I'll tell you what I'll do, I'll stop posting on this matter and let everyone (who hasn't got a clue about wheels) think that spending £500, £800, £1000, £1750 on wheeels like TSW, Ruff, Wolfrace, Fox racing and all the other shite flying about on Ebay and elsewhere is a good buy then they'll come back on here and complain to members who told them it was a good buy.
-
Sarnie I have never made any derogatory remarks so stop fuelling something that doesn't exist. I have always expressed my opinions. Rick is fine and I have explained to him via Pm what was misunderstood about my remarks. Furthermore I've never denied my suggestions either on open forum or via PM to whoever has asked me. You on the other hand can't post useful information to save your life, so I'd suggest you think twice before criticising what others post.
-
I think your point isn't valid. If people don't make informed choices, then your point is not valid at all. Only reading others saying "go for it" "buy it" etc on cheapo wheels threads only encourages the potential buyer to part with their money, and not know of possible, better (and more expensive) alternatives. not everyone here is a wheel expert. Forums are useful for exactly this reason. You get to hear both sides of a story. THEN you can make a better informed choice, imo.
-
Dorian, your comparison with the utec doesn't stand. If someone wanted suggestions on whether it is better/worse than an FCON I would give it freely, saying the FCON's resolution is way higher and it has many features that the UTEC doesn't have. I'd also give the bad points (no user input, only HKS pro dealers can tune it, cost etc) value for money is all well and good, hence people make their informed choices. Value for money for a set of cheap cast alloy wheel? for me even the £600 spent on them is money wasted. and £1750 on a set of cast alloys equates to having been ripped off. This is what i think, tactful or not. Dorian why did you buy Volks instead of TSW or Ruff?
-
see that's the difference: you are arguing, I'm not, at all. Moreover, when you say everyone knows that a wheel is more inferior quality than another, how do you know? Not everyone has the same knowledge as you and I about wheels. they might think that spending £1500 on TSW's or Ruff's is a sound purchase! I have the right to comment on whatever thread there is, just as you have, and even more due to the duty as a Moderator as I mentioned above. You say you don't want me commenting on how shite some wheels are compared to others, I say I will keep on posting to warn potential buyers in case they have no idea, and might regret it later, even more if they listen to people like you who keep telling them they are good, a sound purchase etc. if you don't get this point, it's your problem, not mine.

each to their own, as I said previously many times. I don't approve, that's all.

just to make it clear, I'm not pissing on anyone's parade. This is a "spotted on ebay" thread. As part of the Mod team on this forum it is my duty to warn members and possible buyers ready to part with hundreds if not thousands of £££ wasted on inferior quality products. (as I did with you Digsy, hence I was sad to see the amount of money you spent on your wheels) Exactly for the reason that there are many hundreds or even thousands of £££ involved, I would like to see members get the best item for their budget, and not being ripped off by unscrupulous merchants. The fact is that forged wheels deliver better performance parameters and are significantly safer than cast wheels. What this means is that lighter, stronger, forged wheels can offer both a higher margin of safety as well as improved vehicle dynamics including acceleration times, braking distances and handling. Because forged wheels are much stronger (300 times stronger in most cases) than cast wheels, they can be designed with thinner cross-sections, making them lighter in weight and better optimized for rotational mass and inertial moment considerations. Wheel weight is very important to overall performance as it is key component in “un-sprungâ€

Yes i grant you the box is over sized and they would have gone in but my shipping duty and vat was............... for exactly that reason you should have stuck as much stuff as possible in that huge box
-
you could have got them then sent them to the dealership who sent you this, put them in the big box, and saved on shipping duty and VAT! :teeth:

I don't like cheap wheels. Each to their own. On the other hand, £20 for a great quality cargo net.... this is ridiculous, I'll stop here as it's not worth it.
-
looking hot Lew, awesome Work's too PS where did you get the wheel nuts??? I tried to get hold of WORK's own lightweight wheelnuts to no avail
-
genuine Nismo is fibreglass. No need to panic or be scared of fibreglass, if made properly in the first place. Just Paintshield it and the susceptibility to stone chipping is overcome too. Poly would be more flexible, IIRC aerosync do them in plastic. Baptist has it in plastic. If the guy couldn't find the Nismo plaque, it means it's a replica. It can't be missed.

so for £500 you get this new headunit with DVD, Ipod (surely it must have an aux in!), mp3 headunit? hmm food for thought... one last thing, what about the steering wheel buttons??

