  2. In changing my car insurance to Adrian Flux - my policy actually went down in price. I've included all modifications, plenum, uprev (if you can call that a modification), XYZ pipe, Air induction, Carbon boot, and not forgetting the NOS (specified at 75 shot). In addition to this if I want to change the interior or exterior in ANY way - my premium does not increase. Their policy states "if the modifications do not enhance BHP there will be no increase". I even get European cover, all Legal costs covered, replacement vehicle, lost keys policy too. All this and I saved about £60 on my previous policy. Okay there is one slight drawback - my previous Excess was £200, it's now £500.
  3. Are we talking at the wheels or fly? Also what year is your car? Cos if that's at the wheels that's mighty impressive! RS measure at the fly I believe. Right I see.... I was going to say 295 at the wheels with a plenum spacer and uprev is darn amazing!
  4. Just downloaded it.... fantastic - so easy to use!!

  6. Oh yeah good point. I won't be going to the jap show now got too much to sort for Europe so I will pop over some time one evening next week if that's ok.
  7. Wicked very helpful I'll make some calls when I return from Europe as the car is bound to get some sort of battering along the way. As long as I can play it safe round the Nurburgring without getting more than a dink
  8. Seriously bad news, I hope it's fixed soon and in time for Wales.
  9. Hmmmm I have a dink on each door, the arch stonechip is quite a big one, not a boulder but has to be around 2-3mm in size. I can see the primer which isn't good. I had heard of a company called Chipsaway - they are mobile - anybody had any experience of them?
  10. Just out of curiosity whats the process and cost for "dink" removal.... I have a couple that I'd like fixing. In addition I have one very annoying stone chip on my wheel arch. What would be the best process?
  11. Oh, just to mention any questions regarding MOT time - the XYZ pipe has a Race/hi-flow cat - and this acts as a replacement for the two cats which would be removed. So there are no issues installing these items. I've found the link viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38181&start=15
  12. Gains - heck, I can't give specifics to the XYZ pipe or de-cats as I had a job lot of modifications mapped and installed at the same time. I'd review the stats provided by Motordyne/Abbey for added bhp/torque - although what I can comment on is the sound. I was searching for months to find the right exhaust, as my "standard" looking Zed would look nicer with an exhaust. Whilst looking at Exhausts I was tempted to go for a Titanium version - but the costs are huge - so that idea has gone out the window until a lottery win or something. Mark @ Abbey suggested the XYZ pipe and de-cat pipes. (My requirements for sound are nice and sedate at idle to 3k revs - although not stupidly loud) In applying the XYZ pipe and de-cats you get a really nice "warble" at low revs and since they have now bedded in - it sounds superb!! I was although a little put back once you hit around 4.5 to 5k revs as the engine changes note so does the relative mods.... I can't describe the sound, but it wakes you up and gets heads turning. Not to be mistaken for Mr Saxo and his 7" exhaust. I really need to get a drive by sound clip - although I have a stationary clip somewhere. It's not the greatest of quality, I will post it later tonight. Overall would I say the XYZ pipe and de-cats are worth it. Yes, it helps for performance and sound. Is it a pain in the neck with the noise - no. Even the sound on the motorway appears no different. But only when you hit the pedal to the floor - then it changes.
  13. You've got the bug If you need any comments on the XYZ pipe and de-cats etc let me know
  14. I know what you mean. I went on holiday in June knowing all of my recent modifications were to be undertaken. I was more excited to return from holiday even before I had left. Upon arrival back into the UK - plans were set to collect the car - whilst everyone else is depressed with the english weather and the reality of going back to work - but for me it was a case of collect the car and hear not only the Z tone - but a new exhaust tone with uprev and XYZ pipes, decats, air induction and the NOS. I was like a child getting their first ice cream. Lets just say I never had the holiday blues. Get some more sleep and take her for a spin once more!!
  15. A bit off topic - although have you seen the Midlands meet thread? No which one? is that the Sept meet? Thats ages away!! It is - but nice to get some names down!

  17. No worries mate, I've had a lot of experience on Cod4 - World of War and now MW2 - of which I am nearing 3 online weeks of game play just with MW2. I also have mates of a lesser experience, everyone counts in the game don't forget that. You can kill just one person in the game that has a good killstreak going - that can upset their position for winning. Everyone counts!! It's about teamwork. You are more than welcome to tag along at any time.
  18. Martin - I'm reluctantly being forced into cancelling my attendance for Sunday. I am due to travel Europe the weekend following and there are still heaps of things to do before this. If you could therefore remove me from the list. Cheers
  19. If you end up being forced to break the car down - can I first dibs on the following: Mrev2 type Lower plenum Gloss black battery + brake fluid surrounds Polished Powersteering Bottle Polished Coolant tank Nismo Oil cap Otherwise good luck with the sale - I know what you mean when it comes to funding these cars. I've spent a fortune and won't be seeing anything like what I've spent back again. GLWTS!!
  20. True.... maybe it's a case of late listing? A majority of the dedicated will be there for sure. To be fair, the Sunday was quite hectic with the amount of cars, nice when parked in the hills at that pub, but the drive was far too "sunday driving" for me. Saturday was epic so looking forward to a good blast again. I'm sure there should be at least 20+ for both days - well I hope so. Maybe the MODS should email each and every member to get their attention!!
  21. Aye Whizzard Roadsters - you can pick them up for pennies now - I've been on the scene since '86 remember when they came out! You will be surprised how cheap Beetles are now - they have lost favour - Vans are the in thing - weird but I vowed never to get a Baywindow bus and here I am ...... Get one mate you wont regret it - http://www.carandclassic.co.uk re: interior I've gone for a classic 50/60's type look really cool blue and cream ,no time to keep modding it got a baby girl to bring up - finally learnt my lessons sometimes you need to stop and just enjoy the things you have otherwise you will just spend spend spend, polish and never use the damn thing! Anyway get your self off to Leeds next sunday http://www.vwfestival.co.uk you might just spot something you like Man oh man - can't afford another car yet. I've spent too much on the ZED already. I have plans next year to take the ZED to the next level in 2011 - until then funds are dry!! Although, I would love to have an old beetle and do it up - although again cost!! Ah the Wizzard thing, I was wrong - this is the example I meant - I used to love the lowered roof look http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_ima ... _large.jpg Give's it a mean stance! Can't make next Sunday - will be at the Jap2
