  1. you wouldn't have spotted me as I wasn't in the Zed, although saw you just past junction 13
  2. Another example today...... Driving out of the works car park and a bloke walked over and said "heck that engine sounds angry" I replied "Angry?" he said "Yeah like mean angry" must have been something to with the plenum mods and Arc air induction. So for good measure gave him a few more blips of the throttle. He walked away smiling.
  3. All to do with the colour I'd say. If you take the car abroad you get noticed even more. I was travelling Europe last year, first instance was parking on the boat, must have been three cars with occupants all glancing and pointing. Funny thing is the kids, they were bashing dad for his attention to look at the car and felt embarrassed driving his Citroën Picasso. Then parked in Chamonix to look round the Market and get breakfast. Come back to the car and a group of people are all looking through the car window and taking pictures. Third time whilst away I was sat at some traffic lights in a remote village. High sided buildings were all around so the burble of the exhaust was reverberating. Two kids were walking towards me on the nearside pavement, they both stopped and started talking to each other. As the lights changed I drove away slowly then once I'd hit 3k I floored it and the sound in the village was mental, but the look on the kids faces as I drove off was a picture. Strange thing is, they were looking at the car as if it was the first car they had ever seen? What made me laugh the most out of the entire trip was my mate driving in his Civic Type R, he said to me in a very grumpy manner "why do they keep looking, it's as if they've never seen a 350z before" I chuckled and continued our trip with a firm smug expression for the rest of the week. There have been loads of other occasions which why I think we ALL enjoy the car so much. High Road Tax, Expensive on Fuel, modifications burn a hole in your pocket. But to get that second glance or people talking to you about the car makes it all worth while. Enjoy it whilst it lasts!!
  4. Do what I did and take it to a garage.... I was charged 1.5hr labour.... I know it's not a solution, but an easy one.
  5. +1 on the protection. In addition you could apply some RainX to the rear window as that will aid water run off. I use RainX on all windows, apart from the quarter windows of course. Helps massively with rain driving.
  6. That Sony thing is friggin brilliant. Although once it's done it's stuff it's pretty much redundant. Clever though.
  7. Facelift was 2006+ Really puzzling! Might be worth ringing a moron at Nissan? Actually don't do that you'll end up going round in circles. Might be worth ringing the seller as you say.
  8. It's called fooked..... That's Carbon for you..... although it may need re-sitting. Taddy has the same sort of issues, although I have twisting issues by the look of things. The problem being is the weight of the boot is now non-existant, and therefore doesn't sit the same as the normal heavyweight oem version. I tried lowering the boot lock mechanism, although it's not enough to give the oem look. I may just revert it back to Carbon then it won't look so bad.
  9. Like you were saying Haydn - no phone kit = no buttons. Maybe because of this it doesn't provide you with the volume and track controls? Odd.... There's a fair few convertible owners on here, so maybe someone can double confirm, i.e. those with GT pack or without etc? Strange thing is it's got leather seats.... sureley that wasn't option without the GT pack.
  10. If you did fancy smoothing out here's some examples.
  11. If you can get £11,250 - I'd say that's a good price.
  12. Yes a very good price, although question the price, is there something wrong, or is it just the wrong pricing? As mentioned, I'm probably not the best for pricing unless somebody else wishes to contribute?
  13. To be fair with the drop top, you won't need a stereo as the V6 will be the main tune you'll listen to. In terms of pricing I'm probably not the best point of call on that subject, although at a stab, as long as it was in A1 condition, full service history etc I'd say anywhere between £12-15k
  14. I think that may be the case, and possibly no phone kit either. Always nice to have those extra buttons
  15. Left hand side is Phone and Stereo Controls.... Right hand side has Cruise Control. So it all depends on what was purchased when built.
  16. As you can see from my sig, I'm not very good at it. Although I'll have a bash if you want?
  17. Might be..... Although to be fair, there's not a great deal more I can do in the engine department as it will surely cost a small fortune. So I'm left with the exterior now. Spacers are on at last, wheels refurbed, bodykit purchased, just need to get it painted. There's a few more things I'd like to get done, although I doubt I'll have any spare cash left.
  18. Ah well there's a surprise coming round the corner, all will be revealed at Wales. And before you ask no it's not copious amounts of NOS.
  19. I like the black style you have, but I'd avoid the camber you have going on there, serious tyre wear!!!!!!!
  20. Next alternative is to drape wet towels on affected area for about two hours. This could prove difficult as the paint is on the underside but if you can find a way to make the area wet/damp the emulsion will be easier to get off. I detailed a mates focus which was covered in emulsion spots, took me 4 hours to clay off. It was a bitch. Like you say if changing the skirts, that'll be the easy solution
  21. Starting to look smart in there. Hoses are on my list but can't afford them after my resent £2k expenditure!
  22. Clay will get the emulsion off.
  23. I can't solder, knit, paint, draw or anything to do with my hands. So I'll use the three aids in the box. I didn't actually get round to fitting the HUD and detailed the car instead. Clayed, polished, engine bay clean the lot. So it will be next weekend that I'll fit it.
  24. I think I'll go for it. As I have a few internal panels already off whilst sorting my fuses out. Just out of curiosity what are the best connectors to use for joining the wires to those in the car. I used to use scotch blocks or what ever they were called.
