  1. where abouts in beds are you, i'm on holiday now so dependent on date i might just pop over to say hello to the old boy.
  2. what ever floats your boat i'm sticking with my money pit
  3. how about this for a bargain http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p failed mot on emissions and missfire, i reckon its an easy fix with a new set of coil packs for £120 possibly a new exhaust anywhere between £300-£600 more if you wanted. and maybe a can of bg44k and some 10k boost £35 all in. fix and sell on or keep and play. its got special edition montreal 20" bbs wheels and looks in good nick and if it has no rust it should be in good nick. might need chain tensioners doing at £1k and gear box oil for £300, but at that it should be a solid runner for a long time.
  4. i think this is nicer http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
  5. Okay, so I jinxed you after using you as my example then So what's the issue with yours then? not been jinxed they've been there since i bought it; just been putting it off. anyways the costs as they stand for the future: - change the timing chain tensioners = £1000 - de rust and paint the underside of the car = £150 - sort the rust in the sills and around the rear arches = £1500-£3000 depending on how i do it. but as half the car needs spraying as there are no panel lines to blend too the urge is to spray the whole car which could bring the grand total up to about £5000 - repair the drivers seat = £200 - possibly put new coils in all 8 cyclinders £150 - change brake pipes to the rear = £100 - new poly bushes all round = £500-£1000 (some need doing, but if i'm doing some i might as well do them all. ) - refurb the alloys =£400 then there is the new shiney stuff i want to add mina gallery may end up owning my wallet as will paragon design planned new rear when i sought the rear rust planned new sides when i sought the rear arches and sills and if i'm doing the sides and rear i might as well do the front but with black grilles and mina gallery http://www.minagallery.com/jagxp/Xk8mainoptionpage.htm but i'm excited about spending the money as A it increase the value of the XKR because good quality ones with all the work done go for alot more. and i'm enjoying restoring the car.
  6. i'm getting to a point where i'm going to need to sink possibly the value of the car back in to the jag or half the value of the car depending on which route i take. so its not an easy run. but i must admit i've not had many problems, just lots of little fix its. as for merc box specialist http://www.auto-transmissions.co.uk/ the jag box is a merc box and these guys know there stuff. especially if its merc based. when i was down there, they had about 10 mercs in for work,
  7. i run a navigon now but when i had the zed i ran a pioneer avic f500bt it had a mini amp that meant it played the audio through the cars speakers and muted the radio etc. had an SD slot so you could play DVDs etc.
  8. my giant brembo jag calipers are looking chipped and i too have been toying a repaint. the only issue i can see with doing it myself is if you do it on the car it can be difficult getting a neat job around pipes etc. its best if you can take them off and do it but then the job suddenly doubles in size. if you need new decals i can sort that as well
  9. good job if mother in law is annoying you can always get low profile ear plugs
  10. there are a couple of gentleman officers on here i'm sure they could give you a better idea of how to approach this. i.e. what classes as parked etc.
  11. looks great mate, quiet jealous. been bringing up the idea of australia in conversation, missus is not swaying to the idea yet.
  12. if the hand brake was not on or you hadn't applied the footbrake, or the vehicle didn't stop moving then you're not parked. i think therotically for you to be classed as parked the handbrake has to be applied.
  13. nice setup any good quality 5w30 fully synthetic will do the job.
  14. those 7 series are apparently plagued with problems. do your research and double check them. if you want german V8 i would possibly be looking at the Audi A8 4.2 Quattro. kit level is insane. 4wd for thr snow in winter. and audi build quality. if i needed more back seat space over the jag, this is what i;d be checking out.
  15. i use the bluevelvet and purple haze pro versiosn which have a little something extra in them
  16. i'd always reccomend big red for brake refurbs. their paint finish is hardcore when it comes to durability.
