engine mod's are great fun the only problem is that it costs a fortune. That's it for mods this year as I have the Europe trip coming up and then Christmas will be along soon. So next mods will be in spring next year. True it probably is a lot safer to not run the nos below 4k but if it's only on the odd occasion I would have thought it would be ok. One for Mark to answer. Yes the Nos comes in at 4k in all gears although due to having the progressive controller it will manage the amount of jetting depending on which gear i am in. 1st gear is I think 60% nos and about 80 in 2nd with 100% in the remaining gears. The great benefit is motorway driving as I turn it off once I hit 6th gear where as a super charger will still be active using more fuel unnecessarily. I didn't get a chance of a vid today so will try and sort one for my journey to work as there is a nice stretch of road

Updated Dyno charts WHP 309.7 Torque 298.1 Plot 1. After Uprev and mods, ARC induction, Plenum Spacer, XYZ Pipe, De-cats Plot 2. NOS at 25 shot Plot 3. NOS at 75 shot

I am pleased with the figures, only problem is the hit comes at 4k, which is fine, but it gives the extra edge when pulling away. The dyno was run in 4th gear, so I can't wait to blast it on the motorway in 4th and see the difference. My bottle pressure was a bit wayward yesterday due to the heat, but today should be a good day for it. It's an odd setup really, the dyno room is at the back of the garage and has it's own retractable door with the fans built in. Very clever. The hub dyno is even stranger, as you can't believe these little boxes can hold the power being delivered to them?! It does feel high tech in the room, especially with all his laptops and software connected to the car. Technology really has come a long way. We discussed have multi maps in the car. Something I'd like to do, although it's case of which maps would I like installed in the car. It's a simple as pressing some button on the steering wheel to activate different ecu maps. Smart! I'd also like to see if it would be possible to have multi NOS maps, say for instance I wanted NOS to pump at 2-7k - rather than 4-7k - that surely would see more power througout the band, ok using more NOS and fuel, but it would make for interesting 0-60 times.

Andlid, I have 3 £10 camera's I've already done some shots without some of the mods. I may take the camera out with me today and shoot some film etc. Anyway, herewith the charts from yesterday. They plot 3 markers - 1. After Uprev and mods, ARC induction, Plenum Spacer, XYZ Pipe, De-cats 2. NOS at 25 shot 3. NOS at 75 shot I was hoping for a bit more than received for the 75 shot, but still pleased at the overall performance. The mods have improved the 1k to 4k band - and the NOS takes over from the 4k mark onwards. I'd like to see what other people think, as I am getting used to the power. Okay it's not as great as a SC or Turbo - which will provide more power lower down the revs, although this is perfect for whenever I need some boost!! Video 1 - a look round the Dyno room Video 2 - front shot of dyno run Video 3 - the charts in action during dyno run 2 Please excuse the wind noise in the dyno room as I was stood right next to the huge fans!!! Enjoy! This is the end of the Nitrous install thread.... unless I get coaxed into forging the engine and then taking nitrous one step further

Ouch those look painful. I will need new pads for my European trip, don't want to be crashing on the Nurburgring due to worn out pads.

Further update 75 shot jets installed - reading some juicy figures. I'll upload the charts later as I am going back out to drive the car again - I'm that proud of the install and the knowledge and experience provide by Mark @ Abbey. Top man! Took great care of the car, had drinks, comfy sofa and magazines for the duration of the morning and given a prize at the end of it. Figures are:.... Blast I still can't read these charts.... Mark keeps telling me but it's not sinking in.... okay lets just say hit 4k revs and its intergalactic (slight exaggeration) but it feels a whole load better! That red switch really does something now, more so than the 25 shot. I have to say the car seems even quicker without the NOS running, so I don't know what you did and if it was accidental, don't worry I love it I am now big time sitting on Oh once I get back from my drive and a pint - I'll also upload the video.

Have they said what this does to the gallon?!! You wouldn't fit this in your garage eh?

