Welcome swak, I like you could not Afford a UK car due to an ex-wife, So I imported one for a lot less. You can read the links above, but the main thing to remember is to only deal with a company you can trust, as you need to hand over money before you see the car, talk to past customers and ask for references, There are larger companies that you can see the cars before like the Bristol Import Centre but the saving is less as you pay when you buy. I agree with you Perrin as such, It’s the service that you receive for your money that counts to you not the information, if it is well explained and with a help contact to talk you through the stages you have a right to feel its money well spent. I always protect my no claims as it was explained to me, all I lose if I have a bump is the ability to protect next year, so for £80 it a risk that I sell to the insurance company and it means I get one hit before it hits my pocket, but if like me you have driven for 5 yrs with no issues then the insurance company is £400 to the better (but we cant see into the future as we would not need insurances)
