GT Battle: D1GP UK + time attack 20/08/2006 round 4

thanks for that Fuggles, I updated your post. Unfortunately there doesn't seem much interest on here and it's a shame as this a very entertaining sport! Might come down on Sunday if I manage to convince the gf that it's a good day out -
thing is though, I have to say in 2 years I haven't NEEDED to contact CS once, and so I suspect most of the Z owners. I bet you that most other CS departments for other brands are exctly the same, and it's the number of times that you NEED to contact them that'll make a difference in the ownership experience. The few niggles I've had (squeaky seat for example) got sorted under warranty by my dealer with no problem. IMO the car is reliable enough (famous last words) not to need to involve CS enough to make it an unpleasant ownership experience. But of course this is just my own experience .

How are we supposed to know that you are in south east asia? We are not your secretary mate I would have PMd you but as you, I am quite busy and away from home too... I haven't got your phone number and my phone bill is quite interesting already with all these US calls... I agree with you with regards to the support people will need once Jermaine goes back home, and his behviour doesn't bode well from that side. With regards to being diplomatic, that's bollox, to be refreshingly honest Stephen, I told Jermaine straight on the phone that he pi**ed me off and that was not the way to behave in the first place. he knows he should have advised earlier than 2 weeks before that he couldn't have got hold of the number of units we requested more than 5 weeks ago. He also knows very well the lenghts myself and the Italian guy (organising it from there) went to, holidays booked, they had cars coming from TARANTO to VERONA (check that out on the map of Italy mate, nevermind manchester-essex), I even provided him with travel agent-like services etc. with flights, hotels etc all ready to be booked. We even let him have a Z roadster for him to drive when he arrived over here? Yeah, let's be diplomatic and bend over, shall we? We are interested in his product and services but they should equally be interested, trust me when I say they just don't come here to do us a favour mate... With regards to your own circumnstances with your Z configuration, best thing is to ring him/email him (better ring him) directly and get the reassurance yourself as I suggested to Dorian mate, unfortunately I would not really know what I'd be talking about and don't want to risk misunderstanding something. -
why not Nick? It's safe and a lot of fun!

can you match the US prices Mark?
-
IMO you can post these names, but let's see what the other guys say too PS the CS manager would be handy for Neil too please

and relative US prices The Cosworth V6: Cosworth is set to release a VQ35DE crate engine. This will be a direct drop in replacement of the OEM engine with no core swap. No real specs have been released on the engine but we could make some educated guesses by their current lineup of VQ engine parts: heads: $4289 Cosworth VQ35 CNC ported cylinder heads feature dyno tested and flow bench proven ports, engineered for maximum real world power. Each new cylinder head is ported on a 5 axis machine to ensure consistency and perfect port shape every time. Additionally, larger intake (+1mm) and exhaust valves (+1mm) are utilized to help increase flow. Cosworth CNC ported Big Valve cylinder heads come complete with a performance valve job, hi rev (max 10,500rpm) valve springs with titanium retainers and are ready to install. Perfect for big turbo applications or strong normally aspirated engines. Nissan VQ35 heads are priced for the pair. A flow chart for the head is available by downloading the technical document on the left. * CNC Ported/machine finished ports - New OE Castings * Hand blended finish work * Intake 19% Increased Flow (max) * Exhaust 22% Increased Flow (max) * 4-angle Inlet Valve job * 3-angle & radiused Exhaust Valve job * Valves are lapped * Back-Cut Inlet Valves * Heads are Ultra Sonic cleaned prior to assembly * Heads are Serialized and sport a machined Cosworth logo * +1mm Stainless Steel Intake Valves (1800 degrees max.) * +1mm Inconel Exhaust Valves (2400 degrees max.) * Performance Valve Springs * Titanium Retainers * Hardened Steel Spring Platforms * Knife Edge port divider Pistons $1299 The piston is one of the most important components within the engine. It can be subjected to directional change up to 285 times every second and must withstand acceleration forces of 8500g. Cosworth high performance forged pistons are designed and engineered to withstand this type of punishment and still perform. All Cosworth pistons are manufactured using the same methods as our Formula One pistons and include features such anti scuff skirt coating, ulta-strong pins, polished top and patented anti-detonation bands. Additionally, each application uses a unique forging to minimize weight and ensure the strongest possible piston design # Anti Scuff Skirt coating (Coscoat 1000) # Polished top (reduced carbon build up and stress relief # Manufactured from proprietary alloy (CosAL 010) # Ultra Strong Pin # Patented Anti-detonation bands # 11:1 Compression ratio # Set of 6 includes Pins and pin locks # Performance Ring Sets available separately Rods A Beam Rods $1335 H Beam Rods $1879 The connecting rod is the vital link between the piston and power. When engine output is increased, the demands placed on the connecting rod increase as well. To ensure engine reliability in all conditions, original connecting rods should be replaced with heaby duty specification parts. We offer two types, depending on use, for most popular performance applications. Made from 4130 Chrome Molly steel . can I drool now?

well well well, back on topic. The Italians have understandably pulled out, they'll sort their own UTECs for the 9th June and just get their tuner to tune them. Has to be said, their tuner seems to be extremely competent, so good luck to them! so that's 6 UTECs lost for Jermaine to sell, wonder if he'll manage to find the 7 we need now.... TDi are very nice and aren't bothered with the change of date, if we decide to wait the extra 2 weeks (thanks Mark!!!) so.... what do you all guys reckon? -
we have it on the left hand side

bap what flywheel did you go for? I have a Fidanza waiting to be fitted, but I'm in no rush
