  8. you thinks that bad , i WENT to to dealer as my passenger side window wasnt working - the guy looked at me sniggered and said "you see this switch here, it turns off the passenger side window" i felt like such a fool and tried to redeem myself by saying " oh , i though they loked the rear windows only" - to which he laughed in my face that's a good one. A deserved RTFM springs to mind
  9. tell you what, it would have benefited (and still would IMO) a lot of the young British people you see around....
  10. no thanks I'll wait for the proper DVD to come out Others would just go to the Pirate Bay and download one, free
  11. no, it has now been abolished. But I did it in 1999.
  12. you are still guilty in my eyes! if there wasn't anyone to sell it to, they wouldn't bother
  13. Its clay Its used to remove microparticles of dirt of the paintwork, but you have to be careful with it as it is fairly aggressive on the protective coating on your paint, so better only use it before applying a new layer of wax to the car, and not after every wash twice a year it's plenty for claybarring. It's not "aggressive" as you put it, but there's no point in using it after waxing, as it'll strip the wax as well as the dirts It's one of the most effective things I've ever used. It's amazing how much crap it takes away from the paintwork, which you can't even see! The proofs are 2: 1- after finishing washing the car, pass a hand onto a panel. You'll feel lots of invisible crap stuck to it. Do it again after claybarring.... 2- look at the claybar surface after an application before kneading it, and see how much crap it has taken off your paint
  14. transport costs? do you think the US chaps don't include them since their kits come from Australia too?
  15. they look very much like my Zeetoyz.com caps. made by Python. I've had them a couple of years, they seem to age very well Nice items, although depending on which cap/cover you get, you might need to modify slightly the original cap to have it fit under these. (this applies to the power steering fluid cap IIRC). Also, I recommend to use these for show only (especially the windscreen reservoir one) as if they don't screw on they'll end up falling in your engine bay. (speak from experience)
  16. agreed, but we are in good company (unfortunately). Since the law doesn't allow lead to be used in paints, the water based ones are most definitely less resistant to stone chips. Mind you, I'm not sure other manufacturers make such bold claims though I thought by now with all the complaints, examination requests (of paint thickness) etc they would have dropped the claim
  17. I used to drive ambulances during my National Service: about 50% of the time the "code reds" (times you needed the lights and sirens) weren't actually anything serious, and the other 40% of the times lots of ambulance drivers switched them on only to get home earlier... you'll be fine that leaves a real 10% of times where you needed to get there quick
  18. the RX8 sounds like a hairdryer and has got the amount of torque of a pushbike
  19. for import duty and VAT you roughly add 25% to the $ price and it should be covered easily...
