  1. Once you listen to a decent instal the oem system really does sound like an amplified duck drowning and farting under water. Octets system has made me realise EXACTLY how sh1t oem really is. I've heard many installs from the simple changing of speakers, to adding a sub and then choosing quality products to replace the entire system. Really oem is good for nowt once you hear the difference, even just changing the paper speakers is enough to see the difference.
  2. From the motordyne website: The new Iso Thermal system combines our aluminum plenum spacer with thermal management components that substantially reduce upper and lower plenum temperatures. Cooler intake air temperatures increase air density, reduce the tendency for detonation (ping) and that increases engine power. The first component is an Aramid thermal isolating gasket that is installed between the lower plenum and intake manifold. By installing the Iso Thermal™ Aramid gasket between the intake manifold and lower plenum the heat transfer is significantly reduced and both the upper and lower plenum assembly run at much lower temperatures. The second component is a throttle body Coolant Control Valve (CCV) that allows you to heat (or not heat) the plenum assembly. With local weather temperatures below 55’F the valve is left open. In warmer weather the valve can be closed for maximum performance benefits. The third thermal management component is the new Iso Thermal plenum internal supports. The plenum internal supports are self retaining and self sealing. The fourth thermal management component is the Copper Throttle Body heater. It's an optional plug and play, set and forget component that can be used in place of the Coolant Control Valve (CCV). It doesn't matter how hot or cold the weather is, you don't have to adjust a valve based on the season or ambient temperatures. Just install it and the throttle body remains heated and the plenum remains cool.
  3. MREV2 is as simple as unbolt. And bolt back on. Loctite is discretionary I don't but totally up to you. Torque wrench (as per other post) Thermal, probably not, unless you're prone to very cold weather.

    Write off?

Sorry to hear that mate and that hopefully you're ok. I'm guessing this happened in the UK? Hope you get it fixed
  5. You'll need to remove two pins that act as bolts residing on the lower plenum which when fitted will be replaced with the bolts supplied. Leave the oem metal gasket in place if you wish, it'll only help with further sealing. No need for sealants either. The gaskets on the spacer provide the seal. Yes a torque wrench is a MUST. The plastic feet that sit inside the plenum can break under excessive tightening. A member has broken one which was a motordyne plastic spacer but none of mine have broken, either by correct fitment and tension or because they're better quality. The secondary reason to torque the plenum is due to the number of bolts and area to be sealed. So do follow the tightening procedure to ensure a correct and air tight seal.
  6. Hate the outside and inside but sounds brilliant!

  8. You didn't have to go to those lengths for a meet Martin
  9. I would say around 3 weeks but need full conformation from two of the companies this week for the plastic feet and the spacer itself. I should have a firm date provided to you this week.
  10. Well i knew youd want one so to save your fingers Also you're banned from anything other than polished I'm afraid.
  11. The next batch of spacers is half way through it's manufacture stage. Where I'm hoping to provide by the end of the week the ETA of when they will be ready for anodising (final process). Please indicate your interest with username and colour required. (Colour options are not limited to those below) Once I'm at the pre-anodising stage I'll require payment and your postal address sent to me by PM. Although I'll let you know in advance. If for any reason you don't visit the forum that often, then please supply me with an email address so that I can contact you promptly if needed. 1. 13. One thing I like on G35 and my350 is iTrader which shows internal sales and satisfaction comments etc. We could do away with the "trader" threads etc and actually pop it behind their profile. iTrader on my350 etc shows number of sales and a clear guide for anyone wishing to get a feel of their reliability.
  14. I'm the same click by accident or if I want to send that person a PM. I had noticed Twobears there was nothing to see via your profile, to which I was very disappointed.
  15. I think smudge would like black cherry, nice colour