When the 350z first came out a friend at work managed test drive one from a dealership and somehow kept the car for a week! It was Azure and boy oh boy it gleamed. He took me out for a spin and by chance we hit the A3 from Weybridge heading north. Down the slip 50mph, and before I new it we hit a ton and kept going!! The whole car as a package from that point was perfect. Sound, Looks, Comfort, Gadgets, Performance. All in all I couldn't fault it. Anyway at that time the prices were holding very well, I’d look at the 2nd hand dealer list every so often to watch the price. I got to a point that I was going to purchase at £23k - but held off due to relocating to Birmingham. Another year passed and whenever I saw a Z on the road a small puddle of dribble would appear at my feet. I knew I would have one - one day! It was then another good 6 months (after driving the other half's MGTF 135) I suddenly got the urge. From the MG being a great corner muncher I had to get back on the net to find my new car! I spent the next 3 months looking daily on Autotrader. Then one day one popped up - funny enough Azure. The decision between Silver or Black was eating me up, but Blue was my virgin experience. Lets go see the car. The dealership were funny with me asking if I just wanted to have a drive in the car - as the previous customer was out just for a spin. Anyway I said that I want to have a good look round the car and take her for a spin. She started her up - and I thought straight away that's my car! It was immaculate - still in warranty, good mileage and came with all the added extra's. I couldn't moan, although it was a couple of grand more than I wanted to pay, but still this was going to be my car - it was just too perfect. I took her for a spin - and strangely enough the sales lady was a petrol head - we hit the dual carriageway and she said boot it one! I had to oblige - this is still my car!! Got back to the dealership - smiling like a Cheshire cat and placed my identification details on her sales desk to purchase the car. The best decision I ever made - despite being the first Z that I saw. Like others have said - I just drive because it's the most satisfying, all round car. It turns heads, I've had people take photo's of it in little villages but the best part about it is..... it's a Nissan. Not a Porsche or Ferrari, or even an Aston. it's a Nissan and I think that makes it a little more special - it's the dark horse that rises above the rest of the competition because it has character and isn't pretentious! Sorry for the long story.....

Riddles that editting is amazing. I've got some decent software at home, I'm sure it's good but for the life of me I cant use the bloody software. I could do with some assistance for making a new signature now that the car has received some recent modifications.

Since when have prostitutes been nice girls...? They always look rough in my eyes!! Especially when you cross the German border into Czech Republic
-
I noticed that also - didn't look good in the slightest, neither was the styling of the bodywork. Another failed attempt by Porsche! Why don't they just stick with the 911 like they have for the last 100 years!!
-
I think when Mark took mine for a spin on the dyno it was reading 276 after 4 years and 40k miles. Not too bad, although like Clarkie says - mods such as plenum, air box and exhaust will bring the car back to what is should be producing. Along the way giving a much sportier sound!
-
Would you swap for an exhaust from a 1990 Nissan Micra. Might take a bit of time to fit but sure will be quieter
-
I have to be honest I also was having a good laugh at their expense. Agreed it's not as good as it used to be. I thought the Boxter was pathetic top speed 166 that's terrible, over 40k too. Still glad I have my zed.

Thing is if the car gets stolen you wont want it back, let the I insurance do the work. I took out a second insurance for £300 and it covers the car for 3 years. If the car is stolen or written off the insurance will pay me what the car is worth. My top up insurance will top the remaining balance back to what I paid for the car. I know what you mean about Paranoia I parked the car outside a supermarket when I came out I couldn't see the car and that was because it was hidden behind some bins. My heart did miss a beat for a second. If in doubt when leaving the car for a long period of time take out a fuse of some type so that they can't start the car!

For sure def meet up. That little red switch actually has a function now! Just make sure you're back for Sunday as it's the midlands meet!

Update 2: Purchase has been made for larger jets in the form of a 50 and 75 shot. Fitting will commence on Saturday 10th July.I'm currently running 283.1hp to the wheels, so when the 75 jets are installed I hope to be producing around 320 to 325 at the wheels. Fingers crossed it all goes well. That will be the end of my power upgrades where body work, engine cosmetics and any other mods will be done next year as I've got no flipping money left!!!

I have two cats sitting in my shed - I'd have weighed them for you but seems I'm a bit late with this thread. If anyone needs the weight of the Y pipe I can post that - which is also in my shed. I was also surprised at the weight of the cats.... heavy for what they are!!
-
I have a XYZ pipe and Japspeed de-cats and I'll pass the mot!! Within the XYZ pipe there is a race cat - instead of having two cats, I have just the one, although it will still pass an MOT. Here's a link to the sound viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38181&start=15
