  1. see for mine i would pay that for the saving i am getting That's the price of my bonnet, shipped!
  2. no, too much in your face, I was tempted but decided to go V3 replica. Just crossing fingers on quality. But my thoughts were: it's a bonnet it either fits or it doesn't! Pics I have of the finished article look very good quality, we'll see.
  3. european public holidays, 2006 but they'll be good for next year too the days we are interested in, that is
  4. was a bargain, and it's coming from Australia... £250 all in+ vat and customs, maybe . Taking around 5-6 weeks though
  5. busy where? Quite confident only the UK has a public holiday at the end of August. We'd only be in the Uk from home to Dover, remember. And since that would be a one day thing, early morning start would be needed anyway
  6. indeed, also need to be careful it doesn't clash with JAE etc. What about end of August? Around the August bank holiday?
  7. Bax global have been used before, my bonnet is arriving via BOAT and the freight forwarders I'm using are in Ipswtch. Their name is Hemisphere freight services, phone number 01473 713738, haven't got the bonnet yet though, so can't comment on their Customer service. From the US a lot of stuff can be sent via USPS? (equivalent to Royal Mail)
  8. headers are apparently a 5hr installation job... not sure they are worth it tbh
  9. the Italians seem keen to get on to the Ring too, so we might meet them there too! Looks like there's quite a lot of interest, my suggestions for accomodations/ferries would be: Speedferries are VERY cheap compared to competition, it gets to Bulougne instead of Calais, but who cares! Early booking recommended Accomodations: again if you book in advance you are going to save money as opposed to showing up on the day. I've used the Campanile chain in France before, and while it's not 5*, the buffets are good and prices are very low. I'm planning to use them again. This is much better than the Campanile hotels we have in UK, btw. For locations in other countries, I found that Laterooms.com is very good and shows many price ranges etc. I would leave it up to the individuals to book their own accomodation, of course people can share info here. This of course needs doing once we are happy with dates stopovers, itineraries again can be changed individually to suit different people
  10. the spacer sits between the lower plenum and the upper plenum, as you would expect it is different as you retain the oem plenum, you just increase its "width" have a look at the Motordyne website to better understand
  11. Guys, any interest to do a dyno day in Warrington at TDi North facilities? I haven't asked them yet, just wondering if there's any interest, then I could organise something. Could be a way to spend some time waiting for the good weather Date again is completely flexible at this stage
  12. NA= plenum vs spacer is basically the same gains. Now going FI down the line I'm not too sure, possibly with bigger plenums like the APS or the Crawford ones? Would FI benefit from a bigger plenum = bigger air volume? On the US boards some say a spacer is plenty (also look at what the Sumo Z has, just a spacer and puts out 500hp) some others prefer the full plenum replacement. I would surely not go FI with a Kinetix plenum anyway, even if they now say the V+ is good for FI (up to XX PSI, can't remember)
  13. would recommend a spacer instead of the plenum, tbh. Same gains (proven many times) and cheaper Motordyne or even the GB that they are doing over at 350z-tech (for $165 shipped) then get your plenum powdercoated by Ming and you are laughing. Although, without remap/piggiback, the lot won't make much difference performance wise. What about handling, instead? Springs, dampers (or coilovers), stiffer sway bars, wheels?

  15. ther gearchange comment is bollox , synchros go as they are shite in the first place (well they were before the 06 versions when Nissan upgraded them... after countless gearboxes replaced both here in Uk and US) Apart from that, it's quite good, thanks for posting
  16. pics from choptop, after resizing and number plate masking PS what's with all those 300's?

  18. nice one Rick, thanks for sharing the info and parts needed
  19. good stuff, although probably not the best time of the year for a trip like this Wanna join us next summer?
  20. again, only Toyo experience, not as stiff a sidewall as the Bridgestones, but still miles better.
  21. the itinerary and relative days' stops are all changeable. we could stay more nights somewhere etc. Same goes for the long drives. personally I loved it when I did it and Debbie didn't complain one bit. The Z is more than comfortable for long journeys. Anyone else who think it isn't, should try it first. With regards to leisurely type of stops, again it's all up to the individuals. I don't see this being a big group thing, (every bit along the way) to be honest, as people will have different needs (you'll have the people who'll want to stay in 5* hotels every night etc), in my opinion the best option is to give an itinerary and let each individual make their own holiday. Other suggestions always appreciated (ie don't just moan, offer alternatives, thanks )
  22. yeah it is a bit long BUT I've done worse in one day (Pistoia-Calais in the Z in July) and no problems whatsoever
  23. if the engine mounts are the same (which should be) that is the road I'd consider most. Then find a UK based shop to do the swap/FI install and tune. Baptist is right about what if something goes wrong though... although the US are only a phone call away
  24. ok guys, here's a first stab at an itinerary: starting point: DOVER Part 1 arrive @ Spa, Belgium (~370km) Overnight stop Depending if there's interest, we could get info on going to Francochamps, add 1 extra day for that Part 2 arrive @ Nurburg, Germany (or vicinity anyway ~125km) Overnight stop Day at the Ring, again can be either as spectators or have a go on the Ring. Part 3 arrive at Neuchatel, Switzerland (or anywhere else in Swizterland we decide to have the joint meet with the Italians and other 350Z clubs interested) ~580km Overnight stay, possibly multiple nights. Part 4 arrive at Chaumont, Champagne region, France Overnight stay ~290km Part 5 arrive @ Calais and overnight stay ~ 490km Part 6 go back home Thoughts?
