Yeah, I like to relax whilst sitting in traffic using the central console as an arm rest
-
Well, so much for the install over the weekend. I've managed to strip the interior - atlhough productive - makes my car look like a bomb site! I didn't manage to install the NOS due to the fact it's far from simple, and I really don't want to screw this up! Therefore all that's installed is the switch. Shamefull I know.... The car is still in a stripped stage - on the basis I have decided to take the car back to the Wizards and let them install the damn thing! At least it should cut down the install costs as half the labour time is taking the car apart! Got to say not very comfy driving without the centre arm rest console. So I am afraid there is no update (apart from the switch) - which I have to say does look good. Once I am booked in for install I shall arrange for some pics!

Thanks Ian and Bennet, The SC will be continously active, thus giving greater long term stress to the engine. Nitrous will provide the same solution although only when required. The car is then more comfortable with day to day driving. That said, Nitrous can also be damaging. Not only is the SC fairly costly, you also have the fitting costs as well. As previously mentioned this is only a project to allow me the "option" to blast other cars on dual carriageways or on other suitable roads (not that I will be breaking the speed limit - just getting there a little quicker ) I will be making a visit to the Nurburgring in August although this is only a pleasure trip and not a competition. God can you imagine, race spec car and then get to the carousel and bin it into the barrier (due to having no experience of the track). This is purely recreational - who knows what will happen once I really get the bug - then I could potentially take things a lot more seriously, although that also takes SERIOUS funds! Lightening the car is also an option - I've already investigated a carbon boot lid, carbon doors and so on - although as mentioned - serious funds. Oh just to mentioned - the ARC box has made a very slight improvement mid range - although now that the ECU has adapted I have now lost that power. Although with my instructions that came with the Plenum Spacer - it give step by step instructions on how to reset the ECU - so until a re-map I can reset the ECU as and when to take into account the ARC box. To be fair, the sound is cracking! Thanks for your comments chaps...

Interesting, you say - my mate is now contemplating NOS himself for the Type R - I think he was more excited about seeing my NOS that me!! I'd really like to review saving some weight too. I've been checking out Titanium Exhausts - expensive I know, but massive weight savings. Not only that but carbon boot lid - not too expensive but def a good investment for saving weight. I'd love to strip my luxuries out the car, but feel that I wouldn't enjoy the car for what it is. If I had the spare cash I'd have a 2nd Z just for moding, but that's not possible.

Aha!! my NOS has arrived! After spending £1,100 on the kit I am dead excited!! Wallet feels a bit lighter, although in the back of the car is my project for the weekend. Looks like I am starting with a 25bhp to start with (advice of Wizards of NOS) upgrading the jets in intervals once I am happy the kit is working to it's potential without hicups! I shall take staged pic's to upload over the weekend. In addition my new plenum spacer received today from Envy Performance will also be added - so it looks like I'll be a mechanic over the weekend - so that's no Modern Warfare 2 for me this weekend

Nice one thanks Ian....

I don't think it's relevant unless you have the copper outfit. Although I have only read through the instructions very briefly. I have one question though, taking off the strut brace, is this much of a job? And of course thanks Sarah for a super efficient service!!

Ok no probs

What's happening with the June proposal -any news? by the way - good to have more midlanders!
-
Looks like it's Abbey for me then. Thanks for providing the finer detail regarding Weston Performance. I'd like to get a re-map done at Abbey before Wales although not booked in could potentially be an issue. NOS is being delivered today along with new plenum! Guess what I'm doing this weekend under the gazebo!! (cos it will rain - won't it!!)

There is a skyline specialist near me in Shirley, Solihull - West Midlands. It's called Weston Performance. I have been down there to look round their facilities, it looks very good. I am not sure on their experience or knowledge of the 350 - neither am I aware of their technical ability to re-map the ecu's like maybe RS or Abbey. Even though this garage is only 4 miles from my place I would still be interested to drive to Abbey just from the feedback of this site.

I am interested.... Questions - Brand are we talking Motordyne? If so what are the differences between - Basic, Thermal and Copper? Are there any further benefits of fitting the MREV 2 Manifold? (This would all be for a 2006 uk Z 296bhp)

Where do I start, you don't see a Z for ages and then 3 pop up at once. Here goes.... (All Kuro) 1. Heading out of Moseley near police station sat at junction with passenger waved 2. Heading up the Middleway towards Fiveways... Sprinkle driver - waved but no response 3. After leaving Fiveways heading towards Cape Hill - a further Z leaving the crossroads driving towards Fiveway! Hi to all those met this morning - and I bet sod's law none of them are 350z-uk forum members?!

Good tips, I will have to take you up on those suggestions. May even meet on those nice roads!!

I'm very tempted and like you say not more names from the midlands. I need to check calendar for any other non car related events. I'll let you know... -
Confused female in need of help...!!!

Andlid, that's porn!! Not only do head turn - people talk. I work in a building of 8 floors, the amount of people who came up to me and said "do you own the Z?" Every time somebody asks I feel like yelping "yes that's me" - a great feeling. Audi, BMW, Merc owners all ask about the car. It may have a Nissan badge on the front, but boy oh boy, they have really made a cracking car. You should come along to a local Z meet, get a better feel for the addition. -

Some people have mentioned you may get a few heads turning. Try driving through a small village, sun is blazing but whilst waiting at the lights, people are crossing the road - and nine times out of ten people will always give your car a lookover!! They will also look back once you leave the lights due to the pure harmonic sound the car emits, as the sounds bounces off the various buildings in the village. I've had mine almost a year and the dam thing still makes me smile, purely by how rewarding the car is. You put the other competitors lined up next to the Z and there will always be 1 winner - looks and sound and if you put the running costs against them all the Z win's again! If you opt for the competition you will always look back at the Z and always feel as if somethings missing! Go Z girl!!! (I forgot to mention - how may TT, Z4, Merc drivers wave or acknowledge each other - only the other day I met Ruddles in Malvern - great support and enthusiasm for a truly fantastic car!) -
Why not get a 370z - rear strut brace removed, which I thought was purely to allow you to take your pets along too? On a serious note, the Toureg has some SERIOUS torque..... I've heard that if you slam it in reverse, floor it, you can actually reverse the earths rotation!!
