  1. he's such a crap flicker
  2. Am I really the only one here who doesn't pootle i own a jag so everywhere is pootling its the old man in me
  3. does your's drop out lots as well? i find it looses signal alot of the time, i've not minded it, i like the software setup, but like you say connectivity was/is a little tempremental
  4. really? can;t get golf clubs in the back of the jag (not that i ahve any to try with. .... just trying to think of a car with a purpose built golf club boot?... i'm sure i've seen one.... a car with a sticker in its boot specifically for golfers.... who would have one of them.... oh i remember.... a 350Z i can't knock the auto box its been a life saver with my left knee being FUBAR, day to day driving was really starting to struggle with heavy traffic. only thing i would have differently is flappy paddles for fast road driving. as the auto does make you feel a little detatched from the experience of driving.
  5. my standard desire is now 24 months old and its been fine, think i had to reboot it twice in that time cos it froze. only issue i have is that i don't have enough space on the phone (plenty on SD) but some software anly wants to be on the phone and can;t transfer to SD so for me the only upgrade reason is more phone memory if it wasn't for that i'd probably keep the desire and swap to giffgaff.
  6. the XKR does most of its gear changes at about 2-2.5k and regardless of speed seems to always be at about 2-2.5k rpm unless in sports mode then it goes all the way up to 4-5k rpm. 70mph see's it in 5th gear at about just over 2k rpm 30mph sees me probaly in 4th or 5th at just about 1k rpm basically tick over
  7. maximum speed with lowest possible tickover. if its a straight flat piece of road drop it in 6th to be honest its choosing the right gear for the road conditions.
  8. sorry SMD but its like trying to convince me drinking my own wee is good for my health... it may well be, and others may well use this. but i have no interest in it; even if it is good for you.
  9. I think it might have been this fat bird that did it
  10. if the OP was doi ng the work himself it is a salvagable car, if your paying someone else to repair it then the fact that he's not repairing it will mean its not economical. that will be bought by a bodyshop who'll do all the work and punt it for a profit.
  11. i had no end of trouble with my wifes itunes when she bought an Imac, she wanted her music off her old computer on to the new one, but as itunes seems to register your device to itunes and all your tracks to one device it won;t let you trnasfer them very easily. (her itunes was bigger than her device, and she only decided she wanted it after i had partially dismantled her old PC so was trying to pull it off the hard drive. i don't like the layout, i don't like the format, i don;t like the way the software embeds itself so deep in your CPU. i didn't used to like the fact that it only wrote music in apple format (this has now been changed) which meant you could only play stuff from itunes on apple devices. Itunes and apple stuff is fine for people who have no interest in computers, but if you want to do anything outside the apple parameters its incredibly frustating stuff ti work with.
  12. i have some parts due out in the next week or so just waiting on the finish. its not as easy as it looks the films are very temperature sensitive and if you don;t get the release agent right can be temepremental, same with the timings. allowing correct soak time with rinse time. also be aware that these times change with the water temperature. what paint are you using? fims can be temerpmental with 1k paints. 2k are better, also if oging 1k there is a time limit on how long you can leave it between painting and dipping. best of luck look forward to seeing your efforts
  13. lol, so do we have to put this in the official calendar now.
  14. are the glaswegians that people don;t like called weegee's?
  15. i saw this and was like....what? happy unbirthday to me
  16. whats the battery like on it?
  17. i'm leaning towards the one X as i won't have to pay an upgrade fee, where as the S3 will cost me an additional £90. but the S3 has a micro SD slot for expanding the memory which the one X doesn't.
  18. i'm due an upgrade at the end of this month, coming to the end of a 2 year contract. currently have HTC desire. have really liked it, but the battery isn't brilliant. trying to work out what to get next. I don't like apple products so don't bother telling me to get an iphone. i know they work, they do exactly what they are supposed to do and are very user friendly. but i don;t like being tied to doing everything the apple way, with only apple software and the hellspawn that is itunes. also don;t like blackberry, so my short list is Samsung Galaxy S III HTC one X Sony Experia (what ever the top model is) and the left field choice do i dare try out a windows mobile with the new windows 8 when it comes out windows apollo on something like the Nokia n900
