These terms are used to refer to a specific type of undesirable front tyre wear on some 350zs. This problem occurred for many (but not a majority) of owners in the US and has been found in the UK as well. The tyres wear unevenly on their outer (check) edge leading to roaring/rumbling/howling noise which gets worse as wear/mileage increases. Some owners have reported associated steering feel changes and even reduced front end grip. Nissan GB now recognise that this condition can occur and will inspect tyres when the problem is reported. If they find that the problem is affecting a car, they will usually replace the tyres and reset the toe-in settings of the car to avoid the problem re-curring. Replacement tyres have a different tread design and these have also been fitted as standard to new 350zs since some time in early 2004.

Many owners feel that the paint quality on the 350z is not ?good enough?. These owners feel that the front of the 350z (particularly the plastic parts) are overly susceptible to both chipping of the paint and to dinging/micro-denting of the paint and underlying plastic by road debris. This ?issue? has been flagged by many owners in the US, Australia and the UK. Some owners feel that the paint is no worse than other modern water-based painted cars. In either case, its worth noting that the front bumper of the 350z is bluff (vertical) and will get hit more than other some cars. If you are sensitive about the looks of the front of your car (i.e. if stonechips have bothered you on previous cars), you would be well-advised to have paint protection film fitted. Do this at the dealer before collection if at all possible (some owners have had chipping occur between dealer and paint protection film fitter in a single journey).

Great quality, not too loud but louder than stock. Car is a bit more responsive too. fits like a glove, the guys who fitted it only struggled to take the original backbox off, since the 2 little "hangers" didn't want to come off the rubber things. (god I love it when I get technical ). They took about 1 hour. Guys were very careful not to scratch the SS backbox and awwwwwed and ooohhhed at the mufflers when I took off the protective plastic. Then I switched it on....... It was as good as I remembered, DEEP growl.... basically oem sound but deeper! They guy kept saying it sounded like an Aston! Recommended...

I have done this is 2 stages: stage 1 colour coding Plenum: I think I did a decent job, pics are around already. I then installed it, a bit of a pita but most probably as I didn't really have the proper tools. I managed in the end. Performance gains: sort of breathing more freely, seems to have a bit more poke Noise gains: not really keen on the "echoing plasticky noise" of the plenum tbh Difficulty of installation (for a newbie like me) 6.5/10. would have been easier with more appropriate tools I guess stage 2 Hi flow cats: got them installed @ Joe's mechanic Stuart (HCC-Motorsport.com). Joe as usual is a very nice bloke, and Stuart seemed competent. I had the non-fouler mods from the US to prevent CEL light coming on..... our lambda sensors have the reverse thread compared to the US ones, so he didn't put them on. I will wait to see if the CEL light appears, in which case he will re-thread the nonfoulers to accomodate the UK lambda sensors Performance gains: quite noticeable gain in torque, engine seems to breathe much more freely Noise gains: they opened up the Milltek sound very nicely, much deeper and louder noise now! General comments: combo well worth installing IMO! Also, need to adjust the strut bar as I think it vibrates against the plenum.... UPDATE after a couple of thousand miles on them: no CEL light on (must be only if you go with the Test pipes, and hi-flow cats are ok)

Hi guys, after just over a month of ownership and about 1400 miles, at the time, I had to wax my Zelda, so I decided to try the latest Megujars NXT stuff. I have to say that I'm very impressed: 1) smells lovely 2) doesn't leave any white residue 3) great wet effect finish after only one treatment pics of the results on many more threads on this board. 100% converted to Meguiar's products now

I finally got my Autoteknink order, via Ebay, after about 2 weeks. Apart from the slow shipping, I can thoroughly recommend these guys, and keep an eye on ebay for bargains like these, even compared to their internet shop! CF radiator cooling plate: $ 89.95 Varis CF B Pillars $69.95 over a year on and they are great quality

nismo Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit for Brembo brakes Code: [46200-RSZ30] Available from Prospec Motorsports in the UK. The brake line kit Courtesy Nissan sell, Code: [46200-22Z33], is not designed for Brembo brakes. nismo R-tune 350Z cold-air intake (version 1 and 2) [16576-RNZ36] can only be fitted as a short ram intake as the headlight washer reservoir on UK cars prevents installation behind the front bumper: nismo US rear spoiler - when fitted, the base does not cover the mounting holes for the UK rear spoiler. The nismo JDM spoiler fits correctly. Exhaust headers for US cars do not fit UK vehicles. JDM design headers may fit, but it would be wise to check with the manufacturer. Mats from left-hand drive countries are not suitable for UK Zeds. Injen SES Straight-Tip exhaust from US, doesn't clear the 'Aero' diff cover, removal or trimming is needed. Also might need some heating up and bending of passenger side pipe from CAT. US manufactured Grounding Kits will require a degree of ingenuity when fitting, as the location of the Battery Housing / Brake Fluid Reservoir Housing is reversed on US cars to the UK/ cars JDM Grounding Kits fit without modification Invidia exhaust as with the Injen SES exhaust requires removal of diff aero cover. Vortech supercharger requires removal of headlight washer bottle mounted low down in the passenger side of the front bumper. Can be moved elsewhere. Stillen Superchager requires; (1) either a replacement bonnet or a carbon fibre "hump" inserting into your existing one to accomodate the hardware that sites on top of the engine. Replacement bonnet is made from fibre-glass. (2) removal of the front strut brace although Stillen do sell a replacement one which while structurally seems sound, is not the prettiest looking bit of kit on the market (twin tubular stainless steel). 2006 Z LED rear lights: if coming from the US market they fit the Z as a straight swap: parts number RH LED LAMP - 26550 - CF40A andLH LED LAMP - 26555 - CF40A If they come from Japan there is a need for modification to the wiring plug. the NISMO exhaust is a straightforward replacement for stock and sounds better than most particularly in the 2k-4k rev range. Please feel free to add to this list. Thanks to all users from 350zuk.com who listed all this

This is not required but will do no harm. Seems to be a common practice over the Pond, as well.

Engine oil ratings are included in the owner?s manual. Reputable sources also vary with some saying use synthetic and some saying mineral is fine (Nissan only specifically recommend mineral oil apparently because this is the only oil they tested during the 350?s development rather than because they feel there is a problem with synthetic). Some say that if you do intend to change to synthetic oil, you should wait until, say the 9000 mile service as this will help the engine to bed it better. I personally swapped to Motul 300V 5W30 (fully Synthetic) at my P2 service and the car seems to like it a lot.
