  1. its on the number plate, most likely done more to his than yours. but frustrating all the same.
  2. i love to play in my workshop, thats why its my job teaching others about it. for me i'd love to be my own boss.have my own workshop and do my own thing.but its just not viable for me to step out and do that. so i do things as hobbies. getting a wood lathe at christmas so i can get back into my carpentry properly. was going to turn the garage into a mechanical setup for doing car work, but to be honest, i can;t get the jag in.and would rather eb able to shut the door and work with wood. such a great material and i love turning it into something. very rewarding. and a great hobby.
  3. my grandparents farm hand leanrt lots of skills while he worked for my grandparents, he could fix most things and weld. when my granparents retired he had to find work else where.i think he ended up wroking for a truck company, but becuase of all his skills especially the welding he became invaluable made alot of cash as he could do so much more than the younger lads. my old driving instructor worked out in canada for a while welding submarines; such a versatile skill. once you have it you can do so much with it especially in car restoration. start with MiG but if you can learn TiG thats where the money is. could even move in to fabricating your own exhausts. and if you can paint as well. your laughing.
  4. i'd say a welding and painting course would be more useable. along with mechanics. if you went the painting route an airbrushing course could open doors. just depends on how artisitc you are i suppose.
  5. yep i'd probably have a 2nd job, or do a course or more photography, or be an xbox genius on BO2
  6. to be honest strapping torches to the car will most likely help, but just doesn;t look so good. others upgrade the older lights to the bi xenons from the facelift gen. apparently a lot better, but not as good compared to other manufacturing rivals. i found my old lights used to drop over time, and getting them re-levelled every so often made a big difference. i always upgrade my full beams anyway. either to philips or OSRAMs
  7. that was really interesting i enjoyed that beavis. always thought 3d was a waste of time, i prefer more high res HDs tuff i find 3d glasses on top of my own glasses loses alot of the detail. i knew 4k was on the way but didn't know about 8k. i'm hoping my TV will last a good few more years and maybe when 4k has dropped in price i might upgrade then. and 2020 sounds like its going to be a good year.
  8. pop into an MOT centre they'll probably adjust it for free, and they have the beam readers to set it at the right height. from memory the stock bulbs are 4500k upgrading to 6k might help.
  9. i bought a sony 42" LCD HD about 5 years ago, been really pleased with it. but the guy in the shops said not to rule out Plasma as they have come along way, and offer good value for money. i asked what the difference was; in short he said: plasma = great for fast action movement LCD =more vibrant colours
  10. Yeah mate, i work 12 hours sat and sun. I had knee surgery so i cant train as intensely as i used too. I know it sounds lazy, but if i went back to working mon-fri i would take a 3k a year wage cut! I feel as if I've been semi retired since i was 26 years old' hang on if you work more you get paid less you sure your not in teaching are you on the dole? if you get a job they cut your job seekers allowance?

  12. when recently looking at TV's i was told if you buy anything buy panasonic. go for the best picture. most smart features are now on sky it seems and expanding. also have most on xbox and if my wife gets an apple TV that will do it all as well.
  13. so if i get this right, you only work 2 days a week? I'm a teacher so i have no spare time, i work during the day, i work in the evenings and then i work at the weekends.free time is something i dream of.
