  1. Here's another video showing the finish. Triple gauges installed, satnav controls etc. The Hazard switch is causing me a little issue, so I need to spend a bit more time perfecting but wanted to get a video up in reasonable light. I can't believe that despite making this a single dash section it fits so well. Anyway enjoy the final video.
  2. Thought I'd contribute near the end as I know you're so indecisive - but the end results looks brilliant. Can I have my bumper back
  3. A sign of age setting in Neil I've already gone deaf with my MD, I wake the entire street at 6am Sounds like some good looking plans
  4. Ha ha thought you were going civilised lol. Go for it, sometimes a big change makes all the difference.
  5. Been following his series for months in fact over a year to gain tips. The Audison system they install into the SRT8 is basically what I've done but with Morel components. I'm in the process of buying a house at the start of the year so I'll be buying stuff bit by bit and building as and when funds allow. Cars is getting all the stickers taken off though and made more civilised so I can actually get to drive it. At the moment with the way it is just isn't fun and I don't have the spare cash laying around to go to the track every week, anymore. Keep the exterior the same. She's nice the way she is.

  7. Here's the converter..... http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=121526022565 DC to DC Converter Regulator 12V to 5V 3A 15W Car Power Supply UK Stock LED
  8. Skip to 1m 15s or watch all to get the full picture. Edit : I chose the step down 12v to 5v so to direct fit and not plug into the cig lighter. Less wires hanging about.
  9. All I had to do was dismantle it to make it more compact. Then attach a stepdown voltage thing. Plug in the Optical Cable and away I went. I'll find my resourcing video.
  10. Basically yes. It has a digital optical out which feeds the signal to my processor. Basically the main link between the ipad and output to the car.
  11. Prepared to drop the price and/or accept a price not having them painted etc. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/92809-fs-full-set-of-brembo-calipers-with-a-colour-of-your-choice/
  12. Thanks Mark, I'll get better pics tomo too as black is of course very difficult to photograph.
  13. Oh, but if anyone wants tips or advice from travels in doing this mod, just hook me up.
  14. Thanks peeps really appreciated. Glad I'm now at the final furlong. My biggest worry was setting up the Processor to receive the digital signal but it was just a few clicks of the mouse. It really does need a pro tune as there's something like 30 bands of equalisation on the processor. I was also sceptical that my Pure i20 modification and electronics connecting everything had maybe a fault but it worked first time. In terms of future builds or sales I doubt I'll have the time. Soundman in the US charge £800 for this sort of thing, I can see why as I spent a good 20hrs on this if not more. Although my total outlay for making the iPad dash was around £150 including the spare dash. Can't wait to test out all my functionality.
  15. I think the "correct" term you are looking for here is...... BROKEN!!
  16. Okay, here's the vid boys and girls. Electronics and Audio are working perfectly, as required. Here's a short video: The central dash section is a perfect fit. The plate that houses the Sat Nav buttons requires some adjustment as the bonding behind the iPad holder is stopping the buttons from clipping in, which should be a simple fix. The aluminium surround that would screw into the rear of the lower dash section is hindered by the now lower AC controls. The bonus is that I only need two screws for the AC section, so I can remove the screw tabs at the lower part of the AC controls so the aluminium gear surround will now affix nicely. The hazard light button also hindered by the lower AC controls will need shaving a little, so that fitment is perfect. Triple mount gauges will go back in nicely - no modification needed Hope you enjoy the video, apologies if the music isn't to everyones taste, but as light was dissipating fast I wanted to get the video shot and uploaded. I'll be fixing the adjustments that are required tomorrow, which shouldn't take too long. Then it's onto getting the dash lacquered for protection. Happy as a pig in mud!!
  17. Okay pics will follow later today and a short video. BUT! Just to say it's ****ing IN!! All connected, Processor connect via Optical Out from the iPad and the sound is def improved from the headunit. Dash fits perfectly even though it's now just one piece. Going to now fit gear surround, AC controls and Hazard switch gear. Don't expect anything till tonight, but to say I'm pleased thus far is an understatement. I'm God damn over the moon :yahoo:

Also, if you're looking at the ProBolt Aluminium Strut Bolts, just be warned they are not verified fit for purpose. Their strength is a great deal less than Steel or Titanium. I have the Aluminium bolts on my Strut Brace, but there will be a day they snap - although they have been good for 2+ years now.

Almost there Darren, 25mm for without a spacer and 30mm with a spacer. They must be flanged, also as Ian pointed out fine pitch. If anyone manages to get this combo in the UK shout me, as I get mine from Germany for the Spacer kit. Might be easier getting M10 1.25 25mm flanged in the UK but never tried as they would be useless for a spacer kit.
  20. BM I doubt the sound is going to be any worse than it is now. The MD exhaust is loud. I'll have an exhaust actuator hopefully, all dependant on the cost of the exhaust build. But I want the option to have a more civil exhaust tone, or there will be a need for a Jackhammer
  21. Bloody hell Graham I know vultured are in like a shot but wowzers!! That's super fast!! Thing is I was going to give Wendy a nice install too. To be fair the BOSE audio in the Alfa is 1000 times better than the Zed BOSE. All it needs is a bit more Sub bass and some increased tweets. As I don't want to lose too much boot space to an audio system the Alpine would be a good solution. BUT, I am thinking about doing two 8's isobaric as I've done before. I'll def let you know if it will be available for sale Mr G

You'll struggle for Strut Brace bolts unless you fork out for Titanium.
