  2. Great photo of a CV joint going and the oil straight onto exhaust.
  3. Gents, Been away so sorry it has taken time to post this but those intrested but did not make it has a look at http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?doc ... 6627485279 & http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?doc ... 2338884148 They are at Snetterton on the 24th of April and I can recommend it for packed grid. 4. Looked a fantastic day and really sorry I missed it, hope we get as many at Silverstone. All I got over the weekend was a way to remove your finger prints for a couple of days, involves french cement that sets in 2 mins and not wearing gloves when you apply it.
  5. Think he misspelt the name on the door should have be "donkey !!"£$"
  6. Well I have had them fitted at Oxford for free a couple of times. Was for the 7 and I do not think the chap had seen slicks before so did not charge me. Will use them again for road next time.
  7. Cheers Kev, the link is the same place as above I posted and yes its very good. Will be doing it on Saturday so fingers crossed. PS watch the Elise Trophy race on MotorsTv this Friday at 8 if you want to watch a good race.
  8. Who wants to buy a custard car.....? Who wants to get BACK into France????
  9. If you pass Abbeville on Monday or Croix-en-Ternois on Tuesday pop in to see some good driving french style. PS its a long trip on Thurs-Friday so you may want to check the timing. It is likely you can do it but will not see much on the way.
  10. Gents found this site http://homepage.ntlworld.com/de.sullivan/ very good for the complete novice as has link to explain what each setting is, example ones and also a link to Swedish site with an app to do the Math so great. Thanks for the help chaps. Where I am people may be pointing to wrong satellite not Sky (Astra 2) therefore no good following them. they may be close so will have a go at the weekend.
  11. cheers beavis, it is sky but it needs to be offset due to location and do not want to say too much about that. According to the off sets it seems you need to point to the ground by a few degrees. When I did this the meter picked up better but did not know if that was because of reflections from ground or really the correct angle. What ever I did the Sky box did not get a lock....so no signal strength on it, therefore no pic. Do not know if I have to do something with LNB as did it before but did not write the key sequence to get to the Sky box to go in maintenance mode.
  12. Gents, Not car related but kind of hoping someone out there may be able to help. I am looking to setup a Sat Disk but really not sure how. Followed http://www.satcure.com/tech/compass.htm but just not getting it done. No reference from house round where I want to put it so cannot cheat easily and line up quickly then fine tune using SLX satellite meter. please help
  13. Only think wrong is the custard colour.
  14. Saw Maxi Jazz crash his Porsche at Brands last year.
  15. Come on Chaps, White is the new Yellow, keep up.
  16. you've come to the right place for a helpful and knowledgeable Zedders. Hope you enjoy the game. Think we have a box at Reading, normally only used for fottie.
  17. Never been in on, but been on track with them and are super quick. Quicker than any elise I know of and that includes 300 BHP one. One word of warning, I know of a VX220 that hit the back end of a Noble at very low speed (at bedford) and the damage was £14k. Looks like easy to damage the clam to quickly.
  18. getting might popular over in NI.
  19. Sign of a true track car when the centre caps are missing.
  20. Okay. Kind of busy then. If all else fails who's up for meeting near Silverstone on the Sat. Steve Burns do you know if there is anything at Silverstone worth watching. Its in between Monaco and Canada so may be some testing. Official testing is 19th-21 but that not the only time they will be at Silverstone. Seems there is a Aston Martin meet. We will be running races for the two AMOC Championships, the St John Horsfall Trophy Race, the Rawles Motorsport Austin Healey Club Championship, the Irish Porsche Open, an AMOC 50s Sports Cars Team Challenge race, the Mike Windebank Memorial Trophy Race (Sunbeam challenge race) and an invitation allcomers race at the end of the programme.

    clutch life

Got my car in Dec 04, did less than 10k before May 2005 at Le Mans. Thought I had killed clutch then, but now have done 37k in total. The clutch pedal does seem high, but if it was killing flywheel I would have guessed it would NOT last another 25k miles. Word of warning if you think it is going get it checked as the clutch is cheaper replacement than clutch and flywheel together.
  22. Digsy, Did you get them to move the aerial, does help a little but still not great.

    clutch life

Thought mine had gone at Le Mans 2005. However it has since done another 20,000 miles. Seems to go loose if you cane it, however took it easy on the way back from Le Mans as I did not have European breakdown. Since then has a high biting point but still going strong.
  24. Did it only for the first one at 500 miles. Used to be the "done thing" a couple of years ago but no-one has mentioned it for a while.
  25. Anyone wants to go to France (£50 return on Tunnel) on the 2nd June. I provide shelter, but you need to bring sleeping bags. (40 mins from tunnel) Get cheap beer and set up big BBQ, beach on Sunday. Could be interesting driving different cars at http://www.stadium-automobile.fr/ on the 2nd.
