  1. Would be interested but no hols left either, only 3 days left for the next 6 months. Looks good, out of interest how much is training with the 75. Have fun.
  2. Watch out for a return of the cars converted into boats. They were filming them done at dover docks last friday next to the speedferries dock. Did not see hammy or others but there was about 10 cars-trucks and the "VW camper boat" Toyota pick with outboards and the triumph with a sail.
  3. No probs H5, just back from driving Le Mans and was worth the wait.
  4. Sarnie, Cracking car, would love one but do not have the $$$$ By the way were you at Norton 1:00pm on the 12th....as spotted on the Lotus forum "giving it beans"
  5. Sorry was up in scotland yesterday and today, else could have given you the keys to my house. Not a hotel but you would have the place to yourselves. Have used http://www.lacourderemi.com/ ((the room with 2 baths facing each other is great) Those are good locations for the tracks I visit but not much else there. North of france is manly industrialised. Have also use http://www.gites-de-france.com/gites/fr/gites_ruraux but mainly for longer stays.
  6. Rob, You will not need new rubber or pads unless they are close to replacement already. Just do not go made with braking late, make sure you have a cool down lap, and 100% do not leave handbrake when coming off, just do not park on hill and then push the car a half the circumference of the wheel after 5 mins. PS would not do a big circuit like Brands GP or Silverstone GP first time out as you will get high speeds, Brands Indy is plenty to get a feel for what the car can do. Bedford is still going to be the safest place for newbie.
  7. My house is 40 mins from Calais. What do you like doing....Le Touquet is best bet as tourist thing and is where the Parisians go for summer break, even know as Paris-Plage http://www.letouquet.com/index_en.aspx There s 2-3 tracks that are within 2 hours if you are into that.
  8. Trying to sell a 7 or Westfield in the winter is going to be mega difficult and the prices drop like a stone. Buying now will also be at a premium. Try Seloc for a older Elise great car but the cheap ones are getting snapped up for hi-power upgrades so make sure if it is really cheap then there is nothing wrong with it.
  9. If cash limited one of these would be worth having. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=16328 650 BHP/ton if you got a bit more kicking around then http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=16349 at 1045 BHP/ton is the one to die for. Digsy good luck with your search, I went to see the Z4 but it cannot have a tow bar no matter how many people you ask to check.
  10. Not seen the article but I did the spot of the car. Everyone at Z parade lap also saw it as its the L22 UST one.
  11. Some good pics boys.... even seen myself on the parade vid. I got 9.7 mph and I think 9.5 for the second go, also had to change the brake pads at work today. Looks like one of my laps was 1.25 from the official pics, last years time attack record was Club Challenge NA 1:11.699 so way slower, mind you there was quite a bit of traffic on the track sessions. Anyone else work out their times. My quickest seems 1.23 which is only a couple of second different to Val so I also below to the tortoise club.
  12. Chaps, It is very close to the circuit, if you keep an eye out for the camera then it only a few hundred yards from it. For the northern monkeys, it would be easy to get there as less than 5 mins past the circuit. Do not know exactly if there is a right turn or if you would have to go past and do a u-turn. (from the google map looks to be a right turn) Chris & LB you have mail. Will get there for 8.00 then wait until 8.15ish if sign-on at 8.30 Val, steve will we have parking close to sign on as silverstone car parks are HUGE, are we in the middle. PS will bring track guide for those that have not been before, may even point out where I took the front off my caterham against the pit wall.
  13. Make sure you print lots out......if its turns out to be sticky can you put my name down for some.
  14. Chris I can meet up as coming from Oxford. Can meet at service station just off M40 or the pub car park on the south side of the A43, it s just after the camera. All other remember that there is 2 forward facing camera's from the M1 direction and one from the M40 direction. PM me if you want my mobile number.
  15. I do not need to sign on till later but would want to meet up this the boys on here. Will the separate clubs have separate spaces for meet-up or is it a free for all.
  16. I think JDM are set to run on 100 RON which they have out in Japan. Have you tried Tesco's 99
  17. Looks really nice. Pity its open wheels as I do tracks not hill climbs therefore would not get on many tracks. I know someone who hill climbs an elise and a few of the LoTRDC drivers, if you want to have a chat/advice as your PH advert says you are looking for lotus PM me PS if someone is looking at this, I have been on track at Abbeville with a Jedi and it just appeared from no where, things like this are real quick.
  18. Would like to add to the anonymous bit. Do not like the clique effect elsewhere. Come on chris, looks like we all would like too. I do not want anything to complicate your life such as wishing to see the books. If I contribute then I do it without asking for anything back.
  19. Gents, Its been a while that this place has been running (big thanks to those that have made it this great) and thinks its time we had a way for me to donate something to help with the running costs. Is there a way we can do it as a donation, most will know I do not like forced subscriptions but that does not mean I do not want to pay my way. Sorry I find it easier to give money instead of time but that's always limited in my life. Regards Steve PS would be happy to fund the make up of the Z sticker to give away at meets or at the 350 post count if the other bills are paid for.
  20. Digsy, If coming from Oxford area Blenheim Palace http://www.blenheimpalace.com/ is good place to take the missus. The race track Not really what I had in mind!
  21. The stripe make me feel ill, totally spoils the new and much improved "rust" colour. New orange does look stunning. Stripes not the sort of attention I would want, but each to their own.
  22. Glad its all sorted out. Been there myself and your a bigger man than me for sorting it out.
  23. Andy I live in oxford so close but not really best one to check out a car to see if good or not. I can check relative condition if you want and take lots of pics if that helps to forward on (you need to let me know what you want pics of first). PM details if you need me too.
