  11. Offer now closed. Thank you for your orders Mods can now lock.
  12. Me too, but I've enjoyed it something I've never done before and learnt some skills along the way. The dials have come down about 4cm and the Hazard switch about 1cm. The hazard switch should be fine as there's the Alu surround that will be in place, which will also need some fine tuning. There's always a way to fix these things, a dremel and a hammer! If anything I'm more worried about making the two central pieces into one. Some serious bonding and reinforcement required. I've got some ABS plastic on hand to heat and melt to form greater strength inside of the central section.
  13. Good call. Not yet, but there's a fair amount of room behind there. The White box sits far enough back so should clear. If anything doesn't clear or is touching I've got a dremel and I'll just go to town on the bits that get in my way I'm likely to encounter a problem or two, but will need to create some custom fixings to accommodate the change in layout. We shall soon see at the next stage
  14. Update from the weekend: Sanded down the gear surround to flatten out any imperfections. Re-sprayed with the high build primer and sanded once more for the final coat of high build. Sanded down the upper central dash. First off taking out the triple gauge hoods. A coat of high build, sand and a further coat of high build. Next few stages: Sand final high build with 1200 grit for a super smooth base. Fit the upper and lower dash into the car, inserting the ipad section between the upper and lower dash sections. Bond with 2 part epoxy glue, also glueing the join between the upper and lower dash. Leave to set, remove central dash and reinforce the joins. (From here the central dash becomes one unit. Fill gaps around the ipad mounting plate, and /or in any other areas. High build prime areas that will be painted. Drill holes into the iPad mount so that fixing the dash to its oem mounting points is possible. The iPad mount will have some suede behind the iPad itself, covering any mounting holes. Spray the entire dash gloss black. If this results in imperfections then I will probably go ahead with the Carbon Skinning. Ultimately I want a perfect finish. If the gloss works I'll be happy. Next weekend for further instalments
  15. Dan, I'm not sure on this North/South divide you've got going on here. Are the snowflakes any different? Roads gritted differently? Snow is snow. If I'm in London and it's 5 degrees and I've got my summer tyres on, head up the motorway and before I know it zero degrees, along comes the snow and I'm fooked. If I've got my winters on, I'm increasing the chances quite some to get home. I for one don't want to be doing this again with summer tyres on, especially during my 80 mile each way commute. A 45 minute journey took 4hrs. The zed stands no chance of hills in snow/slush. Winter tyres developed for snow will decrease the risk.
  16. Same happened to me, but still they're wet performance is better than a summer tyre.
  17. Happy Birthday Netti, tell us what you got? See you on the 12th Have a great day
  18. I'm about a week away from swapping mine over. Depends on the weather but with temps hanging around 9-10 degrees my MPSS have been perfectly fine. Had a few mornings below 4 degrees but nothing worth worrying about yet.
  19. But the sensor is plastic, and is oem. So that doesn't add up?
  20. Herewith below a full set of Brembo calipers which I have been meaning to polish, although I'd highly recommend not bothering. The paint is ridiculously tough even with being stripped. Should have sand blasted them really. Anyway, they are surplus to requirements. I'll be sending these off to the Brake Caliper Specialists who recently did my Ksports (pic below). So this is an opportunity to get yourself a set of custom cloured brembos without the hassle of doing it yourself. If you wish to purchase, pay a deposit and I'll send them off for a clean up and returned with the colour of your choice. At this point the remaining balance is paid. If you're running JDM's you've got an upgrade, or if you're simply looking for a colour change this will make for an easy swap. This sale does not include pads, rotors or lines. Just calipers and a colour of your choice. (And also doesn't include the Ksports ) Calipers had around 45k on them when they were removed. Any questions fire away. Total price including paint and delivery is £800. Example:
  21. Bravo Don't ever give up!
  22. Skulls look wicked! Love the touch round the gear stick, very cool!
  23. So in effect: If you are stopped the CAI gets warm/hot affecting the timing. So if you want to drag race you're performance will be penalised by, well, it's got to be all of 2bhp if you're lucky. If you are driving say 50mph the intake shouldn't suffer from heat soak due to the airflow. Unless you're in Dubai then the outside temps are quite a lot warmer. So you'll probably be back to loosing 2 or maybe even 3 or 4 bhp. If I was to put 5bhp on a switch in your car, turned it on you wouldn't even notice. You'd probably notice more if I blinked!! The problem with a dyno is the air feed isn't exactly realistic. So no Dyno is going to prove if the CAI should be making horsepower, as the wind effect is far from realistic. The fan at Abbey is in a room at the back of the workshop. So the "cold" air has to be drawn in from a further room, of which the ambient air is some 15-20ft away. The dyno at Horsham and the fan is as close to ambient air as possible, some 2ft. For the sake of a CAI I wouldn't fuss if it made me 3bhp or I lost 3. It will never make what the manufacturers claim they do. Look at the published bhp figures for a zed. Brand new off the factory line, whack it on a dyno you'd never see the bhp figures they advertise.
