  1. Sorry to see the state of your car, you must be gutted but thankful for the protection of the Zed and airbags. Could have been a whole lot worse, and thankfully not. One quick way to lose your pride and joy
  2. Looks spot on Chris. Nothing wrong with trying to polish a caliper, gave it my best shot considering what a bitch they are to do.
  3. You still haven't showed everyone your nuts!
  4. Not surprised at all mate If I was in the market for am exhaust this would be it. Me too
  5. There's also a V2 bumper round the side (deposit already taken) Cheers guys, and I am sad to see it go to be honest. Was one of my favourite mods. The amount of other high performance vehicles who have stopped and wound down their window to say how mental it sounds.
  6. I'm guessing that post should be on the build thread
  7. For sale! Probably one of the best sounding exhaust, and equally superb build quality. The exhaust is just over one year old and has been given a super clean and polish. Almost looks like new. This had burnt titanium tips but I've sort of polished off the burnt look over that time, but getting replacement tips can be ordered from Traders here. There are some minute scrapes on the mid box, which are on the back side of the box. My presumption is the mid box was installed upside down, so correctly installed there'd be no marks visible. The Y pipe is the Motordyne XYZ and is 4 years old. I've given this a good clean up (considering it was raised from the Titanic (Mouthwash)) it's come up real nice. The Flexi's are brand new and ready for the next owner. The construction materials of the Motordyne are fantastic quality and very meaty. The quality speaks for the age of the Y pipe after a polish. The entire system new, which the cheapest I've seen is £1,599 My price is £1,050 + delivery or you can collect from Banbury (Oxfordshire) or Chiswick (London). If you want an example of the sound see below. Any questions fire away. If you are serious about this exhaust please PM me directly, once a deposit has been made the item will be marked pending full payment. The deposit is non-refundable if you change your mind. I won't accept "dibs" on the for sale thread. Marks on the wrong side of the mid box
  8. Well stage one is get everything running and get a base dyno tune, incorporating improved headers and exhaust over that of the restrictive original 2.5" Corvette exhaust and full of cats and mufflers. I've also upgraded the Air Intake for the LS, allowing for huge volumes of air. Stock is 436 bhp @ 5,900 RPM and 428 Ib-ft @ 4,600 RPM. The important factor even stock is that you get 300 Ib-ft of torque at 2,000 RPM which continuously increasing to 4,600 RPM Whatever the first dyno delivers I'll be happy for anything above the stock figures. The benefit is that whacking a Air Intake on a LS3 over that of a Zed, you WILL be rewarding with positive gains. Once the engine and car is done, she will go in for stage 2 CAMS, where I'm looking to reach anything above 500bhp and 470 Ib-ft of torque. Once I'm thirsty for more power (I may be satisfied) then for the total cost of £7k a SC or Rear Mount turbo will go on. Regions of 650-700 are achievable. Anything above that and it's forging the engine time. Already purchased a Kazz 1.5 way LSD glad you've enjoyed the read..... (I might read it one day lol)
  9. What you basing that on Bennet? I ask as 4" was picked after research - in fact 4" is considered border line too big for an N/A LS engine - apparently the performance drops of dramatically if the pipes are to big. 4" was used as it's as big as you can go N/A but is also fine for first stage SC. This is because the engine was developed for the American market and has the CAT's and numerous silencers to keep it legal over there - this creates high back pressure that the designers took into account on the LS3 - This is just what we have been told by tuners and doing some research. If we are wrong the Zorst has not been built yet so we can easily upgrade to 5" now for very little cost - Best get it right now I think Bennett means tail pipe size not exhaust size 4" is huge though! Mines only 3" Yer Think I read that wrong first time - You only need 3 Wasso has a 6.3 - don't think you quite make that much displacement I only picked up on it as we were discussing Zorst size/bore yesterday and thought we may have missed something I know we missed out plans for a new bungalow Yup 3" bore front to back. It's also a 6.2 Chris but if you want to add 0.1 every so often I'll be more than happy.
  10. Quad pipes would look and sound awesome, all that popping and burbling Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Popping and burbling will happen with 2 or 4 pipes. I don't think 4 pipes suits the zed though.
  11. Oh and Bennett I'm quite happy get regular amounts of muffing
  12. I believe it's 2.5" from the headers. 3" entire system, but discussing 4" or 5" for just the tailpipes. Don't worry Bennett it won't be as loud as your "stealth" "no noise" supercharger the sound can be adjusted, we are working on at least two mufflers at the back with a poss view of a single X box in the middle. None of this flame spitting down the side Andy, no, just no. To be fair if it's too loud then we can always make adjustments. The tail pipes even if they were 5" would be no bigger than the Audi RS4 or TTRS, in anycase the exhaust will have a custom look which no other zed will have
  13. Funny you say that Dave, I was considering the actual pipes from a Corvette, but I just don't think it works with the Zed styling. I also have another plan for the exhaust, which will require a totally custom bumper, themed on the CS rear but better, much better! That side of the project will be at the end, just want all the necessary "running" bits in place and working well before cosmetics.
  14. Well good day fellow Zedders..... Today is a GOOD day! Here we have below some headers! Headers that are of course are made for a 350z but with V6+2 cylinders! And fitted looking down the side of the wing fitted to the engine. The exhaust should be round the corner hopefully within the next week or so. Design will be very similar to the Motordyne setup using cans which won't contain any muffling materials, allowing maximum airflow without going deaf. Back end will hold two either 4" or 5" slash cut brushed effect tailpipes. More updates as and when they occur
  15. Really nice wings I have to say PS Chris - love your nuts man!!
  16. I would have thought this question has been asked many times on the Martin Lewis site, did you not try there first? Us car folk do cars.......
  17. I can provide you a spacer AND a MREV 2!! http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/94770-fs-part-out-1-mrev2/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71728-fsbatch-4-custom-anodised-plenum-spacers-170/ PM me for any specifics you may require.
  18. Sorry and I understand your circumstances, but this wreaks a bad finish. I've done spraying in a controlled (or as conteolled as possible bar using a bodyshop) and trust me contamination either airborn or product related is a nightmare. Good luck, but using a part and cleaning won't give you the finish you are looking to achieve. You might get super lucky, but if your prep isn't done right it will look worse. Top coat needs two weeks to harden properly. Have you considered this?
  19. That's be cause Abbey don't actually refurbish them. They send them away to another company.
  20. I personally wouldn't drive the car if you're half way through painting. Carbon materials (Brake dust) that your average wash/degrease will penetrate the paint. What you believe is clean could react with the top coat and/or lacquer when you come round to it. Base coat (instructions on the tin) will tell you the ideal drying time, and next application recommendations. Same with top coat, and/or lacquer.
