Ok I found the problem. I had the initial error message so I clicked back and copied my text just in case it's lost as I've created the Mail on my phone. I paste the text into "Notes" on my phone. Since pasting the text into the PM space and pressing send it would error. I Re-typed the text again, fresh, and it worked. So there must have been something wrong with the copy paste into the PM. Very very strange eh. I've now managed to send a PM at last lol.

IF it turns out you need a gearbox, I'll have one for sale in January from a 2006 revup (which I understand was the better gearbox - can't say why I'm not that technically minded. Price will be competitively cheap.

I'm liking that idea. It's basically what Soundman does I believe. Daryl I'm trying to make my life as easy as possible by keeping as many clean lines as possible. Just a pain waiting for things to set or dry.

Yup that's the Soundman custom one. Thing is, his one doesn't charge the iPad. So I thought I'd have a bash. I see what ya saying and 100% agree but I may have a little trick up my sleeve to conceal it, which is the knee pad from the facelift dash. I'm hoping to get it concealed behind there. If I'm not happy then I will pop it out. Oh to add, my soldering skills are very poor. I guess I could knock Husky up maybe?

You can get a 90 degree "modified" adapter from Soundman, but I wasn't prepared to pay the price he charges. That pic I've read his thread on the dock etc. I was going to go for it but I'm kinda getting impatient now and want IT done, so it's going to be a bit of a bodge with the wire. See how it is, if I hate it then I'll eother go for the dock like you've exampled or go for the Soundman modified adapter. I'm hoping the limelight will detract away from the cable but I'll do everything I can to conceal it.

Another weekend update. The top and bottom sections are now "as one" to allow me fitment of the ipad. So some sanding and strengthening, then the insertion of the ipad. Which was then bonded to the dash section. So we are on a raw state which now needs some filling and shaping. You may wonder why the wire for charging and sound has been hacked out the side. Basically I chose to place the iPad lower down I've now got an issue with the cable, it's no big deal as it's going to be painted black and concealed the best way I can behind the dash. Next is filling and shaping. Still more work to do, such as fine filler and more shaping. But this is getting real close now, the final base coats and the beginning of the final gloss black finish. There's also some fine tune fitment needed for OEM parts such as hazard light switch and AC controls. I'd say two or three weekends and it will be final pics.

What did you think Time Machine was, a portable Mac Tardis Anyone with a modicum of tech savvy will be able to retrieve anything you want and re-install the OSX. I thought it was the world clock, "time" machine Thing is time machine popped up the other day and wondered what it was. Thought of its a backup thing then I'll do it, but first remove all the pics as I didn't want to back them up in this fashion. Wish I had now There's a guy at work in IT who's a super mac geek. Thanks Dave and Chris, I didn't even know what "time machine" was till now. Why didn't they just call it "BACKUP" instead of calling it after Back to the Future!! Fecking mac twollop!! I'll take it to work, someone is bound to help out, esp one of the techy guys. Thing is I have a spare 1tb drive that I bought and was going to take all important things off. The pics are part way through being transfered from my 500g to the 1tb. Hate computers lol

No windows installed and tried on and off a few times. Did the disk check thingy and didn't report any errors?

No backups on the time machine. Got a heap of pics I transferred from a hard drive onto it with a view to transfer to my 1tb external drive. I'm guessing this is a total loss?