RAYS ALLOY WHEELS 350Z Z NISSAN ALLOYS TYRES GT 18" S
Removed replied to M13KYF's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
now that's a bargain! with a little bit of creativity, add an extra £200 or so and get them powder coated to your liking and you have a set of forged, lightweight and unique wheels nevermind Ruff & co... -
It's you Val that has offended Ricky......You shouldnt keep banging on about "cheap wheels " when anyone has invested not an inconsiderable sum in a Zed then wants to smarten the whole cabbodle up with some nice rims, derogatory remarks about "cheap" rims are not good And how anyone can say £600+ for rims is cheap is beyond me anyway that's an absolutely ridiculous statement. cheap wheels are cheap wheels. £600 for a set of wheels is cheap. Whether it's a considerable amount of money for some, I don't doubt, but unfortunately it only buys you cheap wheels. No way around it I'm afraid. Good quality wheels are expensive, I don't make the rules, that's how it is. If they are expensive there's a reason. Surely sometimes a brand can charge you more due to the Brand power (in my opinion, this is the case with the Volks, for example) but the fact remains that, quality wheels are more expensive than cheap wheels. Cast, vs forged, lightweight vs heavy as hell, strong vs "brittle" and so on and so forth.
-
still wouldnt buy em quite happy with the ones I have.. you have got to accept Val not everyone is in the same mind set as you... and you have to accept exactly the same. I don't like cheap wheels and I think they cheapen the Z. this is my opinion and you won't make me change it, especially with no other argument apart from "but with cheaper wheels you save money". PS my wheels were £1750 all in btw guys (excl tyres), I have no idea where you would spend £3k (apart from stupid Asanti stuff, or from ripoff UK dealers of sorts)
-
I get it your one of them Price tag/Label people. Oh yeah I made a mistake, apologies the wheels cost me £3550 just for alloys. Oh yeah & they say Armani on the centre caps! That reminds me I must get down to Kings Rd to get some of them Burberry underpants, they must be nice as they are £90 for one. ps Am I going to spend £3,000 on alloys plus £800 on tyres, almost £4,000 for wheels on a car that cost me £17k!!! Thats almost a quater of the total vehicle purchase price!!!! I have nothing against you nor do I enjoy or ever get into arguments on internet forums as it is plain stupid & a waste of my time. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, you & I. But I would have thought being part of the admin team of this great forum you would show a little more tact & diplomacy in your comments. Especially to a recently joined member like myself. Ah well thats the end of this topic as far as I am concerned I have a business to run & dont have the time for talking about god dam alloy wheels at work! you definitely don't know me mate What is it that has offended you so profoundly anyway? didn't mean to offend anyone, it's just my opinion, which i am entitled to have like anyone else

(date are not 100% fixed until Feb apparently) need to keep an eye on the link steve_b posted on previous page. Will have to check for Spa awesome B)B) list again? TheMinel Sarnie Lomoto ir_fuel (in Spa) CDR (in Spa? ) Kev Chesterfield -
no need mate. I say save a little longer and get proper wheels for your Z
-
if you are going to buy new wheels, are not interested in quality/weight/strenght/durability then by all means just buy the chapest you can get. IMO wheels are one of the few mods that completely change the look and "feel" of a car, not just the Z. And seeing cheapo wheels on a performance car just makes me cringe, that's all. it's like going backward.
-
you don't even use the car when it rains, you should have put proper wheels on it, full stop About the second comment, i highly doubt it. Any intelligent buyer would know not to purchase cheapo second hand wheels, to start with.
