i just have a sony blueray that cost about £100 a couple of years ago, has lan connection for extra features, plays discs well. went for sony disc reader after seeing how good the disc player was in the PS2. would play discs that were scratched that other plays just threw errors on. very happy with its performance -
with that many pipes i bet it cuts out
-
i reckon its a spy car, 2 pipes for oil slicks 2 pipes for smoke 2 pipes for tyre bursters and 2 for normal exhaust
-
that looks like it would be the same as whistling down the dartford tunnel

thanks for all that i found it very informative. all of my IC's will be HDMI from unit to the receiver, as for the cables to the speakers apparently its decent stuff, but will find out on wednesday. this is my first proper setup.and will probably upgrade over time; but hoping this will last me a good few years. will see how i get on. will defo try aiming the sub at the wall. the TV is in the corner so the back wall will be at an angle to the TV and its got soft furnishings against the back wall. -
what are these kittens you sll talk of? I like boobs but not these boobs

i like the OBRUT on the back

i think Abbey motorsport did do this while working on a car; you'd need to speak to them, as i can;t remember the exacts.
-
speak to the guys at Abbey, they did do some testing with it. from memory they said it didn;t give big gains, but it did make an improvment to the smoothness of the throttle. it works well as part of a package. i.e. filter, stack and uprev

they fill a niche market and defo have their place. go and have a listen. don;t rule them out after hearsay from people on a forum make your own decision. it may be after listening to some that you feel it meets your needs. This would be my starting point. http://www.techradar.com/news/home-cinema/home-theatre-audio/10-best-soundbar-speakers-for-your-hd-tv-913392 the fact that some add a sub into the picture can make a big difference. -
would love to own an NSX, i think its the one car that would draw me back to the jap scene. it would also complete my Honda Set. had the CTR and the S2000, just want to have owned an NSX

If i had the cash for spare wheels and tyres i'd do it. specially tempted this year as apparently we're set for a bad winter they make a big difference to grip and traction in the snow. as for 4x4's if they are on summer tyres which most still are 4x4 only helps to a point, if its really bad you need winter tyres as well. seen plenty of chelsea tractors slide across a road; for them its more the braking than the getting going. just remember to inform your insurance company if you fit them as some comapnies see them as a modification and you can void your insurance if you have an accident with them fitted. and before you all say WTF; i completely agress its a bloody farse. hopefully it won;t cost you any extra but they just like to know.

disconnecting thr battery doesn;t reset the car, codes are still stored on the ECU, i think it needs to be disconnected for a few hours to have an affect. and if a problem isn;t fixed they'll come straight back. the TPS reset is different from the CEL reset both do different things. if you want to read the code i'd get an OBDII reader or check the OBDII thread and find a local memeber with one to read it for you. you can read and check codes very easily and also reset them.

i was in john lewis on saturday where he was demoing one (very difficult when its noisey and lots of people around) but it did give a feeling of stereo sound. i can't say i was blown away, but i had already made my mind up. it could have been gold plated and i still would have turned my nose up at it. best bet is go and have a listen to some. see what you think. i was in hughes on wednesday and they showed me a few speaker setups for 5.1, they also had sound bars but never listened to them. -

keep hear about these harmony remotes, have no idea what they actually arE? -
your biggest friend will be clutch control, using the gears, and not touching the brakes. leaving big gaps between you and the car in front, and driving at a speed suitable for the conditions. i may be teaching grandma to suck eggs, but its suprising the amount of people on the road who don;t know these basics. the amount of times i've seen someone trying to get off a drive by sticking it in first and flooring it. all they end up doing is polishing the snow and making it worse. so much easier to stick it in 3rd and gently rock out with clutch control and the smallest amount of throttle. or people anchoring on to go on to a round about only to slide like an ice skater on to the round about. when using the gears to engine brake would have done it. i've even had people tailgating in heavy snow while my rear end is twitching;

Well i went and did it i have ordered a load of stuff. being that my budget was to do the whole lot 2nd had for about £150 i have gone way over budget lol. so what did i get i decided to invest in a new amp instead of 2nd hand after SMD's advice that they are like cars, and you don;t know who used it and how; i decided to have more comeback and buy new; as budget was limited i didn;t go for the amp i really wanted which was the yamaha 673 but it was the best part of £600. I went for a pioneer after some advice from Ekona that its the speakers that make the system. I got the pioneer vsx 527 k as it offered DLNA connection and air play plus better rear connectors than the others and more HDMI connetions etc usual price £349 i got it for £200 from superfi. last one of their special offers (richer sounds have the same offer at the mo) as for speakers i got myself some KEF HTS 2001.5's, i also managed to get the stands and cables. was going to get bookshelf speakers but after having a discussion with the wife and in this case size did matter, and the smaller the better was what she said. in fact she is very anti full on surround sound. we were looking at kit and her and the sales man were try to convince me a sound bar was a good option. but i stuck to my guns and am going full 5.1 and i got these for a £170 all in so i think i got myself a bargain there. all in i've spent 3 times my original budget, amp should be with me by the end of the week and hopefully have speakers on wednesday. will let you know how it all goes and what the sound is like. -
Anyone near Wigan willing to pick something up for me

people your off the hook! got some speakers else where but thansk for the offers -
Fuel additives are all good and well, but they take a good 2 tanks of fuel to work through, so if your willing to do the best part of 700 miles before turning up to the test centre i don;t thin thats going to work. If it was me i'd get an OBDII on to it and check and see if the lamdas have kicked up a code, you might just need a new lamda sensor. they don;t always turn the CEL on; so a code reader is required. there are quiet a few of us on here with the kit that can do that for you, or a garage should be able to check it. If its all clear my next trip would be to a terraclean provider http://www.terraclean.co.uk/ I must admit i was sceptical when i first cam across this on wheeler dealers, but having donw some reading it seems to be very effective.

if you can push to it, get winter tyres, if you live down south like i do where winters are never that bad, its just a case of driving to the condition, and if the condiotions are too bad, don;t drive. all my rear wheel drive cars have been all year round drivers. all have coped fine on summer tyres. some people think the zed will implode on anything other than perfect conditions. this is not true, its a very stable platform and although its figures say high bhp its weight and presence actually help it drive like a lower powered car in bad weather. as cars go its a brilliant starter car for anyone new to RWD as its extremely responsive with good feedback. it doesn;t snatch and grab like some cars and it generally remains progressive. but with any car; you over cook it, you lose.
