  1. It's a question of whether it can actually enter the cabin through normal driving though. Most of it will disperse into the air anyway and (from watching a few vids) most of the exhaust still comes out the back. Yes it can. Recently had the tiniest of blows between a decat n y pipe. At traffic lights within seconds you could smell the fumes through the transmission tunnel. Got it sorted after a week. But couldn't drive it due to headaches and nausea it caused. My wife & dad also noticed it. I know a decat with increase fumes etc but still lol Man it's you health.... why risk it? This ^^^^^^^ Next time you're under your car take a look beyond the gearbox, and see what exactly separates you from from the road beneath. Take into account this is where your gear stick will enter the cabin. There's not a great deal of protection in this area, and rightly so as it's not susceptible to water ingress. What you'll be doing is literally venting a large proportion of your exhaust gases straight up via the gear stick. Yes it's post CAT, although do you really believe there's nothing still within those gases that won't affect you. Dude, this is not a good modification, and I get what you're saying about a cheap sound mod, but just go and get yourself a decent exhaust in line with a budget that suits your needs. If you cannot justify spending that sort of cash on a decent exhaust, then trying to kill yourself may just be the other alternative!
  2. My name is down but up until this weekend I thought it might be touch and go, so I'm fairly confident now it's on! Chris, you know exactly what it'll be like even at zero miles an hour its epic! Cheers Jim, it has been a while and me and Chris were saying today, had there been no other life events this is a 4-5 month job. I said also to Chris this weekend, you can get a V10 LS! Oh my oh my It has to be fair, and considering the obstacles encountered we can actually say...... WE DONE IT!
  3. Evening.... update for this weekend, which came as a little surprise from Mr Keyser, and whilst he was just slowly walking round the car with a cup of coffee and fag, said "Well Wass, sort the clutch, fit the brakes, cut version 4 of the gear stick, put the plastics back, measure out the air intake for parts - we should be able to book her in for a MOT". To hear those magical words MOT only means one thing, she's finally near the end. Chris once again delivering a sterling job to fix the most awkward of issues, went straight ahead to deal with the air in the clutch. Bleed the system and things are already looking up. Next were the brakes, as the old disks were knackered and really didn't have to justify putting the refurbished Ksports on as they look bloody amazing. Front and rears below: We took measurements for the air intake, which is going to be a really tight fit. This evening has therefore been spent hunting down custom parts ready for delivery by the weekend. Chris then set to work on adjusting the gear stick, especially as it was knocking against the gear surround. An hour of cutting, milling, welding, grinding and smoothing he created a new version a little longer but now sweet as a nut! Not only that but the air in the clutch seems to have all but gone, and the gear changes are now second to none. Also had to source a new battery as my old one was now 11 years old and completely knackered. As I sold my old Nismo V2 front bumper, I'm now rocking a OEM front end, and it doesn't look too bad actually - paint match is almost bang on ha ha! Put all the plastics back together inside the car, hoovered up, mats back in, dash put back together. This just left us the easy part of washing her - which has been long overdue. Items left for MOT Attach wiper arms Re-fit engine plastics Registration plate to be fitted Items post MOT Arrange for Kazz Diff to be setup and then fitted Wheels to be sent down from Tarmac Sportz! (including Amuse front bumper) New wheel nuts, old ones are looking a bit shabby To conclude and after a number of times starting the car - I cannot explain the sound and the aura of this damn V8 - the noise if fecking insane!!!! Ultimately the journey is nearing the end from what once was a cold January 2 years ago, working in ZShed 1, with a group of other forum members feeling challenged by the commencement of this build. 2 years on and I'm kinda sad that it's almost over, and throughout this journey it's been fantastic working with Chris and his family. Although it's not quite over - further updates to come.... which there will be plenty as the final transformations (cosmetic) will proceed very soon. Final pic of her just waiting to be driven and abused!
  4. IF we can get some final bits sorted I may be in a position to join in! Chris said to chat with you regarding the Diff and bushings with your local garage. We are ready to send the diff off and also want some info on which bushes you purchased.

