  1. I would have got a JDM and put the rest of the money towards FI done properly! :teeth: the rest I suspect I would have done more or less the same, focusing on styling mods first then performance definitely bonnet Paintshield for day 0 too
  2. Not much luggage space in the Zed, gues I'll have to turn my pants inside out! we went for 3 weeks with no luggage space problems mate, it's more than doable

    Ah, memories...

one that'll kick yr arse next saturday
  4. no dates yet I'd say either July or August. I personally will want to make it at least a couple of weeks, but I guess people can join in when they like once the itinerary is ready.
  5. My Z has just broken the 30k miles barrier so I thought I'd write my impressions, alongside with good points and bad points up to now. bad points first: - synchromesh issue (but got a new gearbox under warranty) - squeaky driver seat (fixed under warranty) - both local dealers shut down in the space of 2 years - rear axle clicking (not fixed yet) - RE040 worst tyres ever - interior plastics get scratched easily - modding moneypit! as you can see most of my gripes are relatively minor or fixed under warranty. The good points in my experience are: - turned heads when I got it and has the same effect over 2 years on, going to be a classic imo. - potential for "extreme" modding (at least in my opinion), albeit expensive - makes for a good long term project (or short term if you are loaded ) - the torque in all gears! - the great chassis - the awesome colour I chose that still hasn't bored me after over 2 years! - the diy modding platform it provided for my first experiences at this type of stuff - the people I've managed to meet thanks to the same passion - the grand-touring experience of my european holiday 2005 - cheapish servicing costs All in all the positives most definitely outshine the negatives, and sine I plan to keep her for the long term, I'm not even bothered about the recent hgiher han expected depreciation! Once I'll be able to use the Z as a fun car only, I think it'll be even better! Love my Z
  6. Ok guys, it's early enough, but since I spent 3 weeks in Europe during summer 2005 and thought it was one of the best driving holidays ever, why not organise a European meet somewhere central? I know the Italians would be up for it and so would the Swiss (last I heard from them anyway) so it's a matter to see who'd be interested and put something together, to have time to organise. register your interest, ideas etc here

    Ah, memories...

was looking through past pics of meets, drives etc and found these... not bad, surely someone will want them as they wallpapers Lake District drive May (I think?) 2005
  10. they look like the CE28N from Volk to me

  12. u r on a roll today aren't you? afaik Revsport has one although don't know if he fitted it yet
  13. What do you gain from having an increased air capacity as your still limited by the same size throttle body not too sure of the intrinsic mechanics of it but it's been proven over and over again that the plenum or the spacer are about the only NA mod that gives constant gains especially midrange. The first 2 cylinders are starved for air as opposed to the other 4 (look on APS's website for a picture of the 2 plenums to compare). I guess a more even airflow to all cylinders gives the gains found
  14. Do you have to do without strut bar if a spacer is fitted? there's 2 types, the 8mm one (they call it 5/16" iirc) keeps the strut bar, and the bigger one really doesn't give extra hp.
  15. here you go: Milltek + Kinetix hi-flow cats use Apple quicktime to view/listen to the 2 files
  16. spacer in this case are PLENUM spacers MREV's are spacer types sold by motordyne engineering. (I think they are for the 300ps engines? ) instead of buying a brand new plenum to increase air capacity, you stick a spacer in between with the same results. That's what i'll be doing soon too.
  17. ++++++++++1! I spent ages washing my baby over the weekend and despite the morning showers it still looks awesome from my office window!
  18. I thought I had done one a while ago? If I remember I'll do another one (phone quality so don't expect fantastic stuff) when i get home later on
  19. true although not having listened to resonated and unresonated ones i wouldn't know how much the noise/raspiness is reduced by. My guess is not by much.
  20. going to be raspy, noisy and illegal, but I'm sure you already know that APS do a nice set of decat pipes, as well as many more companies
  21. it's also missing the Y pipe...
