  1. great, short notice too.... doubt you'll be able to book anything mate
  2. dealer called me at 11:45am after dropping the car @ 8am to say they can't jack the car up as it's too low, they'll have to remove the skirts but don't know how to AND they will have to charge me since they can't claim it under warranty... took me 20 minutes to take them both off... took a long lunch break. I mean they saw the car at least 3 times, he could have told me BEFORE bringing the car in that they need a special ramp (the one with 4 arms, not a normal ramp apparently) i could have taken them off at home and drivent there without them? Mind you he admitted they have had problems with standard skirts on that ramp. Doesn't inspire much trust in replacing a gearbox, but we'll see...
  3. ah good old CC days! sorry got to stick to on topic stuff now
  4. some more info: "NISSAN DEVELOPS NEW-GENERATION V6 ENGINES --Engines to power all-new Skyline to be released this autumn-- TOKYO (Aug. 22, 2006)--Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., has newly developed two new-generation six-cylinder V-type engines for front-engine, rear-wheel-drive vehicles featuring powerful performance and improved environmental friendliness. The 3.5L VQ35HR and 2.5L VQ25HR engines will be built at Nissan's Iwaki Plant in Fukushima Prefecture and will be equipped in the all-new Skyline to be released this autumn in Japan, as well as the US where the model is sold as the Infiniti G35. Featuring newly designed engine blocks and other key components, the engines offer smooth transition to top-in-class level engine speed of 7,500 revolutions per minute drawing upon the "smooth transition" concept of the popular VQ engine, the only engine in the world to appear on Ward's 10-Best Engines list for 12 consecutive years. The engines achieve a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to vehicles equipped with the existing VQ engine and top-in-class Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle level emissions. SU-LEVs have 75% or less nitrogen oxide (NOx) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions than those stipulated by Japan's 2005 exhaust emission standards. The letters "HR" in VQ35HR and VQ25HR stand for "high revolution" and "high response." Nissan began VQ engine production in 1994 and has produced a cumulative total of 5.5 million units as of last fiscal year, ended March 31, 2006. Main specifications of the VQ35HR and VQ25HR engines: Smooth transition to top-in-class level engine speed of 7,500 rpm * Reduction of weight and friction through adoption of asymetrical piston skirt configuration * Reduction of piston-side force through lengthening of con rod * Addition of rudder frame, newly-designed cylinder block with significantly improved rigidity Thrilling revving sound and top-in-class output * Adoption of perfectly symmetrical intake system * Adoption of continuously variable valve timing control (CVTC) for intake side and electromagnetic valve timing control (e-VTC) for exhaust side * Reduction of intake resistance through adoption of symmetrical twin intake system and straight intake port * Adoption of isometric exhaust manifold and perfectly symmetrical exhaust system Improvement of fuel-efficiency and emission cleanliness * Reduction of friction through adoption of world's first hydrogen-free, diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating * Adoption of catalyst substrate with ultra-low heat mass, super-ignition iridium spark plug and fast light-off O2 sensor control" play sound: http://www3.stream.co.jp/web06/nissan/p ... kyline.asx d/l sound: http://www3.stream.co.jp/web06/nissan/p ... ne/wav.exe sources = http://press.nissan-global.com/EN/PHOTO ... ology.html
  5. not sure who it was yet, but knowing Neo, it's probably him in one of his few attempts at moderating
  6. the culprit will be whipped and tortured, no worries or they might be in the process of resizing it for you?
  7. well post pics ffs then! so did you get rid of the brake fluid and battery covers and their surrounds too? they are plastic too. wasn't being childish mate was just stating the fact that, whether oem, APS or Crawford (not polished) plenums (and even the Kinetix V4/+ not painted) look rubbish as they are as rough as a bear's arse, that's all. Appreciate you focusing solely on performance, each to their own, but it's (clearly) not the route I've taken, yet anyway.
  8. nice, cheap ish too! have you got both types, for manual and tiptronic Chris?
  9. afaik the tags are stored within the voice system, not in the adapter, so you can take it out, I'd say
  10. nothing planned really, Debbie will be looking after her 11yo nephew so i guess we'll have to do something together! My other baby has gone for open tummy surgery today.... getting her back tomorrow night hoping there won't be any complications... the service manager was already worried on how to put her on a ramp!
  11. TDi is an HKS dealer and they have good prices on this. Also forum discount. and yes, it's been mentioned b4 (search button is your friend)
  12. the one you posted looks good... add the site address too, it'd be nice!
  13. yes, although you'd in teory have to remap it every time you add something, so really this should be done at the end of the mods list Also UTEC might be a better solution as FCONs can only be mapped by authorised tuners = more money. But noone in the UK has had a UTEC fitted yet. Or mapped. I'll get round to it sooner or later. Also headers will be a waste of money if you want to go TT later on.