    Alpine A110

All I see is: A7 back end Megan's RS exhaust Scirroco front quarter to rear Bit of a mish mash, but great weight and power from a small engine. Clearly will need to be revved to get any performance! Alpine was a great name but not sure all this resurrecting is really working.
  6. Thanks peeps of the Zed community, only just managed to get on from a work day of hell. That now means a BOTTLE of the red stuff to relax! Won't be long now for the veee8 back on it this weekend hopefully. Might see about a couple of videos. Agreed Will, it's been a very long time, will def sort a meet out when the weather is more pleasurable. I'll also report back on Thursday this week after my drive out in the Ultima Evolution!

Ask them if they have any drugs, that may confirm their profession?
  8. I do 800 miles a week and costs me about £120
  9. I used my snow socks quite some years ago, when we had snow like. But when we did, these little babies rescued my Zed from being stranded. If you're lowered they will be tougher to fit, standard ride height and they're very simple to put on. The amount of RWD and equally FWD cars admiring me climb a decent hill made my day!
  10. Yes but when your welding is as bad as mine you have to grind it back to make it look good - besides the powder coat will hold it together Don't worry Chris is great at welding, and well know for SOLID penetration, just ask Bob Great work Chris got loads done by the look of things.
  11. What an anticlimax! But thank you Dan for your 25k of posts whether worthy or not the forum would lose a good fella..... keep posting dude!
  12. Oooh So how did Dan, Sarnie and Martin avoid the bug? And does that mean GM actually has the highest posts / day? Those with equal dates of June were part of the "testing" team, and I understand joining dates were lost as a result. Possibly, although hard to verify without official joining dates, you also need to consider those with a lower total post count may actually achieve a higher posts per day. Let's just say Dan talks a lot - as well as GM!!
  13. Joining dates are not correct for entries June 2012 as a result of the forum migration from old to new. Mike has been here since day DOT!
  14. You HAVE to start a thread for it! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Might be worth telling a short story as to how you reached 25k posts...... considering 24k of these posts were probably after you sold your Zed
  15. Go careful, you're nearly at the big 25k! Make it a worthy post remember (I know that'll be tough )
  16. The build thread has been here 6 years, just no excuses what so ever!
  17. That I do hope. Should be refreshing to drive her, it's been over 2 years since I drove her. Totally forgotten what it's like, might need fresh boxers! Well I started her up yesterday just to keep everything sweet - that noise (I may of had a moment ) I drove it last year (mostly sideways) : we have to revisit the clutch upgrade the brakes as above, sort an air inlet/filter put a front bumper on Wasso needs to put his ipad/music/touchscreen/whatever dash back together then down for MOT assuming it passes that it's all cosmetic bits and any problems that arise after we take it to Castle Comb and rag the life out of it (if we can get passed noise as it bloomin LOUD!) If we pass MOT I would say Wasso should be grinning this summer and to be fair he has waited a while Ha ha the dash is a cosmetic post MOT, especially as the amp and processor are in the Alfa. In fact that's nearly all finished now. May drive Suzi without music for a while..... don't think I'll need any form of 'music'. Yeah Chris did come back with a large after giving it some beans! Track WILL be an issue for many reasons, might have to affix some custom mufflers to soften the noise. Chris don't forget to reply to my email
  18. That I do hope. Should be refreshing to drive her, it's been over 2 years since I drove her. Totally forgotten what it's like, might need fresh boxers!
  19. Not just yet, Chris has been rebuilding his Radical over since October (I think). You know what he's like, a small crack or broken wire and it turns into a full blow strip to the bone job! Oh and a new engine, turbo, electronics...... so I've had to pend in the "waiting room". It's a good thing because I've managed to recover my weakening bank balance over that time. POA is to resume in the next couple of weeks, so there should be further updates soon. There's not a great deal to do mechanically now, although new diff, brakes etc are likely to go on soon. Bodywork will need finishing and then onto a MOT I guess.
  20. If I was a DE owner and it gave me less than 5hp for the price of a MREV2 I'd rather spend my money on a wiser more worthy product. You can't say c~5hp is going to be noticeable. 25, yes, but not 5!
  21. Agreed that's why I'm keen to see what these gains are, especially being noticeable and the fact Motordyne done market the item for a DE.
  22. Correct, totally useless for a DE. not so sure i agree with this one i fitted the mrev2 to my de and found it did make a small noticable diffrence also when mapped also again i assue it adds to the gains Interesting, so what gains did the MREV give?
  23. Correct, totally useless for a DE.
