  1. Congrats on the news, when's your due date? And do you know if its one or more?
  2. yes you can do, but he wants a faded pattern so the only way to do that is to see someone who can print on to vinyl and then print the image with the faded effect onto white vinyl then apply it. then clear coat over the top
  3. the strut brace towers do some times have alot of dirt and stuff on them so they'd need a good clean first and a de grease with something like lighter fluid or meths. isoproponol wipes are even better. and then key the surface like ricey says.
  4. how do you just "pop" into exeter, thats bloody miles away looks really good. when i get mine back its getting the same treatment.
  5. if your painting bits in the engine just remember that plastic parts need a good plastic primer as it keeps the paint flexible and stops it chipping off. if its metal it needs a good metal primer, and if its aluminium it needs an ally primer.
  6. if your building your template with frog tape, make sure all the ends are scalpel or knife cut and not finger torn. any kind of funny edge and paint will seep under the edge. and the coats need to be light, heavy wet coats seep as well.
  7. These are the only people i've found that offer it in matte and gloss, most other places require a seperate top coat, http://liquidcarwraps.co.uk/
  8. i suppose i could, i've never played around with the masking film, and also i'm not sure my cutter is big enough to do the whole enine cover in one stencil
  9. there are 2 finishes, matte and gloss, matte is straight out of the can, gloss requires a "glossifier" over the top. don;t use normal clear coat. there are some places that seem to do the gloss in with the paint so only need 1 can.
  10. theres about 8 near me see them daily, more common than BMW's down here.
  11. masking tape will work, but get the frog tape as it gives a better edge. masking film is similiar, it just has the advantage that its big enough and comes on a backing so that you can put it through a vinyl cutter, and produce stickable templates and stencils.
  12. vinyl will cope with heat, its used for the decals on brake calipers. but the issue maybe on the really stretched edges that might lift. you can get masking film and use it to cut a vinyl spray template to aid with complex designs.
  13. i think you need to specifiy if you mean hydrographic dipping or plastidipping?
  14. practice it first, just mark out a sun beam shape on a piece of card and see if you can do it. you may get away with it,
