  1. i use an elm 327 bluetooth unit and the torque app on my phone. if thats not handy i stick a bannana in the OBDII port and read the code on a satsuma
  2. blue smoke generally means oil being burnt, white smoke is usually water. red smoke means someone stucka flare up your exhaust might just be the decats and everything settling in. when was the last time you checked the oil level? what is the oil level? is it less than when you last checked? this first simple tests tell you if your car is using oil. if it is the next thing to work out is where is the oil going. oil can be used up just through engine wear, so don;t suddenly panic, might mean you need to run a thicker oil. if it is using oil i would suggest a compression test. it will tell you if the cylinders are holding compression and if not which cylinders. this might be due to wear of the seals. this would mean oil is coming up from the sump and being burnt in the combustion process.
  3. depends how far you want to go. some of ths suffolk coast areas are good and have some nice roads. ipswich to aldburgh has som enice bits if you go the scenic route. round rendlesham forest is nice driving. tons of country lanes as most of suffolk is village and farming and 2 towns ipswich and bury the rest is farmland.
  4. good to see you back as you can tell; i'm still here
  5. i'm down near woodbridge tons of zeds in suffolk, almost as common as porsches
  6. if they were £900 i'd be more tempted to pay for the hub to machined to fit the XK
  7. Careful with your words ! My wife is in estate agency and I don't feel that she comes under your ignorant description. with any trade there are good examples and bad examples but it tends to be with estate agents there are more bad than good. i dealt with alot there are a couple of agencies i've black listed in my area completely some where i will only deal with specific people and the rest can get stuffed. and just 1 agency that i think is actually good at their job. I'm glad to hear your wife is good at her job, and if i was in your area and needed an agent, i would be straight down to see her if she is good. . but have to agree the system needs a major overhaul and some decent regulating put in place. concidering how much they charge and what the job actually entails alot of them are self inflated egotistical w@nkers/bitches. the invention of things like rightmove.com etc have made a huge improvement because its reduced the amount you actually have to go in and talk to agents. if some one set up a no bullsh1t and honest agency who answered the phone and returned calls, with sensible fees and a real customer orientated service would make an absolute killing in some areas.
  8. how may tenants you got Rich ? 2 tennants. also dealt with landlords when renting at Uni. check your rental agreement first, if your through a rental agency send an email or letter of complaint, this shows logged paper work then, then depending on your rental agreement you can take further action.
  9. i did try them all stacked together and the middle focal point was very small, but for general playing they aren't bad, as i progress i'll probably upgrade to something more substantial.
  10. was these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Polaroid-Macro- ... 005&sr=8-3
  11. as a landlord you technically need to ask permission to enter the premises. many dont though. we always ring our tennants first and arrange an appropriate time. or we knock on the door and ask.
  12. good luck with the valves, i hope it keeps going, onr of the things i come across with these is the fact that the valve jams. often requiring either a strip down or complete replacement. which one did you use?
  13. bronze or gold inners, and a shadow chrome or anthracite outer. if they fitted the jag i'd probably have them off you.
  14. i have the little screw on macro filter lens, actually been really impressed with them, you can use them singular or stack them in a range of combos.
  15. don't panic ricey by the looks of the media reports the job of building the alpine A110 might be being built by lotus as well as the infinite emerg-E http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default ... ryId=26166 both cars being built together using the new evora platform would mean lotus get a life line and build 3 cars. all mid engine RWD and the evora and emerg-e would both be running electric tech. looks like some great cars for 2014/2015
  16. bloody brilliant i went the other way from zed to S2K complete different kettle of fish, but so much fun
  17. i'm so glad i wasn't the only one screaming that at the tv in a drunken stupper
  18. its the same stuff, the bloke who setup green cotton used to work for K&N and then set his own company up. in comparison they are almost identical i'd be looking at othe roptions like APEXI BMC Pipercross Cosworth
  19. decats sound like a chav wagon and with the new changes in the MOT laws are completely illegal unless your car is a track only tool. the difference in numbers with an uprev with decats over HFC is about 9 bhp you couldn't feel the difference, it just makes for pub bragging rights. just go HFC's or do the sensible thing and go XYZ pipe. at least the change over is minutes, not hours.
  20. was always a blur man myself, didn't mind the the oasis music, but liam and noel were/are a right pair of tools
