the friendliest forum I post on, please do not let a one-off make you think different. Steve
  23. stick around chap, situations always and I am sure you will miss it
  24. sorry, post my last one, BEFORE reading the other thread and theirs. 2007 it will be then.
