  1. Half a dozen brake pipes, fluid, bleeding etc will be around £200-300 at a good independent. The pipes themselves are cheap. It's the labour that costs.
  2. I'm a maybe. Depends what time the wife and kids plan on arriving. We did Karting here a few years back and had a great time. Me, Lee, and Wasso are reigning champs!
  3. It's a "style language" Pretty much every manufacturer uses the same styling cues across their range. Nothing new in it, and surely nothing to get irate over.
  4. There's a few price comparison type sites for parts that are worth a shot. List what you need and you'll get prices for the parts from various breakers.
  5. Just a reminder. 0945 meet for 1000 departure. In the HOLIDAY INN HOTEL car park. This is NOT at the services!
  6. Dude! you realise you have just jinxed it and tempted fate!! Last year was a wet one, I hope it does stay dry! Are you camping on going luxury like Chris and Kris? It's a wet one every year!
  7. As title. Problem being that I'm a tight git at the moment as I'm saving for a respray. I know how much Eibachs are worth, so not really looking at those. If anyone is selling any MW Tech ones, or any other brands then I might well be interested. I can part ex an X Box 360
  8. No time this week! But on a serious note, if you ever want it machine polishing then I'm sure we could arrange a time for you to come to Hartlepool. I work for beer and donuts.
  9. If you have a genuine issue (past or present) with a trader here then please be open about it. Having sly digs about traders won't be tolerated - not because we are protecting the traders....it's because we simply don't know whether you (or anyone else) have a justifiable grievance or whether you are making it all up based on hearsay. Without traders this places ceases to exist (aat least in it's current free format). Vague comments about traders over multiple threads could cause them to give up and leave. That helps no one and ultimately damages the forum and it's members as a whole.
  10. Speak to Jurgen at JM Imports. Although he's predominantly a JDM importer he has been know to source and ship US cars for customers here. He'd be able to help/advise.
  11. With LakeZ and the Z32 25th anniversary meet coming up, I thought I should give the 300zx a good polish. It really needs a respray to be honest as it's stone chipped to buggery. Since I don't have the time for that at the moment a polish will have to do. Fished out all my detailing gear, and set about figuring out which stuff to use this time. Started off with Blizzard snow foam. This came with my Snow Lance, and I'm just using it up before starting on Bubbly Jubbly. It looks good on first application. But it has to be applied neat to get any decent foam, and it breaks down too quickly for my liking. The car had been given a full clay only 3 months ago. So a once over with some Tardis was all it took to remove a few contaminants and the previous wax. That left me with paint that looked like this. Started of with a Lake Country Finishing pad and Menzerna 85RE. Couple of passes with that proved ineffective. Time to up to Lake Country polishing pad and Menzerna 203S. This worked well although some RDS remained. I didn't have a harsher pad/polish available so that had to do. Went over the whole car with 203S and then again with 85RE. Next was Poorboys Black Hole. Amazing stuff. And so easy to apply. Topped with Poorboys Nattys Liquid Blue Finished with some Nanolex trim rejuvenator. Amazing stuff (Half and half pic) Finished!
  12. Never heard of a HR using oil. Rev up it can be a common issue. I did 40 in my HR and it never used any more oil than an average car.
  13. Is that the rev limiter or where the red starts on the dial? Reason I ask is I think my de car may have had a rev-up tune but don't know how to tell.... You car won't have had a rev up tune. It's called UpRev and is totally separate from the manufacturers naming of the engine.
  14. HR engine has dual air intakes. DE only has one.
  15. That was a good few years ago though Dave. Prices are considerably lower now.
  16. Rear quarter and a door? I've seen 04 cars written off for that. Prepare yourself for Cat D.
  17. It's just the Nissan designation. VQ35DE and VQ35HR Supposedly the DE stands for: D - Dual Overhead Cam E - Electronic Fuel Injection and the HR for "High Revolution". Not sure how much truth is in that.
  18. Get a respray in a nice colour
  19. Don't under estimate the time and hassle involved in breaking a full car. It's a serious pain in the a**e. You will: - be let down by numerous folk who have said they want parts, - Have a complete nightmare boxing up and shipping parts and arranging couriers - Run out of space to store all the crap - break things you are removing - be left with loads of bits you cannot shift - deal with disgruntled buyers who are trying to get one over on you. Just want to make sure you know what's ahead of you if you go down that route.
  20. We'll start the organising in September. At least next year you'll only have to shout me over to have a drunken ramble rather that paying roaming charges!
  21. Another one of the 300zx lads meeting us at Scotch Corner Holiday Inn.
  22. Get some glass from a breaker. Shouldn't cost too much.
